10 Lightning Sword

Outside the Royal castle of Draxis

Three people were headed from the castle into the city,

A boy with flame colored hair named Oren was riding atop a large green serpent named Emera, there was a girl with snow white hair riding behind Him holding His waist, the girls skin seemed to give off a blue aura, Her name was Esholyn, She was the princess of this city. Riding along beside them mounted on a white horse type beast with an electrified blue mane called a lightningsteed was a boy with light blonde hair, His name was Johnny.

Esholyn had set a destination and the boys happily followed.

Right now Oren was having a deep conversation about something with Emera. The two spoke as the group rode along, The two they were riding with couldn't understand them because, Emera could only telepathically speak to Oren, and when Oren spoke to Emera, He actually spoke in a language humans couldn't understand.

"Wait! what do you mean? What about the True Dragons? How does Esholyn have the sky and earth?"....Emera say that again slowly, I couldn't catch it."

"Oren pay attention this time, Im gonna tell you all that I know. Listen you told me yourself that the teacher kept referring to the jewel in Esholyns forehead as the Earthstone, correct?" Emera spoke as if she was a master on the subject at hand.

Oren simply responded, "yes."

"And, I told you that her scepter holds the skystone?"

"Yes" Oren answered again.

"Oren I happen to know a little bit about that so listen closely." Emera clearly voiced. "Millions of years ago, when the True Dragons first came, rather than fight each other over territory they decided it was best to use human and beast made armies to go to war. So, the Dragons granted their armies with power over the elements and magic, naturally when the wars started the human death toll was astronomical, the beasts had it a little better because most animals reproduce faster than humans. So when the humans were nearly wiped out, the Fire Dragons came and fought against the other Dragons, but they also used humans and beasts, causing even more death and chaos. Until, The Ruler of the Heavens decided that all Dragons leave the human realm, or face banishment with their ability to take human form stripped from them, along with a good portion of their power.

The end result being, every single Fire Dragon left the human world. However, most of the the other Elemental Dragons did not, choosing to face banishment instead, thus the Dragons who did not leave had to go into seclusion, because with their power stripped the humans could now kill them. Although, it would still take a few armies or some very powerful people."

"Okay, but what about the Earthstone," Oren interrupted as soon as Emera paused

Emera however didn't respond, Esholyn had triggered her to stop in front of a building.

"Okay Hold on guys Im going inside" Esholyn stated, sliding down from atop of Emera, Johnny also got down from his mount, and walked towards the building pausing to say, "Oren you coming in?"

"Nah I'm gonna stand out here," Oren said, as Johnny disappeared into the building behind Esholyn.

"Okay what about the Earthstone?" Oren repeated immediately to Emera.

"Okay," Emera started speaking again.

"Legend says that 500 years ago, the Dragon of Darkness got His ability to transform back, as well as His full power. When this happened it is said that 2 stones were created by the earth itself. One stone was called the earthstone and the other was called the skystone, it is said that the two stones cannot be separated unless both find an owner, the earthstone was supposed to be bound to a human and the skystone bound to a beast. However, it is known that 5 years ago the Earthstone bound itself to a child, while Her mother who was a powerful witch protected the skystone.

Now it seems that Esholyn is the child who has absorbed the Earthstone, meaning Her mother is the witch who guarded the sky stone, and now Esholyn has them both! Meaning that the story is true and The Dragon of darkness may really unleash chaos upon the world again,".....She paused for a second. Then She spoke again, but Her voice was solemn, "Oren if the Darkness Dragon comes back It will definitely not allow Esholyn or The Queen to remain alive."

Oren didn't speak at first, He just started thinking..... "Okay Emera, I need to speak to the Queen, afterwards we will talk about this some more," He said after a few moments.

At that same time Esholyn came out of the building, She had a small empty cage in one hand and a two man saddle in the other, Oren looked up realizing they were in front of a pet store.

"Oren come down and strap this onto Emeras back," She spoke holding out the saddle,

Oren didn't question it, He hopped down and grabbed the saddle, as this was happening, Johnny was walking out of the store. He had a dog beast following behind Him, The creature seemed to be made of metal, but it was sort of liquid like mercury.

"Hey guys look what I got?" Johnny said excitedly as He exited the store.

Before anyone could answer His question, Johnny spoke again, "Its called a metahound, I named her Merc."

"What does She do?" Oren asked, He knew almost everything had some sort of ability.

Johnny didn't even answer Oren. He just yelled to the metal dog named Merc. "Shield!"

Instantly, Merc jumped up encasing Johnnys entire body in a living metal.

"Wow!" That's pretty cool." Oren exclaimed, while still fastening the saddle to Emera.

As soon as Oren was done, He hopped back atop of Emera, pulling Esholyn up onto the saddle space in front of Him.

"Yea it is! Just wait, She'll be able to do more when she gets older, right now She's very young,"

Johnny was excitedly speaking about Merc. "Down," He Commanded, and the metal slid off of Johnny as the dog took it's original form, then Johnny quickly mounted His lightningsteed.

"Lets go, we should head back to the castle, I have to give this to Mother." Esholyn told them, while lifting up the small cage.

"Well either way, we gotta head back for feast, and afterwards, I have to go duel Harvey." Oren said

"Oh I almost forgot," Esholyn blurted, She had full confidence in Orens ability to beat Harvey.

"Okay lets go," Johnny, yelled as He sped forward.

Johnny led the way as the group headed back to the castle, the metal dog Merc was running closely behind Him, while Esholyn and Oren rode in the back.

"Esholyn what's the cage for?" Oren asked,

"This is something important my mother wanted me to bring Her," Esholyn responded cheerfully, still Oren could tell Esholyn wasn't telling the whole truth.

They traveled through the city fairly quickly. In about half the time it took to get to the shop they made it back.

When they reached the castle it was nearly time for feast, Esholyn went to see Her mother

while Johnny, Oren, and Emera went to Oren and Emeras corridor.

Johnny lived in the city, but stayed at the castle most of the time because, His father was a top warrior of the Queen.

"Yea' Man, thanks for letting me use your shower bro," Johnny was happily chatting with Oren as they walked through the corridor. "You know Me and Harvey are probably not gonna be friends anymore, so I wont be able to stay in His room."

"Don't worry about it man I got you," Oren responded with a smile giving Johnny a friendly back slap.

"Whats mine is yours and whats yours is mine isn't that what friends are for." Oren sincerely told Him." Johnny didn't speak just nodding in agreement.

"Oren, I'm going in my room, I have food being delivered soon, so come get me before the duel."

Emera spoke, as the three reached the only two doors in the corridor.

"No problem," Oren, responded to Her then He and Johnny entered His room as Emera went into Hers.

Oren got in the shower first, then Johnny went in second.

After the boys were clean and dressed, Oren immediately asked Johnny

about the King, also questioning whether or not their was another heir of the Queen.

However Johnny didn't confirm or deny saying only that He couldn't tell Oren because the Queen had told him not to speak about it. Telling Oren his best bet would be to ask the Queen directly.

Oren agreed that's what He should do, and the two headed off to the banquet hall, along the way they spotted Esholyn headed towards them, Her royal dress was quite elegant, and Her skin gave off that beautiful blue aura. Her white snow hair flowing gracefully.

"Hey guys," She waved when She saw them.

The two boys waved back picking up their pace.

When they met up, the group walked to the banquet hall together. Johnny took a seat next to His father who had a good position near the throne.

Esholyn and Oren walked onto the raised platform that the throne and the Heir seats were on, but this time it was just Orens and Esholyns chairs the Queen wasn't there and neither was Her throne.

Esholyn started the banquet, She then announced a few formal things regarding the city's internal affairs, She also promoted a few knights, then sat down to eat.

Oren who was sitting near Her couldn't help but admire how truly capable Esholyn was at handling these matters, being that she was only a year older than He was.

As they ate Oren scanned the attendees of the feast, He realized Harvey wasn't there His seat was empty. Since Harvey was actually a prodigy swordsman, He rightfully sat next to the high ranking knights, but Harvey was nowhere to be found.

However Oren didn't focus on that to much, instead He just sat with Esholyn at the table, which was brought out after She finished speaking. The two ate and chatted, Oren asked about the Earthstone

but Esholyn didn't wish to speak about it. So, Oren switching the subject started asking Her about Her favorite things to do, He even attempted a couple jokes, most of which she didn't laugh at.

They two were growing very close. When they finished eating Oren, and Esholyn sat until the feast was over, and the hall emptied out.

When the room was completely empty the only remaining people were Esholyn, Oren, and Johnny.

"You guys head out to the west yard I gotta go get Emera," Oren was the first to speak as the group gathered outside the banquet hall.

"No problem Oren," Johnny said smiling.

"Yea we'll meet you there," Esholyn also said, giving Oren a quick Hug, then She walked off with Johnny towards the duel site.

Oren made haste towards Emeras room it wasn't too far from the banquet hall anyway, He made it there in a few minutes "Emera" He yelled as He stood outside the room. A couple of minutes Emera emerged.

"Is it time?" She voiced

"Yes it is," Oren answered smiling, while hopping onto Her back, "how do you like the saddle Emera?" Oren joked.

"It doesnt bother me its an enchanted item, so it stretches and moves with my body better than a normal saddle would."

"Okay good, to the west yard!" Oren yelled out dramatically.

Emera just chuckled then took off, She made it to the west yard in minutes, She carefully didn't move to fast but still as quick as a normal person running full speed.

When they arrived Oren could see Harvey standing in the middle of the field, wielding a wooden sword, but on His back He had a real sword in its sheathe, it was different from the normal sword He usually carried around the castle.

Emera immediately alerted Oren, "that is an Elemental weapon on His back."

"Ok no problem," Oren said calmly He had no fear of Harvey.

Oren walked up to Johnny who was standing off to the side with Esholyn.

Johnny handed Oren a wooden sword saying "you do know how to use this don't you."

Oren laughed. "Haha... Not really."

Esholyn also laughed then said, "Oren you better not lose."

Oren winked at Her, then turned towards Harvey.

Oren walked up to Harvey. They stood at a distance of about 10 ft from each other

"So you didn't hide, you chump," Harvey spoke confidently. "Im going to barrass you."

"So make a move then," Oren yelled unaffected by Harveys taunts.

Swoosh.... Harvey moved to land a would be fatal blow, which would end the duel causing him to be victorious.

Oren, however was far superior than Harvey in every aspect, accept sword fighting.

Oren didn't evade or use his wooden sword to block, He simply and very easily grabbed Harveys sword mid swing...Crunchh.... Oren crushed the wooden sword into dust, Harvey who had never seen such a thing tried to back up, but Oren was to fast, before Harvey could even blink.....Swap.... Oren delivered a weak palm slap to Harveys chest. Weak for Oren not for Harvey.

Thud.... Harvey fell to the floor clutching His chest, Oren didnt hit Harvey to cause any internal damage or fatal injury, so Harvey naturally healed instantly.

Harvey stood there terrified, He knew that Oren held back his power, but feeling Orens small bit if strength, He realized If Oren wanted to He could've slapped Him in half.

"Yield Harvey," Oren yelled. He didn't really care about the duel in the first place, but Harvey was a bully, and He needed to be taught a lesson.

"Yield?!" Harveys eyes turned murderous as He screamed. "Oren you are a monster or beast of some kind!! You even talk to that serpent beast you have, and no one has ever had a serpent beast as a mount, you are not fooling me!! You wish to be with MY Esholyn You MONSTER!!.... DIE!!!"

....ZZZZKKT... Harvey pulled His blade from His back sheathe..... ZZZZNNT.... The blade crackled with terrifying electric power.

Whoa... Now this is getting interesting, I like that sword Harvey." Oren yelled out, then continuing He said. "Listen how about, if you beat me I leave the city for good but if I beat you I keep that lightning blade."

"Yea sure no problem If you don't die I will give you this sword plus I will serve you as the new prince for the rest of my life. HAHAHAHA.... Harvey hollered He truly had no intention of letting Oren live. However when Oren heard the words 'new prince' He couldnt help but think is there an old prince, and if so where is He, but Oren had no time to wonder now.

ZZZZZZNNNT.... Harvey made His move He was now fast as lightning itself.

Oren realized Harvey was drawing from the swords energy to increase his potential, allowing him to munipulate the element the weapon uses to a certain degree, but the boost was very significant Harveys speed went up 10 times his previous speed, and no doubt his attack power did the same.

Oren just smiled thinking, that sword will be mine.....ZZZZZZNNNTTT..... As Oren was thinking Harvey closed in and struck out with the lightning sword. ....ZZZZZKKKKKTT.... A massive wave of electrical energy blasted forth.

Oren dodged at the last second, turning to face Harvey, as soon as He cleared the blast,

Harvey might have had a significant boost of power but he was still far from Orens match,

Oren decided to end the fight in one move, just to show His superiority.

After all Harvey was trying to kill Him. Harvey went for another attack ...Swoosh...Before He could even lift His sword again, Oren was right in friont of Him, He was still at least 10 times faster than Harvey, who although He was borrowing power from the lightning blade didn't have full control of the sword and therefore couldn't unleash its' full power.

Harvey now realized Oren tricked him, Oren didn't move quickly because, Harvey thought Orens speed was a trick or magic when they first met, So Oren pretended to be strong, but slow. Causing Harvey to believe He had the speed advantage once He pulled the lightning sword, but Harvey was very wrong.

"Harvey yield to me and I will spare your life, but if you don't you will die."

Oren said menacingly.

Harvey however, had promised Oren His sword and servitude if He lost, how could he give up so easily.

"Never!" Harvey yelled as He tried to launch an attack, but Oren really didn't want to play around anymore, so As soon as Harvey moved a muscle, Oren grabbed His wrist that was holding the sword....Crunnch...Oren shattered the bones in Harveys wrist, causing the sword drop to the ground

"AAAhhhhhhhh" Harvey screamed in pain but still he tried to reach for the lightning sword with his good hand....Whack..... "Don't be stupid" Oren yelled, as He palm slapped Harvey across the face.

Harvey now knew it was over, "kill me," He yelled. Harvey was ashamed, He was scared, He thought dying would be easier than facing the shame of defeat.

"Okay," Oren said, as He reached for the back of Harveys neck.

As soon as Harveys neck felt the heat from Orens palm He screamed, "Oren please I beg of you."

"HAHAHAHAHA," Oren just laughed, still reaching for Harveys neck...SNAP....Oren ripped the sheathe off of Harveys back. "HAHAHAHA Oren continued laughing loudly as Harvey helplessly watched Him pick up and sheathe the sword then walk away, suddenly He turned back to Harvey.

"I expect to see you at my door every morning," Oren said to Harvey with a smile.

Harvey was was still terrified he thought for sure He was a goner but, Oren spared Him.

"Hold on," Harvey yelled, as He quickly healed His wrist.

Then got up, He walked straight up to Oren with His hand out, Oren without hesitation shook his hand then said, "welcome back to the team Harve."
