94 LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE
Monday.
Liu Yang woke up early in the morning. She had a morning meeting with her team at 7:30 and need to be in the Publishing before the time.
After blowing her hair dry, she tied it into a ponytail, put on some lipstick and checked herself in the mirror. Before leaving, she made sure that Muse is well-fed.
Downstairs, the guard on duty greeted her a good morning which she reciprocated. As she stepped out of the building, she stopped in her tracks as she saw a familiar car parked with a man leaning on it.
----
Guan was leaning on his car, waiting for Liu Yang patiently. He was about to light a cigarette when he saw her walking out of the building. He immediately put it inside his pocket and took big strides towards her as he noticed how she slowed down her steps.
Standing in front of her, he noticed how bare her face is right now. He had seen different kinds of women almost every day. They were beautiful, yes, but facing her here right at this moment, he could say that they were all inferior compared to her. Is it the make-up? Probably not.
"What are you doing here?" she asked with a knotted forehead. Snapping him out of his reverie.
He shrugged and answered, "I'm sending you to the publishing."
"Why?"
"Because we're dating, that's why."
Liu Yang rolled her eyes. "No, thank you." She's about to flag for a taxi when Guan took the things in her hands.
He said in English, "Gimme all of these," and put it inside his car. Then, he grabbed Liu Yang by the wrist and dragged her to his car. She tried resisting but Guan is more powerful than her, she had no choice but to obey. He covered her head as she entered the car.
Inside the car.
"Have you had breakfast?" he asked as he put on his seatbelt while looking at her.
"I had a glass of warm water." She replied in a dead-panned tone.
He frowned and felt a bit annoyed. "What?! Good thing I bought some before coming here." He retrieved something from the back seat and gave it to her.
Guan put it on her lap and started the car. She looked down at the take-out. The packaging is from a known restaurant in Xinjiang and only people like him could afford.
"Why are you doing this?" Liu Yang could not help but question his actions.
He glanced at her for a moment then back at the road. "What's with the question? Of course, I'm doing this because we're dating. Do I have any other reason to do this?"
She felt a headache coming. Liu Yang closed her eyes and massaged her glabella. "I said I'm going to help you forget Ms. Min, but not this."
"It's part of the deal. And how am I going to forget her if we won't do what normal people do when they're dating."
Liu Yang's shoulders dropped when she heard it. He has a point but…she felt somewhat bothered by it.
The car stopped in front of Yinyang Publishing. Noticing that he is going to open the door for her, she immediately opened the door beside her and instantly got out of the car.
Liu Yang almost ran towards the building when he shouted her name. She bit her lower lip and glanced at her surroundings for any colleague in sight before turning to face him.
Guan alighted from his car with her stuff in his hands. "You forgot these."
"Oh." She strode back and retrieved her stuff.
"Sill, why are you so forgetful," he ruffled her hair with a smile.
Liu Yang went stiff. The spot where he ruffled felt warm from his touch even though he already withdrew his hand.
"Go, you might be late. I'll call you later."
She blinked several times. "Yeah, bye," she absent-mindedly answered.
Before stepping into his car, Guan winked at her. "See you later."
The car was already long gone but Liu Yang is still stood rooted to the ground with her hand on her head, in a daze.
