6 Chapter 6- Slap 1

It was 5 in the afternoon and Xiaxia met five patients in total. Though her clinic specializes in pyschotherapy, they also cater other types check ups such as electrocardiogram, chest x-ray, transviginal and rectal utrasound, and other non-surgical procedures.

RING. RING. RING

Hmm? Yaoyao isn't picking up.

She turned her computer off and started to take off her coat and change shoes. I'll just wait for her at the cafè. Maybe she's driving?

"Dr. Bai, we're heading out first." the nurses bid the farewells and slightly bowed.

"En." she plainly said in a slight nod of her head. Making them smile awkwardly.

The girls whispered but still enough to be heard by Xiaxia.

"Dr. Bai is truly a one-word lady. Only Dr. Guan can piss her off."

"Have you heard that she's into girls?"

"Oh myyy. That's why she only hires female nurses isn't it?"

"Right. But she has a girlfriend named Xuanyao. But do you know..."

the nurses who's speaking suddenly felt numbness on her back.

tap. tap. tap

Xiaxia stood infront of them and crossed her arms on her chest. She raised her brows and held her chin up. She still have her glasses and bun. She hasn't "taken off of cold work face" when she heard these little dumplings here.

"A one word lady isn't it?" the three nurses paled upon hearing Xiaxia.

"D-Dr Bai---" the nurse that spoke last called nervously. I'm dead.

"Let me say a few words then, I hired female nurses because of coincidence not by preference. Qualification is a must, but the character is what I look into as well. But seems like I've been mistaken in some point."

"Dr. Bai--- we...."

"If you want to talk behind my back, technically that's infront of me. Didn't you say that you're heading out first?"

"Dr. Bai w-we're sorry"

"True self is what you say and what you do when no one is around" Xiaxia concluded and headed out first.

"Aiyoooo this mouth isn't benefical at all! Wuwuwuwu"

"Let's pray that we still have a job tomorrow"

and everyone prayed in unison

-Lottès Cafe

Xiaxia finished her Cafè au lait about half a sichen ago but still no Xuanyao on sight.

Ring. ring. ring.

Eh? Still not answering?

"Madamme, do you have anything you want?" the waitress said.

"No, thanks. I'm good." Xiaxia politely declined.

The waitress nodded. She's been there a sichen time already.

About ten minutes and she caught a sight of Xuanyao's Volkswagen Lavida. Sigh. Finally.

Xuanyao got off the car with her dashing crimson tinted tailored suit.

Someone next to her is tugging the corner of her suit, trying to embrace her left arm.

"..." Xiaxia tried to see who it is but to no avail. Where's my glasses? She searched her bag quickly and wear it.

But that 'someone' already walked away as Xuanyao fixed her suit. Glancing side by side while walking towards the Cafè.

Did I saw it wrongly?

"Hey babe..." Xuanyao kissed her cheeck lightly.

"Mmm" she just picked up her bag and stood up.

"Let's go?" Xuanyao said as she held Xiaxia's bag and some files.

"Alright." Xiaxia is still confused what just happend but just brushed it off.

They arrived at Xiaxia's place shortly.

"Good night babe, I may not be able to pick you up tomorrow. I have a flight to Singapore early for a business trip." Xuanyao said.

"Ah? So sudden?" Lying. Hmm.

"Yeah. But I'll call you before getting on board, alright?"

"Okay see you then." Then she gave her a slight peck.

Xuanyao went to the car and darted off. While she stood there thinking. Business trip, huh.

Wait.

O.o My gosh, My files! I need to finish those tonight!

Ah, I'll just get it from her after dinner.
