147 Chapter 146: Challenge

"There is no way that's going to happen.." Christina looked at Leo with a serious look on her face.

"Let's hope that is the case.." Leo muttered as he gave her a look.

He talked with Christina for a while before walking her out of the mansion.

[Now we know the reason for the enmity with Quinton-nya.] Aiden's voice rang in his head.

"Well, that is indeed clear. Can't believe it's jealousy.." Leo sighed as he returned back to his room, wondering what to do ahead.

He would have to see for now how things would proceed ahead. If possible he didn't want this mess to get out of the hand. He wanted to concentrate on raising his level for now.

"Knock!"

"Knock!"

Leo was a bit surprised when he heard the knock at the door. It was already late, and most of the people should have gone to bed by now.

When he went to open the door, he was surprised to see Edgar standing outside. It had been a while since he returned home.

The position of a Marshal sure wasn't easy to handle.

"Am I allowed in?" Edgar asked with a smile.

"Uh…come in.." He forced a smile on his face, and asked him in.

"..."

An odd silence enveloped the room as both waited for each other to speak.

"You are not going to tell me about it?" Edgar asked as he gave Leo a look.

"About what?" Leo asked in confusion.

"The Leech?" Edgard replied.

"Uh!" Leo realised that he still hadn't had a talk to Edgar about the pet beast. He actually hadn't come across Edgar since that day due to their schedule. He hadn't even seen him in the morning these past few days.

"Well.." Leo forced a smile on his face.

"Don't say that you don't want to put in hard work. I know you are not like that." Edgar was aware of that much.

Leo had given the reason of wanting to concentrate only on raising his level to the old farmer, but that definitely wasn't true. At least, Edgar believes it to be so.

"I have my own plans.." Leo looked at Edgar with a serious look on his face. This conversation was something that he and Aiden had prepared beforehand a long ago. They knew that Edgar would definitely come asking about it.

Edgar looked at Leo and then sighed, "I don't know what you are planning. But, just don't regret your actions later. That is the only thing that I wanted to say to you.."

He honestly wished that Leo would have gotten himself a beast with some potential. One which could help him in the near future as a companion, yet he had gone and selected a useless Leech.

He really didn't know how to react. When he first heard it, he literally thought that the Old farmer was playing jokes on him. But, the reality was something else.

Now, he only wished that his son indeed had something in mind for this irrational behavior. If not, he really wouldn't know what to make out of this situation.

The next day..

"Something feels odd.." Amelia muttered as she walked beside Leo.

The moment they had gotten out of the car, they could tell something was different in the air today.

"Amelia!" Tristy, Amelia's friend called out to her.

She came up to them, and greeted Leo as well.

"What's with the strange atmosphere in the Academy?" Amelia asked her.

"Haven't you seen the video?" Tristy asked Amelia in surprise.

"Video? What video?"

Tristy opened her smart link, and showed them a video.

It was a confrontation between the students of their Academy and Golden Crown Academy. And, unlike previous times, they hadn't ambushed others. Instead, they had boldly walked from the front and issued a challenge.

It obviously didn't end well for them.

The students involved in this fight were from Class D and F.

From the looks of it, they seemed to have bumped into them in some Arcade, and from there, it went on towards the gym.

Since this was a fight accepted by both sides, there was nothing wrong about it.

"Last time they ambushed and provoke our students. And, now they are just using that anger to their advantage to make the students accept their challenges. They really have planned it well." Tristy smiled looking at the video. But, her analysis was accurate.

This was the reason, there was a strange atmosphere in the Academy.

….

Class F

As soon as Leo entered the class, he found out something was up.

He saw the leader of Class D walk out their classroom, and leave along with a few other people of their class.

On the other side, Billy, Harry along with other guys had seemingly formed a group as well.

It didn't take long for Leo to understand the situation with Harry's help.

It seemed that students of Golden Crown Academy weren't satisfied yet. They had left a challenge open for them. At least that was how Leo saw this situation. After all, they had beaten their students yesterday, and left them with a destination in case they wanted a round two for revenge.

Class D's leader was here to discuss it with Billy, and from the looks of it, they were ready for round two.

"Are you serious?" Leo looked at Billy with a frown, "No matter how you look at it, something seems fishy about it."

"This might even be a trap.." He further added in an attempt to persuade them.

"If we don't do anything, it won't end. Besides, we will have to pay them back for what they did to us.." Billy smiled. "Anyway, it won't be that dangerous. That's the reason we are cooperating with Class D."

It seemed they had planned to work along with Class D this time. They would be separated into two groups. And, if there was any chance of things going wrong, then the other group would act accordingly.

"Be prepared. We are going after Academy hours.." Billy patted Leo's back with a smile on his face.

It seemed no one was going to ask about his choice in this matter.
