9 A slightly overly very much mutilated body

James screamed.

"NO!"

He saw with his own eyes the scene of his best friend going down a bird's stomach. He desperately scrambled towards the bird yet it was too late, Ark had already disappeared.

Despair hit him like a 2 ton hammer as he crumpled to the floor. Crying, he clenched the grass in sorrow.

The bird let out a satisfying belch which pulled James out of his trance. He glanced around and saw Kali standing still. She seemed as if she was petrified as she stood like a statue. Her eyes were blank while her mouth was slowly mouthing a name repeatedly.

The birds attention was focused on the unmoving Kali and it started to swagger towards her. James let out a yell as he got up and ran towards Kali. Just as the eagle was about to chomp down, James pushed her out of the way.

As if waking up for the first time, Kali let out a confused gasp. James saw the disoriented Kali and felt rage brewing in his heart. He was not going to lose her too.

As if he was being blessed by the gods, he felt unexplainable power coursing through his veins. He got up from the ground and ran towards the eagle. His burning wrath clouded his mind as he walked nearer and nearer to the eagle. James felt as if flames of anger were shrouding him when he realized, he was aflame.

The bird the ignored him started to show a hint of fear and anger. It reared his head and screeched again, however James was not affected. When James was close enough the hit the eagle, the eagle bent down and head butted James. James felt his ribs break under the heavy impact and went flying and crashed onto the ground.

The bird let out a triumphant cry as it looked down onto James, wiping out all the fear it had in its eyes and replaced it with disdain. Like a dying flame, James lay there gasping for air as he struggled to get up. As the bird got closer, despair flashed in his eyes. Was he going to die like Ark? He closed his eyes in resignation when he heard a cheerful voice call out to him.

"Need help?"

A young man, about twenty appeared out of nowhere looking at James. The man was wearing a old fashioned outfit and was holding a six foot spear in his hand. His hair waved like a burning flame and his eyes were as calm as the sky. His skin was a light shade of tan and James could see his well defined muscles. He was dashing, so dashing he could give ladykillers a run for their money.

"I guess that was a yes." He said with a smile. He turned around and glared at the bird. The eagle glared back with a condescending look when all of a sudden a flash of pain appeared in its eye. It let out a squawk of indignance and ruffled it's body.

While it was distracted, the man made his move. His hand moved like a blur as the spear disappeared like magic. James glanced at the eagle, and to his surprise, found the eagle standing dumbfounded with a spear through its head.

In that instance James felt fear. The animal that almost killed him was defeated effortlessly by this stranger. James swiveled his head to the eagle and saw that it was still standing. In fact it seemed to be twitching. It let out a weak cry before it finally collapsed onto the ground.

The man suddenly gave a frown.

"Why is the bird still moving?"

The man slowly retrieved his spear and backed away immediately. The bird started to spasm erratically in its chest region. James stared at the wriggling bird corpse with boundless amounts of hope.

Suddenly the chest burst open and a boy fell out. The boy was badly disfigured and seemed to have acid burns all over his body.

James felt like throwing up.

"Ark…"

Kali fell back into her dazed state as she staggered to the boy.

"No use, he's dead. Must have died the moment he came out," the man said grimacing.

Kali gazed at the corpse with diamonds sparkling down her cheeks.

"It's all my fault… if I just shut my mouth for one second."

The man gazed into the sky and sighed as his spear dissolved into the air.

"It's all a part of life, the most we can do for him is send him off peacefully."

How can he be in peace dying like that, James wanted to bitterly retort. James looked away from the corpse and let out a teardrop.

The rest of the class turned away as if afraid of looking at the person they once knew. Kali burrowed her sobs onto Ark as he lay there silent as a rock.

Suddenly, a squelching sound appeared from the birds body as a bright, young voice yelled out in anger.

"I WONT BE EATEN BY A CHICKEN YOU HEAR ME!!! I'M THE ONE WHO EATS HERE YOU STUPID CHICKEN. I HAVE NO PLANS TO DIE TODAY YOU PRODUCT OF CHICK-FIL-A!!!"

A young boy covered in slimy intestine juice crawled out of the birds chest with a face of disgust. His face immediately changed to happiness as he saw the bright light.

"HAHAHA BEAT THAT YOU DRUMSTICK!!! COULDN'T KEEP ME INSIDE FOR TOO LONG DIDN'T YOU HUH!!! I TOLD YOU I'LL ROAST YOU FOR-"

At this point the boy found the tear ridden eyes of his classmates, his best friend crying like a defiled boy, and his other best friend hugging a dead body.

"Um… why are you crying? Why does James look like he was… never mind… and why is Kali holding a… slightly overly very much mutilated body?"

The boy looked around and saw a stranger and showed a puzzled expression on his face. His eyes constantly drifted from his defiled mate to his friend that was hugging a… slightly overly very much mutilated body. His eyes shone brightly as he looked like he understood the mysteries of the world. He let out a smile as he crawled back into the birds chest.

"I must be disrupting something. Please, carry on mourning for… um the guy. I'll just wait for you to finish."

With that the boy was about to re-enter the chest when Kali screamed out joyfully and performed one of the best tackles in history.

With no regard towards the slimy solution on his body, she started to fiercely cry and laugh at the same time while hugging like a baby koala.

Ark looked up confused.

"Ok, what's going on here."
