16 Breaking News: A Cold Aegiri Aegiri's story

"Myths and Legends: The Magic of Life and Death" Aegiri didn't know if it was correct for her to read this book. She wanted to ask Teacher Rodse but he was still working.

Her curiosity won.

"In this world, magic is the principal force and everyone is born with one of the five basic elements and two elements. However, there is another magic in this world that some people want with evilness. Some say that that magic exists and others say it is just a myth. Well, in this book everything about those stories, fairy tales, legends and myths about that specific magic, but first I will write an introduction to present you this special magic.

"There exists three different forces that every living one wants to control. The three different forces are: Life, Death and Time. The first one, Life, is the force capable to revive or to cure mortal diseases and mortal injuries, even immortality could be achieve. The second one, Death, is the force capable to kill everything, no matter if it was someone with great health or to have a good resistance to some stuff like poison, furthermore, it is capable to kill even the ones who achieve the immortality. The third one, Time, is the most mysterious force. This force is the one who can change history. However the Time is a force that born from the Life and Death forces, and there is no record about it."

Aegiri wanted to continue reading, when the door was push open by Rodse.

"What are you reading?" Rodse took the book from Aegiri's hands, and his face turned pale of anger "Maybe I said that you can read every book from those bookshelves, but now I am going to change that. You are forbidden to read the books that talk about those three forces until you finish to comprehend the magic basic elements" Rodse knew that it was better if Aegiri didn't read those books, because something really bad might happen. It was the first time that Aegiri looked Rodse so angry. With a sad face, Aegiri looked at him and nodded to let him knew she understood.

Aegiri took a book named 'Pure Water Magic' and started to read it. Rodse looked at her, and his anger fell down.

"Aegiri, I'm going to leave to work. Remember to eat and to take a rest. You are still a kid, and you have my permission to met your friends. It's already the time when the afternoon classes finishes" Rodse said with a smile and left his home and Aegiri that had a bright smile in her face. Kids forget easily sad things when they heard something amazing for them. This time that made Aegiri happy was that she was going to be able to see her friends.

She closed the book and put it in its place, then she went to the door and left to see her friends.

It was not long since she started to live with her teacher, but when she went outside and looked for her friends the academy was silent. It seemed that something happen.

Aegiri walked for a while.

When she arrived to the First Garden, she saw Diara, Pardy, Sert and Dert lively talking. Aegiri ran towards them, and the first one to see her was Pardy.

"Look! Aegiri is coming" everyone turned their heads and their faces showed a bright smile.

"Aegiri!"

"How are you!?"

"We missed you"

Aegiri reached them and with a smile she said "I'm okay, Teacher Rodse is taking good care of me. Oh, yes! He has a fantastic library, and I missed you too" Aegiri was euphoric. For child like her, to see her friends, and talk and play with them was the most awesome experience she could ask for.

"Aegiri learnt to read?" Pardy asked with a excited voice.

"Yep!" Aegiri's smile was as bright as the sun.

Sert, Dert and Diara knew to read already because of their backgrounds, and Pardy was still learning. Aegiri and Pardy came from poor villages, so to know how to read and write was a luxury they couldn't afford, so when the Academy's represent came to their villages (the represent was different) and acknowledged their abilities, they got the chance to learn more.

Diara remembered what she talked with Principal Rodse, so her mind was a bit absent from their conversation.

"Diara... Diara!" Dert called Diara, and she returned to reality.

"Sorry, I remember something" she said with a smile.

Aegiri looked at her with a smile "Let's play together!".

They started to play 'Hide and Seek' in the First Garden. It was a while since they were together , although it was just like two days ago they met. However, they are kids.

Rodse was in his office looking at all the papers he needed to read and sign, he asked himself why he accepted the position, but remembered that he must take care of Aegiri. While he was reading the reporters, some soldiers came to his secretary's office with a letter. The soldiers' faces had a sad expression and they gave the letter to the secretary. They simply said "Please, give this letter to Principal Rodse" and then left. They wanted to give the letter using magic, but the thought it was inappropriate so they personally came. The secretary looked at the letter to see if it didn't have any kind of trap before she gave it to the Principal. When she finished her 'scanning', she went to the Principal's office and knocked the door "Come in" a voice said from inside. The secretary opened the door and passed the letter to the Principal, and left without saying a word. Rodse looked at the letter and the one who sent it wrote 'Anonymous'. Rodse knew who was the one who sent it, s he opened the letter and read it. An image came out of the letter and then a video appear while Rodse was reading.

In Parvend existed different kinds of letters as different kinds of magic existed. The letter that Rodse receive was an illusion letter, that means that the letter have words wrote in it and a kind of video that record everything what was written in it. This kind of letter was difficult and expensive to obtain, because it was the most comfortable and easy form to send a message and to understand the situation it is describe in words in it. Rodse was normally an expressionless person, but when he show his true emotions everyone must be careful. This letter was something that agitate Rodse, his expression was grim and his eyes darkened. However, he knew he couldn't do something for the time being.

He finished his work as fast as he could and looked for Aegiri.

Aegiri and her friends were eating ice cream. They got tired after all the running while they were playing. Pardy got wet because Aegiri used her magic to capture her when she was running directly to the base, but she went out of the hand. Dert, Sert and Aegiri had snow in their hair because Diara tried to made an ice wall, but it became a snow wall that fell on Dert, Sert and Aegiri. And Diara was cover with ground from head to toe. You could imagine what happened. Everyone who saw the sight of the five could guess that they were kids without experience in spells.

Rodse saw them, and called Aegiri. Aegiri looked at him and then said bye to his friends.

"Teacher, what happened to you to have that expression?" Aegiri asked him with worry. Rodse looked at her and took her to their home. After they arrived, Aegiri saw the letter that her teacher had in his hand.

"Aegiri, I must tell you something important, but I need you to remember that I'm here with you and that I will never leave your side. Even if the world took my life, I will reincarnate to be by your side" Rodse was serious and Aegiri nodded affirmatively. Rodse's face came warmer and continue with a sad voice "Today during the afternoon, I received a letter of an old friend of my Master. He wrote that your grandmother Elder Esti and the village's chief have died and that my Master and your friend Elder Salgot sacrifice himself to protect the bay named Ethon. In other words, all your beloved ones, except Ethon, are dead"

Aegiri went silence for large five minutes.

"That's impossible, my friends in the village are still alive. I'll send them a letter right now to let you see that that letter in your hand is fake and that everyone..." "AEGIRI! Listen please and understand: your village doesn't exist anymore, it was destroyed and no one survived" Rodse didn't want to tell her the news in such manner, but he wasn't good with kids. Aegiri looked at him with her red eyes, she wanted to cry but for some reason her tears didn't fall. She felt that something cold was emerging from her heart and expanding all over her body. Rodse noted that something was happening to Aegiri so he hugged her "I am here..." he whispered.

Aegiri was acting strange.

She didn't respond the hug or cry like the other time. She just stood where she was with an expressionless face.

"You are my first friend and silence is my second one" Aegiri said coldly. Rodse looked at her and he knew that the Aegiri he met was now different from the one he had in front of him.
