22 Have some fun
Earth,2018
Meng felt tired. She had just discovered that there were some parts of Yi Lan's memories that she could not access. "Was that hypnotiser a fake?" She murmured rubbing her forehead.
"Currently I don't know about these mobiles, their style of clothes and about the relationship between men." She noted.
It was already morning and she had eaten breakfast. She somehow managed to wear her school uniform, only messing up by wearing socks on her hands and tying the tie on her waist. Their casual wear days had ended with beginning of rain.
Meng quickly pulled on her school bag and wore her school shoes. "Looks like I'm going to be late." She said and walked out.
On the way, she met Sora who was wearing another black suit and eating breakfast while reading the newspaper. He raised an eyebrow elegantly on seeing her attire. "Nice uniform you have there." He drawled out.
Meng stopped awkwardly.
"It would have been more nice if you had worn the socks on your feet and the tie on your neck."
Meng, feeling embarrassed, wore the socks on her feet. She tried to knot the tie, but was unsuccessful.
Sora got up from his chair, wiping his hands. He walked towards her and pulled her closer. His hands clutched the tie ends and in a few moves, he made a perfect tie knot.
As he straightened up her tie, his face drifted closer to hers, making Meng flush slightly. When he became aware, he drew back with a cough. "You should go, it's getting late. Haru's school ends at 5. Don't be late."
She nodded and rushed out. A car was waiting for her. It drove her to her school. With a small sigh, she got out. Meng had never been to school after her parents' death. It wasn't that she was upset about the fact that she didn't have Qi, but more of the fact that her clan members didn't send her on finding her results.
She had little experience with schools. Based on Lan's memories, it certainly wouldn't be easy. "I think it's better for me to pretend I have lost my memories." She muttered.
A voice called out from behind her in surprise. "Yi Lan?"
Meng didn't pay any heed, she wasn't accustomed to people calling her Yi Lan. But she had to turn, when footsteps approached her at a fast speed.
A brown haired boy was running towards her in full speed. He jumped to tackle her, but was kicked on his stomach. He let out a groan as he hit the floor.
"What.. was that for, you blonde bimbo?" He wheezed out.
'Who's this joker?' Meng found out a few seconds later that the boy was none other than Kira, Lan's best friend.
"Uh, sorry. It was a reflex." She mumbled in a polite voice.
He froze in shock. "Yi Lan? Are you alright? Do you have a fever? I heard you were in an accident, but I didn't know it was this bad."
"What do you mean?"
"You just apologised."
"So?"
"You never apologise."
".... Is that so?"
Kira gave her a weird look and took out his phone from his pocket. He dialled a number and said "Hello? 911? I need an ambulance."
Meng quickly grabbed the phone from him and tried to cut the call, but instead dropped it.
".... What did my phone ever do to you?" Kira said crying fake tears, rubbing his poor broken phone.
"I wanted to break this to you slowly, but I guess there's no other option. I've lost my memories and I suffer from Split personality disorder."
He stood still for a while, before laughing. "That's a good one Yi Lan."
"I'm not joking."
He stared at her in shock.
"I currently go by the name Yi Meng. I don't know much, so I'm counting on you." She said and brought her hand forward.
He flinched.
"Eh? You didn't slap me?" He asked.
"Do I look like someone who enjoys beating up people?"
"... Yes."
"I'll just ignore you said that. Let's go. We'll be late to class."
"Okay. Wait, you don't have your memories right? I'm Setagawa Kira, your friend."
Meng nodded in reply.
Both went inside the school. Meng observed the school premises carefully, not wanting to miss anything. Her feelings were a mixture of dread and excitement.
"Hey look, if it isn't the drama queen of the year." A voice sneered.
Meng looked ahead to see a pretty girl standing in front of her. Kira said in a mocking voice "Are you sure it wasn't you?"
"No one's talking to you loser."
"As if I want to talk to the oh so great Mo I'm just telling you to get lost. We have better things to do than waste time on you. Unlike you, we want to pass highschool." Kira laughed.
"You dam-" The girl-Mo Ling lifted her leg to kick him.
In a second, she was thrown to the ground. "Just because you're a girl, doesn't mean I'll hold back. Last time, because I wasn't there you insulted Yi Lan. She didn't hit you because deep down she still considered you as her friend. But it's not the same with me." Kira said with a dark look. He hadn't been with Yi Lan for long, but both trusted each other.
Meng felt touched. She was glad to see that there was someone to support Lan-no, her.
But Kira didn't notice the signal Mo Ling gave to someone behind them. A boy of their age rushed towards them with a heavy book in hand. Just as the book was going to hit Kira, the boy was slammed into the wall.
"Hasn't anyone ever told you that book are meant for reading?" A cold voice spoke, making the boy shiver in fear. Yi Meng stood in front of the boy, her hand on his neck. Kira looked at her in shock.
She released his neck and dusted her hands. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Yi Meng, a split personality of Yi Lan. I prefer peace and non-violence, but....", Meng walked up to Mo Ling and offered a hand. Mo Ling hesitantly accepted it.
Meng yanked her up, her mouth close to Mo Ling's ear and whispered," Do not think that I'm as lenient as Lan. Unlike her, I have no relationship with you. Stay away and you'll be fine. If you come to close... You'll know what will happen." Meng said with a closed eye smile.
Mo Ling snatched back her hand.
"Let's get along." Meng said still smiling and beckned Kira to follow her.
Mo Ling's hands were trembling. 'What's with her? Why does she feel... more dangerous than before?'. Unknowingly, Mo Ling's mind was unkempt by Meng's smile. That smile looked innocent and beautiful, but only some would notice the slight murderous aura emanating from it.
Yi Meng had already decided. She woukd make the best of her chance of living life once again. And for this, she would eliminate all those who came in her way.
She may have been weak back in her world, but in this world? She would never back down.
"Let's have some fun, shall we?" She muttered, a wide, almost crazy smile was plastered on her beautiful face.
Kira was shaking his head thinking. 'She's more violent than before.'
The weak Yi Meng was gone. In place of her was the cruel, slightly blood thirsty Yi Meng.
By the time classes were over, Kira received a message. Meng looked over when she noticed that he was being too quiet. "Something wrong?"
"Everything." He groaned. "I just got a message from my mother. She set me up for a blind date."
"Hmmm...sounds fun."
"It isn't. I've never been on a date." Kira said rubbing his face. "And looks like my date is someone of my age."
He turned abruptly towards Meng and in a pleading voice said "Yi Meng, would you help me? Pleaseee."
"How can I help you?" She asked, her expression neutral.
"Come with me to the date and pretend to be my girlfriend. I don't want to have a relationship now. Knowing my mom, she'll force me to take the girl as my girlfriend. I've only slept with girls, that too on accident because I was drunk. I'll embarass myself."
"It sounds like a lot of work." Meng said yawning.
"Please, please, pretty please?" He made puppy dog eyes.
"Fine." She sighed.
"Then let's go shopping. We'll leave directly."
"Now? But I have to be back by five." Meng said, remembering her new cute son.
"Eh? Alright. We'll be back before then." Kira said and dragged her into a Porsche.
"You're from a well-off family?" Meng asked, trying to make light conversation.
"Yes." He said uncomfortable with the topic.
Not long after, they went inside a clothes store and tried on clothes. Meng had dead fish like eyes. "We've been trying on dresses for three hours. Are you in reality a girl?" Meng asked.
"What nonsense are you saying?!" He laughed, but quickly handed her over another dress. "My dream is to be a fashion designer. But, my parents want me to inherit our family's business."
"Sounds like trouble."
"It is. Now enough chit-chat. Let's go."
He paid for the dresses they selected finally.

"So this is where the date is going to be. Why in the world is it at a bar? " Yi Meng commented with a blank face.
Kira rubbed the back if his neck. "What's mom trying to pull off?"
"Will we be able to go in? We're underage right?" Meng asked, even though she could show her fake birth certificate.
"I think Mom pulled some strings and we'll be able to go inside."
And as expected, both were let in.
They took a seat at the table that had been booked. A few minutes later, footsteps approached the table and a person took a seat in front of them.
With dark blue eyes and pale skin, the person certainly looked beautiful. They were of average height, and dressed ordinarily. Their eyes lit up in a smile, as they saw Kira.
"But no matter how much I look, isn't he a boy?"Yi Meng muttered.
