19 Their Second Meeting
"What dress?" this time it was Charlie who asked the question. "The sane she wore for Rose's party" Samuel stated with a smile. He had been invited to the birthday party that day as a plus one and he had seen Annabelle in the dress. He was also pleasantly surprised when he learned she designed the dress from Grandma Adrian.
After they had gotten every bit of information from Annabelle. Grandma Adrian left the four to report for the start of their internship. As she stepped out of the company she saw a beautiful black may Bach roll to a stop.
She was still admiring the car when she saw the owner of the car alight from the back as the door was opened for him by someone who was most likely his assistant. She saw rows of people she had not noticed before in tight fitted suits bow to greet the young man stepping out of the car all greeting "Welcome back president" in a tone that was neither too harsh nor too soft.
Looking closely at the man, she thought to herself 'It must be nice to be rich' but when the man turned to face him. She was too shocked to register anything that was happening and bowed her head deep in thoughts.
'That man, was he not the one who had helped Annabelle the other day' she frowned as she tried to look at him again to be sure but when she raised her head again, the man had already disappeared.
Her eyes must be deceiving her she thought to herself as she continued on her way. What she failed to notice was the young man had already stopped to take a good look at her.
Lester smiled when he saw the old woman, he knew she must have been in the company by now. He had gone on a business trip for almost a month now after he had gone to their university to ask for the four students.
The trip was supposed to last for a few more weeks but he had rushed back yesterday night so he could be at the company today when the interns were being given a tour. He had not even gotten a good night's rest when he decided to start looking for the perfect clothes to wear to meet her.
After much contemplating he finally settled on a navy suit with a blue pocket square and tie. His employees were surprised seeing him in something different from his usual black suits.
Meanwhile in the human resource office
Annabelle and her friends were already seated in the office waiting for their reporting officer when they started hearing the conversation that was going around as the President just arrived.
"The President was not supposed to return today but he suddenly came back," one of the employees in her cubicle said. She was on the company's website and just happened to see the news.
"Oh my God!!! he even looks more handsome" another female employee exclaimed. "Wait, is it my eyes or did our President wear a navy suit today?" "That is a lie our President wears just black" "No it is true" the atmosphere was filled with excitement but the four new addition to the company was not in the least interested.
Samantha was getting restless and stood up from her chair dragging Annabelle with her. She stormed off to meet with a member of staff. They were all still busy discussing the President and did not notice the two standing before them.
Samantha knocked on the table *rap rap rap* the particular staff member was angry and started glaring daggers at the two girls in front of her. Even with that Samantha did not back down.
"WHAT" the female employee snapped. Looking at the two girls in front of her she was even angrier. Another competition she needed to eliminate. "I am sorry but we don't mean to disturb. We just wanted to ask who our reporting officer is"
"Oh, you are the new interns" Her tone took a complete 180 turn. At least she knew they would not be here for long. A lot of people were vying for the position of Mrs. Lester and she was one of them, seeing her competitions were not really competition s she changed her attitude.
Smiling at them "You could have said so earlier, your reporting officer stepped out not long ago but I can take you and your friends around for the time being if you would like that"
"Thank you so much, you are such a lifesaver," Samantha said happily to the Female employee. "Please feel free to call me Jessica," the female employee said "Let me just tidy up some things and we will be on our way. Why don't you call your other friends and we will meet outside"
As Jessica said this she started clearing up her desk Samantha and Annabelle walked back to the boys who were enjoying themselves with a game they were playing.
Looking at them Samantha shook her head "Boys" she said. Earning a laugh from Annabelle. "pfft, Jessica said we should wait outside for her. She wants to take us on a tour. I bet we can find a PlayStation for you two" Annabelle said playfully.
"We are not kids" Charlie and Samuel both said at the same time. Annabelle and Samantha gave each other a knowing look before they started laughing at the two.
Soon the four were out of the office with Jessica giving them a tour of the whole building. They were almost done with the tour when Annabelle excused herself. She needed to go to the restroom, Samantha wanted to go with her but she gave up when Annabelle rejected her.
After Annabelle was done in the restroom she came out but missed up the directions she was supposed to go and ended up walking in circles till she came to an empty hallway.
Annabelle was confused about where next to go. She took out her phone to call Samantha after she had given up hope of finding the right direction. She was about to dial her number when she heard a voice coming from her left.
Turning her head from her phone to the voice she saw a beautiful man in a navy suit standing not far from her. She smiled at him as she thought he was also an employee given his youthful look. She was happy to see the man who was like a savior to her.
Annabelle knew Samantha would have made fun of her with the boys if she had called her before seeing the man. Smiling brightly she went closer to the man "I hope I am not disturbing you sir but could you point me in the direction of the human resource office?"
"I kind of lost my way after I was done with my business, I hope you don't mind me asking this of you" when the man did not respond but continued staring at her. She laughed awkwardly "Actually, I am a new intern here and I am not exactly used to the place, I came with my friends but they would make fun of me if I was to call them now"
