Chapter 33 Angry Apes at Wolf King Creek

Dozens of ironback wolves stood in a big cave with blood in their eyes.

The alpha wolf looked particularly fierce with it’s gleaming white fangs up to a meter long. Its hind legs were bent slightly, ready to charge.

A human was standing at the mouth of their cave.

“Wow,” Jiang Shaoliu unshouldered the rocket launcher with bright eyes, drooling, “so many big wolves here.”

To him they were not ferocious, deadly monsters, but chunks of delicious meat waiting to be cooked. He was so hungry.

All the wolves except the alpha were trembling.

It was not only due to the terrible demeanor of this human and the intimidating weapon that he carried on his shoulder, but because he was a master.

They subconsciously wanted to surrender, as if they were facing the true king of the forest.

The alpha wolf growled, its terrible voice reverberating in the valley and rippling the water of the little spring that bubbled up from the floor of the cave.

“Stop that, it’s so loud! Just take this,” Jiang Shaoliu hummed and pulled the trigger.

Followed by a thick trail of smoke, the rocket-propelled grenade veered into the spring, two meters away from the alpha wolf.

Boom!

A huge waterspout shot up to the roof of the cave and splashed down like rain. Even the stale air inside the cave seemed fresher.

Jiang Shaoliu giggled in embarrassment: “Oops, I missed.”

The wolves shook their hides, spraying tiny water droplets everywhere.

“Guess I have to use my fists again.” Jiang Shaoliu dropped the rocket launcher and walked into the cave.

The wolf pack began to retreat to the back of their den, the alpha slowly walking backwards, growling and panting.

This human was so terrible they almost gave up resisting.

But the momentary panic soon ceased.

In a flash, the whole wolf pack turned to Jiang Shaoliu and charged madly, sharp claws and fangs exposed.

This human was rather strong, but in the end, they were giant wolves.

Boom…

Less than a minute later all the wolves well dead. The alpha had a big hole in its head, with its front leg broken and swollen. Its corpse lay in the spring and the flowing water washed away its blood.

The creek flowing from the spring ran down to the valley like a river of blood. There were mangled limbs and blood everywhere, turning the valley into a horrid hellscape.

Jiang Shaoliu walked among them and punched them again to make sure those huge wolves were all dead, then he turned back to the forest and brought back a pile of firewood to cook them.

He skinned and prepared ten of the carcasses, thinking to take some meat with him in case he got hungry again.

“No time to waste. Better start practicing…” Jiang Shaoliu sat with his legs crossed, meditating while his dinner cooked.

There were still a few minor meridians that were not cleared out, and according to the Great Sage’s Formula, he would attain a golden stomach once he cleared out the last of the impurities from them.

When this was done, the stomach would become an abyss of gold and iron, with a huge capacity that would make him eat more, but at the same time, he would be able to go a long time without food.

“I’ll keep being constantly hungry during the process, but when all the meridians are cleared out, I will be rid of this nuisance.” Jiang Shaoliu inhaled slowly and the pores of his body opened, allowing his to suck in double the amount of heavenly energy.

The true qi gushed violently inside him and the meridians that had already been cleared had were strengthened further, greedily absorbed by each and every cell in his internal organs, vessels, muscles and skin.

The grey-white impurities in his minor meridians were slowly washed away, and his true qi was flowing quite slowly through them, but once the process was complete he would become much stronger.

Once the gold abyss was created and his stomach ring was stabilized, it would be time to obtain his third ring.

“Phew!” Jiang Shaoliu finished and went for a dip in the spring – upstream of the blood. He stretched out his arms and his joints popped like thunder, suffused with infinite power.

Who could imagine that his soft, white skin could stop a sniper’s bullet?

“So, how strong is my skin now?”

Jiang Shaoliu picked up a pointy rocket fragment and stabbed himself in the arm.

The skin flexibly gave way under the sharp point and a small white spot appeared. The muscles below were so elastic that nothing could pierce them.

He pressed harder.

The sharp tip of the metal fragment began bending.

Clang!

He threw the fragment at a rock and frowned: “How am I going to get medical treatment if a needle can’t pierce my skin? What if I get sick or need an infusion?!”

Then he smiled.

Any germs or poisons except the most extreme toxins would be eliminated by the true qi as soon as they entered his bloodstream.

He was satisfied with the strength of his skin, but unfortunately, it would still take more time to get through some of his minor meridians.

Nonetheless, he could feel the impurities beginning to loosen and it probably wouldn’t take much longer to get through.

A fragrance that made his mouth water greeted him now, his nostrils flaring as he sucked in the air.

The wolf flesh had become browned on the barbecue and the fat was not dripping out anymore.

Jiang Shaoliu happily rushed over with joy in his heart: “Dinnertime!”

Gui Hu was hanging on to a strong vine, a pair of binoculars in his hand and a half-burnt cigar in his mouth.

“Mr. Wolf, I’ve found Jiang Shaoliu. Wow, there’s a big pile of giant wolf carcasses there and he seems to be cooking enough meat to feed an entire village.”

Mr. Liu nodded and unsheathed his alloy sword, saying in a low voice: “Get ready, Guo Hu, we’re going in.”

“All right.”

Gui Hu slid down the vine to the ground and took out a box of fine alloy steel needles.

He spat out his cigar and poured the steel needles down his throat. His body was silvered inside and out, so they couldn’t hurt him.

“Cattle needles? Are you going to be serious this time?” Bumping his fists together, Mr. Liu’s eyes shone: “Let’s go.”

Then they burst forth like two bats out of hell.

When Jiang Shaoliu finished eating, he stood barefoot in the spring and let the water wash his feet as he stared deeply into the forest.

They moved with great momentum and each of them could compare with Sha Xing.

“There’re two strong masters heading this way.” Jiang Shaoliu took a deep breath and prepared himself to fight as the warm flow filled him.

Mr. Liu and Gui Hu dropped to the ground together.

The looks the three men gave each other practically made sparks fly.

Gui Hu narrowed his eyes and squatted down low, his fingers bent like claws as silver light flashed brightly around him.

Mr. Liu moved slowly, flourishing his sword as smoothly as flowing water in vaguely menacing motions.

“They have very good breathing techniques,” Jiang Shaoliu thought.

Each time they took a breath, so much air went into their lungs that there was an audible whistle.

Mr. Liu and Gui Hu were getting increasingly nervous.

They couldn’t imagine such a young man like Jiang Shaoliu could form air blasts, since he could inhale the same amount of air they did.

But why wasn’t he metalized?

Was it confidence, or arrogance?

“Go easy at first, Gui Hu, I want to see what he’s got,” Mr. Liu said in a low voice.

Gui Hu nodded, then dashed forward at extreme speed, instantly crossing the twenty meters between him and Jiang Shaoliu.

Jiang Shaoliu exhaled sharply and Gui Hu raised his silver claws, turning his body slightly sideways to slice diagonally across Jiang Shaoliu’s belly.

Mr. Liu followed directly after, the tip of his sword aimed at Jiang Shaoliu’s throat.

Jiang Shaoliu’s went low as his foot rose up to kick Gui Hu’s silver claws away, immediately springing back to suddenly hit Mr. Liu on the chin with a sucker punch left.

Mr. Liu was taken by surprise by he tightened his leg muscles and planted his feet in the ground, blocking Jiang Shaoliu’s fist with the flat of his sword.

Clang!

Jiang Shaoliu’s fist struck the blade and the sword bent to an amazing arch that almost touched Mr. Liu’s nose.

“I’m gonna kill you!”

Shouted Gui Hu as he made a move to grab Jiang Shaoliu’s wrist.

Jiang Shaoliu took back his hand and performed a backward flip to retreat, splashing them all with spring water before dropping stably to the ground and exhaling slowly and evenly.

The longsword bounced back straight in Mr. Liu’s slightly trembling hand. He was short of breath, sucking air in hard through the nose.

Gui Hu straightened up and panted.

They looked at each other in surprise.

How strong was Jiang Shaoliu? Obviously, his breathing technique was more advanced than theirs.

Mr. Liu kneaded his sword hand until he felt better. He glanced at Gui Hu: “Let’s use our last stance and kill him at once.”

Gui Hu squinted his eyes and nodded, his Adam's apple bobbing quickly.

“The sword…” Jiang Shaoliu stared at Mr. Liu’s long sword and said in a low voice, “Is it memory metal?”

Mr. Liu didn’t answer. He began walking in a strange way.

Gui Hu rushed out suddenly, forming a whirlwind with his silver claws. The storm sucked in the spring water, creating a roaring, tinkling, floating, rotating silver water ball.

Jiang Shaoliu held his fists tightly in front of his chest, biceps trembling violently while a network of cracks formed on the cave floor beneath him. Then he took a deep breath and his chest rose slightly.

“Aaaaargh!!”

He roared and kicked off the ground, showering the cave with debris as he rushed towards Mr. Liu with a blast of air exploding out of his fist.

A glimmer of fear appeared in Mr. Liu’s eyes. He retreated immediately and began swinging his sword in circles in front of him like a windmill to stir up the air flow of dozens of defensive layers.

However, it was to no avail.

Bang!

Jiang Shaoliu’s air blast smashed into the invisible wall in full force, scattering it instantly.

“You can’t get to me! This is a top quality memory alloy sword, you just…” Mr. Liu screamed and resisted with all his power, but his arms and back cracked and his feet dug a 2-meter trench along the stone floor of the cave as he was pushed back.

Jiang Shaoliu felt like his arms were on fire, but he strained again and roared, “Die!”

Slapping the sword away, he clamped his hands over Mr. Liu’s head.

Rip!

Mr. Liu abruptly died out. A big head flew across the cave, spraying a trail of blood behind it, its eyes still full of fear and anger. The twisted sword fell into the water with a splash.

The silver water ball that Gui Hui create slowly flew toward Jiang Shaoliu. He himself floated inside the water ball, spitting steel needles at Jiang Shaoliu.

Jiang Shaoliu quickly switched to the Demon Fist and began throwing fists in all direction, whipping up a powerful cyclone around himself.

This was a high-leveled Demon Fist.

Dozens of alloy steel needles were blown away, ricocheting wildly off the walls of the cave.

The great cyclone whipped up by the infinite fist shadows of the Demon Fist made no retreat against Gui Hu’s claws when it faced the silver water ball, the cave erupting in explosions as they fought each other.

“I won’t surrender! You can’t be this strong!” Gui Hu screamed and put more efforts into his right claws with an angry look in his eyes.

Then…

A fist shadow burst through the watery storm and broke the silver claws before slamming into Gui Hu’s chest.

Bang!

The stone ground exploded under him, sending rubble more than ten meters away, as Gui Hu crashed into the floor and trembled. Some blood mixed with brains flowed out of the back of his head.

The spring water flowed into the pit and covered his body.

Jiang Shaoliu was quiet. He approached slowly, squatting, and punched.

Splat.

Gui Hu’s head exploded, the brains, mixed with the blood, flowing downstream. He was completely dead.

Jiang Shaoliu stood up and looked down at his chest.

There was a steel needle stuck in his flesh above the heart. It was quivering.
