After knowing that Liu Yang agreed to meet him on Saturday, Guan became busy that week not because of company matters but because of preparing for the said blind date. He even excused himself from going to the company saying he's not feeling well.
On Wednesday, he asked Su Bin to come to his home early. The moment Su Bin stepped foot at his home, he tossed him his car key, surprising the latter.
"Drive. We're going to your girlfriend," he said as he walked past him with his dark glasses on.
Su Bin blinked a few times innocently. "What?" He glanced at his wrist and noticed that it's 8 in the morning. Yu Mei must only be arriving at her apartment right now, or worse she's still at the hospital.
He dashed outside to chase after his cousin. "Hey, I'll call her first," he said in an almost annoyed tone. He thought, 'Why must he be asking to meet Yu Mei this early? What does he want? She's probably dead tired right now.'
Su Bin begrudgingly fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed Yu Mei's number. It rang a couple of times before someone picked up.
"Hello?" Yu Mei's voice sounded raspy like she'd just woke up.
"Did I wake you up? We…"
"We're coming over right now." Before Su Bin could even finish his sentence, Guan snatched his phone from his clutch. After hanging up, Guan gave it back to him and entered the car. All Su Bin could do is shake his head and follow him.
Su Bin took the driver's seat and started the car. He focused his attention on the road and ignored his cousin beside him.
A while later, he saw from his peripheral view, Guan is on the phone talking to someone. He clearly heard the conversation because of the silence.
"Mother, it's me. The villa that you told me back then, is it still available? Yeah? I decided I'm going to stay there. Thank you, Mother. Goodbye."
Su Bin swung his head and narrowed his eyes. "Villa? Where?"
Guan propped his hand on the window and rested his chin on it. "On the east side of the city. Father bid for that land and decided to build a house there and Mother begged him to give it to me when I come home. It doesn't have a name yet."
"Oh. Can I stay there, too?"
Guan glared at him as an answer.
The two men arrived at the apartment building. Before going up, they cautiously observed the surroundings for threats. After confirming that the place is media free, they went up.
Yu Mei was sleeping soundly when she heard the doorbell rang. She reckoned that it's Su Bin and Guan so, she dragged her exhausted body to open it. She told them to sit on the couch and prepared tea for them.
With the help of Su Bin, Yu Mei put the pot of tea on the coffee table with some snacks. She poured each cup and handed it to them. She took the seat in front and started a conversation.
"So, why are you here?" she said after sipping tea, her question is directed at Guan.
"Tell me Liu Yang's favorite color, flowers, food, everything that she likes. All of it," Guan said bluntly.
Yu Mei chuckled. "That's it? Okay."
She continued, "Yang is allergic to pungent smelling perfumes. You shouldn't wear those during your date, or else she'll be sneezing the night off. She likes yellow and green colors, it makes her relaxed. Yang loves seafood especially shrimp. That's it."
"All of it?" Guan is looking at her straight in the eyes, no blinking.
Yu Mei confidently said, "All of it."
Guan took a deep breath. "Okay. Thank you," and held his hand out to her.
Yu Mei accepted it with a smirk.
Starting from that day, Guan Ning instructed the servants assigned by her mother to clean the villa.
As Saturday came, Guan decided to wear a suit instead of being casual. He faced the big pond, waiting for her. After half an hour, he heard the clicking of heels on the wood planks. He drew a long breath with a smile. 'She's already here.'
"Sir, the guest has arrived."
Guan straightened his body and slowly turned to face the woman. He nodded at the staff who immediately turned to leave. As he looked at Liu Yang, he saw her shocked face that amused him.
"You…" she said.
He grinned. "Why? Were you disappointed that it's me?"
