24 New Day Aegiri's story

The next day Aegiri finally woke up and returned to be the same as always as if nothing had happened. Rodse was a little concerned about the mood swings Aegiri presented.

"Aegiri, are you all right?"

"Yes, master, even though my grandmother's death was painful she would have told me to move on" Aegiri's smile was dazzling, but her hands held her little shirt.

It was a very tender sight and Rodse was enjoying it.

"I understand, finish studying wind spells and then you can go with your friends"

Aegiri took the book that was in Rodse's hands and began reading at full speed to finish early and go out and play with her friends.

Diara and Sert were in the water control class. They shared most classes mainly because of their kind of magic. In the water, you will find ice and flora. Pardy and Dert also shared classes for the magic of Dert which is controlling the gravity of objects and living things. Sadly they would only share the first semester as Pardy can use magic from the main element and therefore will start having private lessons on that magic. Sert would also be separated into a class specializing in the use of lightning magic and will remain under observation because of his flora magic that was very close to the legendary magic of life.

But that will be told at another time.

It was about 4 pm and all the children in their first year had finished their classes.

Diara, Pardy, Sert, and Dert were chatting merrily about what they saw in class and how one of the children had left the teacher soaked. It was a very quiet day. Everyone was having fun and planning to go for a walk around the big city of Jadee.

When the four of them were coming out of the school gates, someone started yelling at them.

When they turned to see who was the one that called them, their faces lit up.

"Aegiri!"

"Guys!"

Aegiri came running as fast as her short legs allowed. She finished the work Rodse had commissioned from her and immediately went out looking for her friends. Aegiri was thrilled when she saw them leaving the Academy.

"Since I arrived, I wanted to go out and meet your hometown Diara, but my teacher wouldn't let me" Aegiri was making a pout.

"Haha! He's probably just very overprotective. I heard that a few years ago he didn't let any student out of the Academy because of rumors about disappearances of young wizards on the streets of Jadee" Pardy was touching her cheek with her index finger.

Sert and Dert had also heard the greatest about that story. So, they simply just agreed that Principal Rodse was just protecting Aegiri.

Everyone was already aware that Aegiri had suffered a backlash with a spell she accidentally read, and Principal Rodse told them that another of equal or greater magnitude would never happen again. They didn't quite understand what he meant, but they pretended to understand everything perfectly. They just wanted to get out of that cold, scary place. The Director's office was famous for the strange atmosphere and aura that emanated from every corner.

At the castle…

Fernand and Artion were in one of the castle corridors chatting and planning their next move. Both were dressed in hunter's clothes and wore on their shoulders bows that were made of white and flexible wood, light as a feather and hard as steel.

Prince Denis watched them silently at a certain distance where he couldn't hear their conversation. Kiara saw him and approached him.

"Denis, you can't be more obvious. If I could see you it is very clear that Fernand knows that you are getting around, so he keeps a voice low enough to prevent you from hearing it" Kiara had a sober look.

Denis was astonished by that comment from his dear big sister.

"I'm going to wander the streets of the city and see that I'm encountered" a mysterious smile appeared in Kiara's face to replace the previous one on those soft, pink lips.

Denis simply watched her leave and when he looked again at where Artion and Fernand were, he realized that they were no longer there.

"You! Yes, you over there! Tell me where my brothers went" Denis approached one of the guards anxiously.

"They went to the stables!" the guard immediately replied as a drop of sweat crept down his forehead. Even the guards knew perfectly that the relationship between Denis and Kiara was very good.

Presently, Kiara was a 'very good person', but many know how overprotective she becomes with her brothers.

Denis went straight to the stables.

In the stables...

"Hey Fernand, I'd like to know what happened to Principal Rodse. It's uncommon for our father to bring us all together like this."

"It's a very complicated thing to treat in this place, once we go in the forest hunting, I promise I'll tell you what happened"

They were both caressing their Msites, some beasts resembling the horses, but these had no definite physical form, as they were creatures of fire and constantly seemed to stop being solid when in fact the flames of their manes danced and generated that optical illusion. Their fur was from a red-hot fire whereas it approached their paws their fur was darkening to a charcoal black. They were beautiful creatures unable to harm their masters with whom they performed the family ritual.

"Well, in that case, let's hurry before the sunset begins" skillfully Artion rode his horse and headed towards the gates of the wall surrounding the castle. Fernand continued to ride his horse elegantly leaving some maids passed out in the stables.

His perfect body was desired by all the women of the kingdom.

In the capital and city Jadee...

Aegiri and his friends were walking around the place looking for a sharp weapons shop for Dert and Sert to buy a spear and a sword, respectively. The girls watched the daggers and the bows and arrows. Pardy was mainly interested in bows as in her village all the inhabitants were masters of the arch. Aegiri and Diara looked at the daggers, but they didn't care much about getting one as they were still girls. The only ones interested in buying a weapon were Dert and Sert.

The girls left the establishment while the boys chose their weapons.

"Look what I found here, my little sister"

Diara was petrified.

That soft voice was like an icy sigh that brought only death and despair. Of course, only Diara and her two brothers had that feeling every time Kiara spoke, for others, it was like the spring breeze after a cold winter welcoming the new life. Her little left hand showed a fist that Kiara couldn't see.

"HAHA! What a serious little sister I have!" her laughter was soft and pleasing to the ear. Some of the men who passed by were enchanted by its sweetness.

Diara didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Her sister was an expert to enchant any kind of living being found within 100 yards of her.

"Well, I heard from Fernand that you have new friends and when I saw you in front of the store I decided to come and say hello to meet them" her sun-warming smile was something Diara couldn't see.

Diara looked at her suspiciously but said nothing. Pointing to Pardy and Aegiri introduced them to her sister.

"It is a pleasure to meet Her Highness, the First Princess" both bowed their heads as a greeting at the same time.

Kiara seemed very pleased with their behavior.

It was then that Sert and Dert left the weapon store with their sword and spear, respectively, and saw a beautiful lady and their friends talking. They approached and when they found out about the identity of that beautiful lady, they greeted her respectfully as gentlemen.

"Well, I'll leave you with your friends, have fun" and with those words, Kiara disappeared into the market crowd that was two houses from the weapon store.

"That was strange" Pardy, Aegiri, Sert and Dert said in unison.

Diara didn't know what to say.

"What do you think if we went through some ice cream and then went back to the Academy?" Diara's discomfort was palpable and Aegiri sought a way to make her feel better.

Everyone agreed.

In the forest...

Fernand and Artion were aiming at an eight-legged sky-blue deer with slightly darker blue antlers. It was a Fersa deer. Its fur was incredibly soft and smooth, and it was considered one of the best-valued skins in the entire kingdom. However, it was very difficult to find and hunt. Its attribute of magic was wind and water, a combination highly respected by the ones that specialized in evasion techniques.

Just as Fernand had decided to shoot, a shadow appeared from behind them and Artion intrinsically pulled his sword from nowhere and threw a slash straight into that shadow's chest. The shadow easily evaded him as if waiting for that reaction from him.

Artion was surprised and immediately threw the second cut, only this time he pointed to the sudden visitor's neck. The character who surprised them stopped the sword with his two fingers and snatched it away. When the sword fell to the ground, the two princes noticed the light layer of dark ice making it clear who the shadow was: Principal Rodse.
