15 Elisa's Parents

It had been almost a month since the incident with Annabelle happened and she was particularly enjoying her stay with the twin. Charlie had gotten her whereabouts from pestering Samuel too much and ever since it had been uneventful.

There was only about half a year left to their graduation and they planned on making the most of it. Luckily for them, their projects were interwoven allowing them to intern in Alexander corporations which was a miracle to them but in actuality the work of Lester.

Lester had been monitoring well more like stalking Annabelle since she was hospitalized and had been helping her in the shadows ever since and this help included those who were helping Annabelle. These included the twins, Charlie and Grandma Adrian. Although he was skeptical about helping Charlie he still tried his best.

Just a week before they were assigned their final projects Lester had paid their university a visit. He had asked for the four students which was a first for the University but also a way of integrating four of their best students into the largest company.

Elisa's parents were paying her a visit since they were in town, they couldn't miss the opportunity to visit their precious princess. They already planned on surprising Elisa and as such did not inform her of their visit.

Elisa was sitting in the living room of her Condo and lazily switching the television channels when she heard her doorbell ring. A maid came out from the kitchen and hurriedly went to the door. Getting there she bowed respectfully to the couple.

"Sir and madam," the maid said as a sign of greeting. As soon as Elisa heard them she ran up to her parents, smiling sweetly like a child. Mrs. Parker Elisa's mother was elated to see her only daughter.

"My goodness, have you been eating child? why don't you even have any fat left in you and to think I let your father talk me into allowing you to move out alone" her mother was busy rambling on making Elisa giggle.

"What is funny princess? Mother has been worried sick about you" Mrs. Parker frowned."I know you are worried mother but you don't have to be" turning to her father she added "My final exams are starting soon, if I don't look the part, then who is going to believe me. I also don't want to get fat anyway" Elisa pouted like a small child used to getting what she wants.

"How are Rose and Emma?" Mrs. Parker asked her daughter. "They are fine mother. Rose still talked about you some days ago. I am sure the girls would love to see you" Elisa replied happily. Sneering Mrs. Parker asked, "I hope that does not include that homeless orphan?"

"Woman, be careful of how you speak ill of others especially our savior. We both know the only reason Elisa is graduating is...." hearing him shout at her Mrs. Parker was almost angered to death. Snapping at her husband she asked "Is what? Why don't you continue what you were saying Mr"

Elisa looked at her parents that were quarreling. Surprisingly, she did not feel like stopping them. Mr. Parker noticed his daughter's reaction, shaking his head he asked her "Dear when was the last time you spoke to Annabelle?". Laughing hysterically Mrs. Parker retorted " Why exactly should my precious daughter be in contact with that pauper?" Mrs. Parker clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"Mom it is okay, I haven't heard from her or seen her since Rose's birthday" Elisa decided to stop their argument. "See that is how a Parker should behave, I wonder where you left your backbone as her father" Mrs. Parker glared at her husband.

"Fine whatever it is you think is right. I was just looking out for her, you know there are a lot of people vying for my company. I believe in you princess, trust me I do but this degree of yours is going to set you for life" Mr. Parker didn't want to continue with his reasonings, he knew his daughter was weak with her studies.

As a father, he had tried all he could, even resulting in bribes for his daughter to get a good grade. Luckily for them, Annabelle came, sadly he was against the idea but seeing how brilliant she was, he could not let go of his greed. The mother and daughter may not have understood his intentions but getting Annabelle on their side will really help his company a lot.

Thinking about this matter for some time Mrs. Parker also saw the reasoning behind her husband's words. Looking at her daughter, she carefully chose her topic for discussion. "Elisa dear, how close are you to that girl?" "Why do I have to be close to someone who is not even worthy to carry my shoes?" Elisa retorted angrily.

"You do not want Rose and Emma to graduate with a better grade than you, or do you?" Mrs. Parker sighed before continuing "You said it yourself that Rose has always treated her better than you and Emma. Why exactly do you think that is?"

"I.....I " Elisa was rather speechless hearing her mother's words. How could she not remember, she had always been the weakest in the group. Even without Annabelle's help Rose and Emma would still do well when the exams came. Her case was very different from theirs, she needed Annabelle to be able to pass her exams before she could even think of graduating.

Mr. Parker looked at his daughter and after noticing she was deep in thoughts, he sighed in relief. "Let her know she has a job with our company once she graduates. That way we can guarantee she will continue to help us without her revealing the truth to anyone"

Nodding her head Mrs. Parker thought her husband's words were indeed right. Adding to the discussion she said "Why don't you invite her over for dinner, we could use that to source more information out of her. That way she remains loyal to us"

"Alright, mom and dad. I will be sure to do that. So can we please move on to another topic, hmm, how about we all go out for dinner?. I need to do something to take my mind off this matter, I will just deal with Annabelle tomorrow" as Elisa said this, she stood up while grabbing their coats.

Seeing that their daughter already understood the situation, they both stood up making their way to the door. "So dear what are you thinking of eating, Chinese, Italian? Well don't worry I saw a new restaurant on our way here, why don't we just go there instead?" Mrs. Parker continued her discussion as they stepped out of Elisa's apartment.
