8 Chapter 8: Nice To Meet You

After checking his status, he couldn't help but notice the 3/100 behind his class title. However, when confronting the system about it, no information was delivered. Instead, the system remained quiet and simply left Wilhelm in a more confused state.

"Sigh, I suppose the system is not omnipotent after all" he whispered whilst shrugging his shoulders and looking for human tracks. He wasn't fearful of the night, this was especially so since he possessed the 'night-eye' skill.

Thus, after a few moments of putting his past training to use, he discovered some of their tracks within the grassy plain. The grass was slightly lowered on a certain path and he followed it for around half an hour until he laid his eyes on smoke rising into the air.

It was partially discernible from a distance, however, with his night-eye skill, he could see it more vividly than a normal human, albeit, it wasn't too considerable of a difference. Wilhelm figured that his first skill would be quite weak in comparison to his future abilities, at least, that was how most games worked.

Unfortunately, however, he presumed his class to be somewhat dark, as it buried dead bodies and was more efficient during the night. Alas, this was to be expected when selecting a class termed 'undertaker'. As such, he stopped thinking about such unnecessary thought and continued walking in the direction of the smoke.

He couldn't care less if he was spotted by fellow humans, as he was in dire need of water. Although some of his thirst had been quenched by the lake laced with some sort of flammable material, he hadn't drunk anything in at the very least, twelve hours.

Wilhelm was a trained man with many stats points allocated in certain areas, granting him strength not obtainable by a normal human, however, his bodily needs were still present. In fact, he felt as though his hunger was a much more prominent characteristic as of late.

Thinking to here, he soon arrived just a few dozen meters away from the assortment of fires that he could bear witness to from a distance. The flames stuck out a sore thumb during the night and surely attracted quite a lot of insects and other monsters. He could also faintly see plenty of tents set up in the camp and quite a few men standing guard with large sticks or rocks.

'Were they perhaps sent to the holy land together?' Wilhelm thought to himself after observing the abnormally large number of people in the camp. If they were sent alone, there was no possible way for them to have made a camp of this magnitude in the short amount of time they had been here.

After a few simple deductions, Wilhelm decided to patiently wait outside the camp for a little while longer. He was quite aware of his strange appearance and didn't expect anyone to treat him very kindly.

As Wilhelm was beginning to regret choosing the undertaker class more and more, a few people exited the camp and walked in his relative direction. They were a group of six and possessed somewhat small statures.

Even from a distance, Wilhelm could easily discern they weren't muscular and carried small weapons. Using his night-eye skill, which caused the surroundings to appear green, similar to night-vision on earth, he was capable of deducing that it was a group of three men and three women.

Seeing this, Wilhelm subtly moved his body to the left and walked a few meters to the side. The ground that was blanketed by tall grass and pine leaves camouflaged his figure and the group of six, unbeknownst, passed right by him.

From a closer distance they appeared by from varying Asian countries, and even when walking through the dark, their expressions were devoid of fear. Piqued, Wilhelm quietly followed behind the group of six. He felt that it was quite rare for a human to be so calm in their current circumstance, so he was curious as to what they were up to.

The group of six traveled through the grassy meadow without any blunders or stops. Once they reached the vast and expansive forest, they finally halted their footsteps and started to circle the forest, careful as to not enter it.

They continued like this for another quarter of an hour before stopping dead in their tracks. Surprisingly, they stopped exactly where Wilhelm had buried both the innocent boy and the blonde man he had murdered.

One of the women, with an oval shaped face, Pheonix eyes, and thin, pink lips took a few steps forward. Her wavy, black hair flowed behind her shoulders and her waist swayed provocatively as she moved.

She was a beauty, but her actions contrasted with her appearance. She dug her hands into the ground where Wilhelm buried the two and pulled out their bodies after much difficulty. Without care for dirtying her clothes, or face, she continued scrutinizing the corpses.

After deep examination, anger filled the face of the woman as she abruptly stood up from the ground, "this man killed Banri, and then something, no, someone, murdered Alex ruthlessly," she spoke in a slightly perceivable accent, just audible enough for Wilhelm to hear from a distance.

The group of five frowned in response to the ladies words, "do you think there is another group of humans nearby?" one of the men asked whilst raising his glasses. He had short black hair and ordinary features, vastly different from the ornate looking woman.

"I highly doubt it, judging by what that fairy had told us, this world should be much larger and more dangerous than earth, and since only 1% of humanity was sent, there shouldn't be another group nearby," the beautiful woman replied while using her index finger to periodically tap her chin.

"A sole human?" one of the others asked in shock, to which the woman nodded her head with a strange smile. She surveyed the surroundings and looked down at the flattened grass before squinting her eyes.

"Yes, a human that I presume is nearby…" she spoke with a higher octave than normal, causing Wilhelm to inwardly applaud her quick deduction. He admired intelligence, and the woman in front of him fully showcased that aspect.

Wilhelm deliberated whether or not to show himself for a few awkward moments before shrugging his shoulders and standing up. Judging by their earlier reaction, they seemed to acquaintances with the boy that Alex killed, as such, he didn't imagine they were immoral people.

His rising figure that moved the nearby brush alerted the group of six. They silently gazed at each other through the dead of night for a few moments. An eerie wind coursed through the nearby terrain, fluttering their clothes and hair.

It was quite dark, so the group of six couldn't vividly identify Wilhelm's features, however, they could deduce that he was a very tall and thin man with long hair. Thus, the beautiful woman, without fear, walked towards Wilhelm until she was only a few feet away.

Upon closer look, she possessed a beauty spot just below her lower lip, which authenticated her beauty. Fortunately, Wilhelm was no stranger to beauties, in fact, he had seen plenty back on earth, so he was not stunned in the slightest. From his experience, the prettier, the more dangerous.

While he was thinking this, the woman was stunned by his abnormal look. His unblemished pale skin and piercing green eyes were stunning, however, his long and ungroomed beard looked extremely out of place. Almost causing the woman to want to shave the beard off right then and there.

Unfortunately, her emotions were not shown on her face as she simply opened her thin lips, "did you kill that man?" she inquired while pointing towards Alex's lifeless body laying on the ground.

Her question caused Wilhelm to jestfully tap his chin with a wry smile before nodding his head, "that would be correct, I caught sight of him brutally murdering an innocent boy, so I decided to personally act as the judge, jury, and executioner," he said while putting his long and slender hand forward.

"My name is Wilhelm, nice to meet you"
