98 WHO WAS HE?

Liu Yang had been busy the whole morning that she even forgot to take her lunch. As she returned to her desk, her stomach started grumbling like crazy. Exhaustion and hunger washed over her that she is torn in between sleeping or eating.

Knock! Knock!

She looked up when she heard a knock on her office's door and saw Wan Li holding a bag of take-out.

"Where have been? I've been calling you all day and did not even send me a text?! Here," he berated and put the bag on her desk in front of her.

Liu Yang only smiled, opened the bag and happily dug in without even answering Wan Li. This infuriated the latter.

"Look at you! You don't even know how to thank me for my kindness, how ungrateful," Wan Li pouted and took a seat.

"Ummm, sorry. I'm just starving, super," she uttered with her mouth full. She drank the soda and felt satisfied with her meal. Then, she gave a big smile to her friend in front of her.

"My dear friend, thank you for bringing a meal for me. You are my life saver." Liu Yang tried to reach him from across her desk but Wan Li blocked it with his arms.

"Ewww! Get away from me. Oh, and it's not free," he held out his palm to her, "…the meal costs 30 Yuan."

Liu Yang looked at dubiously. "Are you for real? I'm your friend!"

"And so?" he raised his brows. "Money! And plus 10 Yuan for labor."

"Labor your ass! Here! So petty," she protested but still handed the money and put it on his palm.

"Now, back to business." Wan Li narrowed his eyes at her, "Tell me what happened on Saturday?"

At the mention of 'Saturday', Liu Yang's heart skipped a beat. She pretended to be tired and leaned on the swivel chair, and closed her eyes. "I'm tired, go back. It's already working hours, you should go back to your post."

"There's nothing more to do and I told my intern to text me if there's an emergency. Come on, tell me!"

She slowly opened her eyes and glared at him. "God! You are making your intern a slave?! You're awful!"

Wan Li rolled his eyes at her remarks. "She's not a slave. All she does is photocopy, sit, and encode…I think? But anyway, she's not a slave and don't change the topic, dear. Come on! Tell me about it !"

Liu Yang massaged her temples. "Oh, God why me?"

She looked at Wan Li's giddy eyes and could not help but laugh at him. She crossed her arms on her desk and propped her chin on it.

"We just ate and talked. That's all, nothing serious or anything romantic happened."

"Really?" he looked at her doubtfully. "You did not kiss or something?"

"Kiss?! As if I would let him!" she exclaimed.

Wan Li thought about it and agreed, "Well, yeah, figures." Then, he popped the most critical question. "Oh, who was he? What's his name? What does he do in life? Is he from the elite circle, because judging from how he…"

Liu Yang raised her hand to silence him. She could not take it when he started to open his big mouth because once he does, it'll never going to stop.

"What?"

"One question at a time, please."

"Okay. Tell me about his identity."

She shifted on her seat and contemplated. Should she Wan Li who he is? What if he is not willing to let anybody else know about him? Or about them? Maybe she should ask him first. Liu Yang bit her lip and was about to send him a message when she realized she doesn't have his number.

"Hey," Wan Li called. He waved his hand when he saw her dazed state. "Is it that hard to tell me his name?"

"No," she said with a frown. "It's just that, his identity is not that simple."

"Really!?" Wan Li exclaimed with his eyes wide.

Liu Yang felt that Wan Li grew a pair of antennae on his head. This gossip-monger, really…

"Don't be shocked. And please don't tell anyone about it."

"Stop the nonsense and just tell me who he is!"

She inhaled deeply. "His name is Niu Guan Ning, the second son of the Niu family, the brother of the owner of this company, the cousin of Su Bin, and the future CEO of Yinyang Enterprise."
