36 Up so early
{It was night. Standing with the support of a long tree, was a girl in her teens, with long white blonde hair. She silently kept gazing at the moon, that cast shadows over her beautiful, but blank face.
"I should leave now. It's already night. Feng Jie must be waiting for me." The girl finally muttered and walked with slow and deliberate steps towards the house.
The house was eerily silent.
The girl's eyes lit up in suspicion. She had a feeling, as if something bad was about to happen. Her throat tightened and her chest heaved.
With a start, she threw open one of the doors, only to find no one there. Her breath quickened as she quickly opened all the doors. Sweat trailed down her face as she stood in front of the last door.
Heart pounding, she pushed the door open.
What she saw inside made her stumble back and she fell down to her knees.
Inside the room, was none other than Feng Jie, her body looking eerily pale as it hung from the ceiling. The rope around her throat had left purple marks on her clear skin, making the girl gasp.
Her mouth opened and closed like a fish, but no sound came out. She couldn't accept it. She couldn't accept that the only person who remained beside her, had also left her now.
Something white fluttered down from Feng Jie's hands. Trembling, the girl picked the white paper up, that was still slightly warm from Feng Jie's hold. It was creased at the between and the girl's hands unconsciously straightened the crease.
'I'm sorry.'
Were the words written there.
The paper fell from the girl's hands. It was as if she lost all of her will to move. Those violet eyes turned glassy, like a doll's, with no emotions in them.
And she was done.}
*Thump*
Yi Lan's eyes opened up, eyelashes fluttering slightly as she calmed her heart.
Another dream of the past.
They had been haunting her since the past few days. With a groan, she pulled herself up and stretched, showing a strip of her stomach's gorgeous skin. The previously pale skin had now turned slowly slightly golden brown and glowed under the sun.
Her chopped hair hung wimply around her head, giving her a raw beauty that was hardly seen anymore. They were uneven, yet they fit so perfectly against her chin.
She ran a hand through her short hair, a habit she had recently picked up. The pointy ends of her recently cut hair lightly itched her hand, giving her an oddly satisfying feeling.
She proceeded to stretch again and had just arched her back when she realised something. "Oh damn! I forgot!"
She stumbled out of bed and hurriedly wrapped bandages around her chest, to make her already flat chest, seem more flat. "Why am I such an idiot?! How could I forget what master had said? Oof!" She mumbled as she pulled a loose shirt over her head.
Tying a small part of her back with a ribbon, Yi Lan stuffed an apple slice in her mouth on the way. She had already moved out of the palace, and currently lived in a small house Yoru jad given to her. She had refused but he just wouldn't take no for an answer.
Today was a special day.
It was the first time Chun Jie had asked anything of Yi Lan. She wanted her to accompany a friend of hers to fulfil a task. What task it was, she hadn't clarified, but Yi Lan didn't bother to ask either. She simply agreed. Yi Lan knew she already owed Chun Jie a lot, and wanted to do something or the else to repay her.
Yi Lan exited her small but cosy abode and that was when she was greeted by a familiar handsome face.
"Yoru? Why are you up so early?" A slightly puzzled but pleased Yi Lan asked. She herself didn't realise how much of an impact Yoru had on her.
Yoru gave a dazzling smile, making Yi Lan unable to look away for a while, until he spoke up. "Good morning Big Sister. I came to check on you. Would you mind accompanying me today?"
He grabbed her hand and rubbed his thumb against her palm. Feeling calm, Yi Lan answered with a shake of her head, "Maybe another day Yoru. I have to accompany someone else today."
Unseen by Yi Lan, Yoru's eyes darkened and his other hand closed into a fist. Seeing that time was running short, Yi Lan yanked her hand back and said, "We'll talk more later, I need to go now."
But before she could leave, she was stopped by a big warm hand. "Wait Big Sister! I can take you wherever you want." Yoru's eyes sparkled in anticipation and Yi Lan almost saw his imaginary fluffy tail wagging.
Not wanting to waste anymore time, she nodded and told him the address. She held out her hand for him to hold, but instead she was knocked off her feet. Her world tilted as she was princess carried in Yoru's hands, that were more muscular than they seemed.
"Wha-?! Idiot! This isn't the time for games!" Yi Lan answered, flustered and slightly irked.
Without a word more, Yoru sprang up high into the sky and they flew over hundreds of areas. This feeling of being air borne was different than the usual one. This time, Yi Lan actually felt satisfied and the urge to free fall grew more intense.
A small smile graced Yi Lan's features, as she thought more and more about the idea of free falling. Her eyes became slightly misted and the whole scene was now captured in her mind.
Her second experience of flying was definitely better than the first one. Was it because she was in Yoru's arms... Or was it because it was the second try?
She looked up and somehow, Yoru looked more manlier than before. Inwardly, she hit her head on the wall seeing his muscles. 'Those muscles.... *drool* I want them too... I'll steal them, one day.... Muhahahaha'
Yoru shivered slightly for a second.
