21 Didn't have that intention
Earth, 2018
Yi Meng was currently having dinner with Haru and Sora. The silence was awkward, disturbed only by the sound of spoons and forks.
'... Would someone mind telling me who this boy is! ?' Meng shouted in her mind, looking at the boy who was seated on her lap, happily chomping on the delicious food.
"If you don't mind, I would like to contact my siblings." Meng said to Sora.
"I'm afraid that's not possible." He said wiping his mouth.
"Why?" She frowns.
"Because they're currently not in the country. They had been feeling troubled by your health issues, so I decided to let them have a vacation."
'He's lying. After seeing Lan's siblings, I know there's no way that they'll leave her alone in the hands of a stranger.' She mused.
Out loud she said," Then when do I have school?"
" Tomorrow."
"So soon?" She asked surprised.
"Why do you look surprised? Isn't this your normal schedule?" Sora asks, doubt shading his eyes.
"You must be knowing that I've lost my memories."
"In such cases, usually people do not forget the basics such as what a car or hospital is. Also, if you plan to call your siblings from school, you'll only be disappointed. Sora looked at Meng while supporting his chin with the palm of his hand.
"I didn't have that intention ." Meng replied coolly. 'This man's a bit dangerous. Finding out my whereabouts, calculating my moves, he' s too complicated for me to read. At least for now. How does he know that I was unaware of cars and hospitals?'
"I'm not under house arrest right?" She asked him, rummaging through Lan's memories for appropriate terms.
"Of course not. You are free to go wherever you want. Just keep in mind, you can't run away." He said indifferently setting down his fork and spoon.
Yi Meng bit her lip, not knowing what to do. She quickly finished her food and noticed that Haru had already finished and was staring at her with big eyes.
She coughed."Something wrong?"
"Mama." He said hugging her.
Meng felt like slamming her head into the wall. She gave a questioning look to Sora.
"He's my son Haru. Technically, you're married to me, so you are his mother." He said.
'Wait, wait, wait. He already has a child? Then why marry me? I knew it, something's wrong about this whole marriage.'
"May I excuse myself?" She asks.
"You aren't a servant. There's no need for you to ask me."
'Can I hit him? Why is he so... nonchalant? As if he doesn't have anything to do with this problem.' Meng felt strangely infuriated.
She lifted Haru from her lap and placed him on the chair. With a smile she said "Good night."
He pulled her shirt's end, a pouty look on his face. "Mama, are you leaving Haru? Please don't go. Haru will miss you."
Meng's heart melted. She always had a soft spot for children. She patted his head and said "Don't worry, I'll meet you again tomorrow."
"But Haru has school tomorrow. Will Mama come to pick up Haru?" He said making puppy eyes.
Meng was at a loss of words, but then she agreed.
"Really! T'ank you Mama!" His eyes sparkled. Meng's lips twitched. 'Did he just say T'ank you? Too.... adorable.' Her hands unconsciously pinched his soft plump cheeks.
"Mama, it hurts." He whined and then gave big kiss on Meng's cheek.
"Alright. Be a good boy and sleep early." She said ruffling his hair and started walking out. Unfortunately, she didn't notice the slightly raised step like structure and she stumbled, only to fall flat on her face.
Warm, hearty laughter rang in the background. To Meng's surprise, Sora was laughing.
'Ugh, So embarassing.' Her face flushed red in colour.
"Mama, are you okay?" Haru asked concerned.
"I'm fine." She muttered, picking herself up. Meanwhile Sora said, "If she's a clutz like this, I wouldn't have to worry about her escaping at all." Meng grew so irritated that even her ears turned red.
Turning back, she growled at him. She thought she would look scary, but the only thought running across the amused Sora's mind was 'Cute.'
She left the room quickly, this time careful to notice any bumps. When she finally reached her bed, she let out a sigh and buried her head in the blanket.
"I'll get revenge for that." Meng said in a childish manner.
"Now then, what should I do? Does this place have a library? I guess it's too late now. For the time being, I should check out Lan's belongings." She said to herself.
She opened her wardrobe and found her schoolbag, books and a few sheets attached together. Curious, she took the binded sheets and looked at the first page."Is this... what they call a comic?" She mused.
She flipped through a few pages, reading the comic along the way. 'Hmm... So it's a story about two boys who are good friends since they were children, but they stopped being friends due to a misunderstanding. Looks like they both liked the same girl and were jealous of each other. It seems pretty interesting.' She continued reading. Just when she thought that the two boys were going to start fighting, her hands froze on seeing a scene.
The two boys who were supposed to fight, were entangled into a passionate embrace. Their lips touched each other's slowly, not wanting to rush anything. It seemed as if they were afraid that one wrong move may break the other.
Meng immediately closed the binded sheet. Her face was calm but her head and heart were in a mess. "Wha-What just happened? Weren't the two guys in love with one girl? So why were they kissing? Can two guys even do so?" Meng's lips slightly trembled. She tried to remember from Lan's memories, but for some reason, no memories came up.
What was this feeling inside Meng? Why did she feel so... unsettled?
Reluctantly, she opened the pages again and continued reading. Her heart beat in excitement, whenever she saw the two boys kissing. She cursed on seeing the girl interfere in the two boys' relationship.
Before, she knew it, she had finished reading all the pages. The comic writer had left the comic at a cliffhanger. Meng bit her nails. She wanted to know what happened next. She looked at the comic writer's name. To ber surprise, the signed name was 'Yi Lan'.
'Yi Lan? But she's not here anymore. Doesn't that mean that this comic will never be completed?' Meng felt like hitting herself. If she had never opened the comic, she wouldn't be so frustrated now.
Meng reluctantly parted with the comic and tried to distract herself with looking around Yi Lan's things. 'I might find the second part.' Meng thought gleefully.
To her utmost dissatisfaction, she didn't find the second part, but she did find a laptop.
A bit confused, she opened the laptop and after a long time, managed to switch it on. When the desktop came up, the wallpaper made Meng gulp. A boy was laughing as a another boy embraced him from behind smiling.
'More.... I want more.' She felt desperate.
A few random clicks made her open the most recent site she had visited. The site looked normal at first. Meng was as calm as water, till the site fully loaded.
*drip drip*
Meng's nose started bleeding when she saw a video of two animated boys naked, doing something she had never imagined. She felt faint and closed the laptop.
"What's wrong with me? Why do I.... like seeing them together? Yi Lan, just what magic did you do? " Meng groaned, wiping her bleedy nose with a tissue. Her previously calm face was now a deep red.
Poor Yi Meng had unknowingly opened a new door, that would change her life forever. She would never be able to look at two boys together the same way as she had before.
