99 Chapter 99- Holiday

Xiaxia rushed to take a bath and make her burning cheek subside. She quickly fixed herself and got dressed with the parcel that was deliver in her door.

When she checked herself on the ceiling to floor mirror in the walk-in closet, she was amazed how she looked like a highschooler from an aged doctor.

It was a white A-line long sleeve dress with golden embroideries of vines and flowers at its skirt. Those embroideries were golden and shining under the light. It produces a cute elegant vibe especially when it was partnered with the ballet-like flats with golden embroderies of the same style.

She applied light make up for her not to look pale and just a spray of perfume. Her long black hair flowed at her back which is tied into a half bun.

When she got out of her room, what surprised her is the sea of golden daffodils from the staircase down to the wide lounge

In the middle of it is the back of the most familiar built she hasn't seen for the past days. The emptiness inside was suddenly filled with something so warm.

"Brother Shan..."

He turned around and what greeted her is a warm smile on his lips. He is just wearing a white shirt topped with diamond shaped golden stripes. His usually neat combed hair is now messy. He looked so dashing yet mischeivous in this look.

"Let's go." He said and held her hand, leading her to the car waiting outside.

They had a simple breakfast at a resto nearby and after that they went to a carnival which has been a two hour drive from the resto.

It was a bright sunny day and it was not that populated since it's still on weekdays. They ride all types of rides, from the cutest to the most extreme, screaming out their lungs and laughing til they can't breath. They did every single thing that they dreamed on doing since they were young. What a great holiday!

When the sun is about to set, they headed in the Merman's Palace where Mo Zhaoshan owns a villa, the one they used before.

They sat at the same sand where Mo Zhaoshan confessed who he is as they watched how the sun sets over the horizon.

They were enjoying a bottle of 'Mermaid's Bubbles' which is delicacy of the Merman's Palace. It is said to be a drink that came from the sweat of mermaids, collected and fermented for decades.

They sat there quietly as smiles hung on their lips. The wind started to chill and the tide is rising bit by bit.

Mo Zhaoshan unfolded a bandana and covered it on Xiaxia's shoulders.

"Thank you."

Mo Zhaoshan smiled and nodded lightly.

After being silent for a while, there is a sudden fluctuation of the air from joyous to somehow a melancholic vibes. Xiaxia heard how Mo Zhaoshan breathed deeply and sighed heavily.

"Little Xia..." he said.

"Hmm?" She raised her brows and looked at the side profile of the god. He swirled his wine glass and weakly turned his head towards her.

"Tell me..."

"...what do you think...about us?"

Lub...dub...lub...dub..

Her heart slowed down by million times and her ears seems to be deaf by that sudden wave.

"U-us?" She asked.

"Mmm..." he gently nodded while still looking at her with his deep emerald eyes.

Her heart begins to tremble. What does he mean by us? Is it because Mo Li Hua doesn't want me to be near big brother?

However, there is a pich of ache deep within her soul that can't be explained. A feeling of suppressed agony, confusion and fear. She don't want to lose him as her bestfriend, but they're bound to drift away when her big brother marries the mistress and take over the two independent houses.

She sighed and turned her eyes into the horizon as the sun is setting slowly.
