14 The Foundations of Magic Aegiri's story
Aegiri woke up and found that Rodse had already left. She remembered all the happenings from yesterday and went towards the room where the library was. The first time she saw the books, she fell in love with them.
When she arrived, she saw two topics that her teacher left her to choose to start with one. The two topics were History of magic and The Foundations of Magic.
Aegiri thought for a while before choosing one.
She nodded her head and chose the one named The Foundations of Magic. 'I need to know what is the magic that I can use' Aegiri thought, after that, one hundred books appeared, she took one and started to read.
Each one of these elements was divided into many other existing magics. Each of the combinations to get other magics differed from their difficulty. The magic of ice was obtained by combining water and wind, while the illusory magic required magic of fog and light, the magic of fog was obtained by gathering ice and black flames, the black flames required fire and darkness. Aegiri was surprised to see every combination and how complicated it was. When she read the illusory magic as 'born', she knew immediately that it was impossible to obtain, unless you were born with the skill. However, Aegiri doubted their existence. In order to get the answer, she decided to continue reading.
Just as she took it, the kinds magic as Illusory Magic, they were impossible to obtain, since it was required that all the necessary elements were of extreme purity, and according to the data, the purity of the Elements of light and darkness have never been obtained, while the purity of the water, wind and fire were not easily obtained like before. The reason they knew their existence was because people began to be born with these magics. Little by little they were discovered as how they could be obtained without having to be born with them, but that did not mean that they were able to create.
Little by little the doubts of Aegiri began to be clarified.
Thus, Aegiri read ten books until she had a new doubt that the books, she had at that time, could not solve: the existence of different magics such as gravity control, poison, invisibility, among many others, should have an origin according to the Theories of magic, but the same books where these theories came from said that the elements in their purest forms were disappearing, while the pure magic of light and darkness did not exist, but it was a simple legend. Aegiri rose from where he was and went to a bookcase looking for some that could solve that doubt.
Her doubt was simple: are there people who haven the magic of the elements in their purest state?
She found a history book where the Lord's reigning times were recorded. The book mentioned that this man and monster was the only one around the world with magic of light and darkness so pure that he could serve to get the other types of magic, but as he was feared they were never able to ask for his help to check his theories. The longer it passed, the more people suffered in the Lord's kingdom. The shattered countries did not find a way to counterattack, their leaders were persecuted by the demons the Lord invoked with the magic of darkness. It was even said that he could use magic of illusion and teleportation because of the purity of his magic. It was then that their hero and future king appeared with the control of all the elements in its purest state, which allowed the hero to use all kinds of magic that did not use the magic of light and darkness. However, it was never clarified if he had the lighting element, because during his fight against the Lord he never used it, though it was like he used another strange magic that is not registered.
Aegiri really did not know if it was true everything that was written in that book. For her, the Lord was not a monster, he was a person like everyone who just wanted to be happy and live quietly in peace, but that the leaders of the countries did not leave the wars.
However, the book solved the doubt she had.
While she was studying and reading, Rodse went to perform his duties as director of the Academy. After a long questioning by the royal Guards, Rodse was free from any suspicion of communication with his former master, Salgot. Rodse was very concerned because he had not received any message from his master. Rodse knew everything could happen, and feared the worst. However, he had to put aside that concern and continue his duties.
He always thought of his past before his teacher left him and his friend and fellow student. I missed and remembered with nostalgia those days of peace. While he was in his thoughts, a six-year-old girl was knocking on his secretary's office door. This girl of sweet and certain aspect was Diara. Diara remains a mystery to many, as the little one avoids talking a lot about her family, but seeing the situation in which her home was, she decided to use her name and origins to be able to have an audience with the director. The secretary turned her head over to see her with a face without expression, and Diara simply pulled out of her pocket a token. The secretary looked at it without changing her face and let Diara pass without saying a word.
At that instant Rodse was circling through his office deeply focused on his thoughts that he did not even notice how the doors of his office were opening, a girl entered and then they closed again.
Diara was surprised to see that scene and debated between let herself to be notice or wait for the director Rodse to notice her. After ten minutes, Diara decided to make herself noticed and cleared he throat. Hearing such a sudden sound, director Rodse executed a movement where a black snow breeze enveloped the poor Diara. When the director noticed who was the one who entered his office, he immediately withdrew the breeze and went to see if Diara was hurt. Fortunately, Diara was a user of ice magic, allowing her to defend herself and avoid serious injuries. After reviewing her condition and seeing a few simple scratches, director Rodse gave a sigh of relief.
"Principal Rodse, I've been wondering why Aegiri was detained from all contact with others?" Diara had to ask the question. It was the first time that something like this happened at the academy according to her older siblings, but if the circumstances of that student were special it could happen. However, if her brethren told her of the special circumstances, then the circumstances should be extreme to act like that. Rodse looked at her deeply "Diara, Aegiri is someone very special and it is necessary to keep her away from other people" Rodse did not know if he could still trust in Diara considering who is her family. During some minutes, both stayed quietly and then Principal Rodse suspected that Diara had a hidden reason "Diara, could you tell me what happened to ask that question?"
After hearing it, Diara was armed with courage to tell him why she asked that question "Well, I wouldn't know if it's right to mention it, but I think it's best to keep you informed. It happens that my family has been very upset because something apparently very dangerous appeared in the forest near the village where Aegiri was born. I am very concerned about the possible danger in which Aegiri had been found if she had not been accepted at the academy. I'm aware that my father sent many troops as if there were a quarrel" Diara had an expression a little tense, while Rodse kept his face serious although I was really seriously concerned and as always feared the worst and even the impossible. "I understand Diara, you can be calm. Aegiri will be safe with me. Someone very important to me confided her to me..." "Right! director, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I also found out about that there were several casualties among the soldiers and only one casualty of the other group" when he heard that news, Principal Rodse's face became pale being unable to hide his emotions. Diara clearly noticed its change of expression and she got confused. The Director saw her, and he regained his composure. "Thanks, Diara, it's good to worry about your friends, and also you can take your leave" Principal Rodse was in a somewhat unstable state so Diara nodded and withdrew.
Meanwhile, Aegiri continued his studies of the foundations of magic when he found a book that stung his curiosity "myths and Legends: The Magic of Life and death." It was the first time I heard anything like that.
