11 Welcome to No Innocence Land

Yu was still passed out after killing Negan and Dai was watching her. All of the mages, save for Yu, was slaughtered and their blood covered the ground and the demon army. "This war is our victory." Eli tells Dai, who smiled at him. Eli gazed at Yu. Eli was back in his human form. He had his horns coated in blood.

"What happened to Queen Yu?" Eli asked, concerned about his Queen. Dai smiled at Eli's concern of the woman he has unknowingly fallen for.

"She killed the commander of the mages using her half mage power. She fainted due to overuse and no training." Dai explained, picking up Yu to hold her in his arms to guarantee her safety in his hold.

"Her innocence..." Eli paused in his sentence as Dai gave him a sad smile.

"Yeah, it's gone once she wakes up and remembers that she had killed Negan." Dai tells Eli, gazing down at Yu. Eli gazed down at his Queen. He didn't want her to become a killing machine. People can enjoy killing, but I don't want Queen Yu to be like that. King Dai isn't even like that, but humans and other races accused him of being a mindless beast when he's not like that. Eli thought.

Dai was thankful that Yu actually enjoys being around in his company because of her half mortal and half mage status. Mages are said to hate every other race that exist and Yu is proof that he shouldn't judge based on stereotypes and one person impression. Dai also knows about the child that Negan had murdered in cold blood because she had simply questioned about not wanting to fight in the war the demon army had just won.

He felt sick to his stomach remembering that Yu had called out Negan for murdering the child. Yu stirred in his arms and he smiled, wanting to see her beautiful hazel eyes.

Yu smiled at him and then her memories of the fight with Negan had returned. She gazed at her hand that she had punched Negan with. She saw the blood on her hand and she suppressed a sob. Dai's smile had turned into a frown and he hugged Yu from the back. "I...killed someone." Yu says, suppressing her broken sobs.

"It's alright. It was war. He was despicable. You've done nothing wrong." Dai reassures Yu.

Yu didn't believe Dai as she broke down into broken sobs as tears fell from her eyes. Dai silently held onto her, letting her cry it all out. Welcome to No Innocence Land. He had thought. He knew that Yu was too kindhearted and murdering a person, despite him being an enemy, would mentally destroy her.

"I promised myself that I wouldn't slay another person, but I betrayed myself. Does that make me evil? Does that make me deserving of Hell?" Yu asked Dai and Dai pulled Yu closer to him. Dai tilted Yu's head to look into her eyes. Dai saw the guilt in her eyes. Yu truly believed that she was worst of the worst. Dai's heart hurt at the sight of the heartbroken Yu.

"No, it doesn't. You're my wife and you killed an enemy that was trying to kill us. That doesn't make you a horrible person." Dai tells Yu, trying to reassure her of any wrongdoing she thinks she had done.

Yu calmed down, but the tears continued to fall down her beautiful face. Dai was glad that her sobs had stopped because he knew that he couldn't handle hearing her sobbing while she was in his arms. Dai felt bad that he couldn't truly help her get able of her very first kill.

Eli watched the two people encase each other and he smiled sadly. I wish I had my mate. He thought sadly. He wasn't jealous of his King as he knew that he was bound to find his mate sooner or later and he found his mate while she was being sold to him just to keep him from destroying the cowardly humans. Eli knew that King Dai and Queen Yu make a great couple, but he knew that they would have to figure out their feelings for one another first before they could become the power couple. Eli then realized that with both a King and a Queen, the demon army could be ruled by King Dai, Queen Yu, and himself. Eli smiled at the thought, knowing that the army would want to protect their new Queen. He then frowned, knowing that she was currently suffering from her very first kill. Eli didn't want Queen Yu to feel guilty for protecting both herself and King Dai.

The demon army had moved out while Dai and Yu were sitting in the throne. Yu was in Dai's lap as he rubbed his hands up and down her back, comforting her while Yu was having a nightmare about killing Negan. Dai felt bad for Yu, but he knew that she would have to forgive herself and accept her Maxina power as her own. Dai found a place for them to rest up and since it was still daylight, Dai decided to let Yu look into her reflection from a river that showed Dai their next destination by flowing very easily.

Dai watched Yu as she stared, not moving from the spot that Dai had set her down at. Yu was sitting with her legs under her as she stared down at herself, feeling like a monster. Remembering her nightmare and what she had done, Yu started to cry again. Her tears fell into the river and Yu finally let herself cry out all of her pain and guilt.
