85 MAKE-OVER 1

Saturday.

The sun is shining beautifully up in the sky making one in a jovial mood. Liu Yang woke up with the shuffling noise made by Wan Li inside the room. She lazily opened her eyes and saw him packing his stuff.

"Where are you going?" she asked in a raspy voice. She glanced at the alarm clock on her bedside and saw that it's already 8 in the morning. She slept in – Wan Li must have turned the alarm off.

"I'm going home since our workload is not that heavy anymore. And I'm worried about Lili."

Liu Yang's brow raised as she sat up and leaned on the headboard. "So, you're about your sister now?" she giggled and continued, "I really pray your beloved house is still okay."

Wan Li stopped what he was doing and looked at her then shrugged, "I don't have much choice, she's my sister, alright. I'll choke her to death if there's even a slight scratch on my house."

"Eat breakfast before you go."

"Hmm."

The two of them sat on the dining table, eating the simple breakfast that Liu Yang prepared. They were eating peacefully when Liu Yang's phone ring. She saw that it was Yu Mei and put it on speaker.

"Yes, Mei?"

They first heard the sound of someone yawning then, "Yang, you still remember you have a date later, right?"

"You…did you just got home from your shift?" Wan Li scolded.

"Yup. Yang…" Yu Mei whined.

"Yeah, I do. Why?" this time, Liu Yang finally said.

"Good. At 7 pm tonight, someone will pick you up from your apartment."

"To where?" Liu Yang looked at Wan Li, full of confusion while the latter narrowed his eyes and turned to the phone in front of them. Both of them halted their breakfast.

"Is Liu Yang's date some sort of a big shot?"

On the other end of the line, Yu Mei bit her lower lip; she promised Guan not to divulge his identity. "You'll know when you meet him." She hung up immediately, trying to evade their questions.

"Mei? Hello?" Wan Li pouted, "Great! She hung up on us."

"It's fine. Maybe she's very tired."

"Hey, you have to do some make-over. Look how dull you are," Wan Li started criticizing her again.

Liu Yang rolled her eyes and continued eating her breakfast, ignoring him. After eating, she rose from her seat, put the utensils on the sink and went to her bedroom to go back to sleep, she continued ignoring Wan Li.

Wan Li once again pouted for being ignored. He took his phone and dialed a number while warily looking at Liu Yang's bedroom door.

"Jun, where are you?"

"Busy? Make time today, just today, please?"

"It's urgent."

"Yang's house. Now!"

Liu Yang had no idea about Wan Li's plan. As she laid her head on the pillow, she immediately dozed off to sleep.

Li Jun arrived thirty minutes after Wan Li's call with a grumpy face. He really is busy that day.

"What's with the face?" Wan Li asked as he opened the door and Li Jun's grumpy look greeted him.

"I'm really busy. What's so urgent that I have to make excuses at the office? I almost got fired, hell!" Li Jun protested.

"Shush! Yang's sleeping. Do you still remember about the blind date Yu Mei told us?"

"Uh-huh. Why?"

Li Jun looked confusedly at Wan Li who winked at him. With that one wink, he immediately understood what he meant by it.

The two of them entered Yang's bedroom on tiptoes – trying not to wake Liu Yang up, and rummaged through her closet, finding the right dress for her 'blind-date' tonight.

"Did you brought your make-up kit?" Wan Li whispered. Li Jun nodded while busily choosing a dress. He narrowed his eyes as he saw a chic yellow dress on the corner of the closet. Li Jun carefully took it and laid it in front of him.

"This is the dress I gave her on her birthday two years ago, remember?"

Wan Li eyed it suspiciously. "Yeah. I've never seen her on it. Maybe, she doesn't like it?"

"No way! It's her favorite color!" Li Jun exclaimed but his voice is still low. He felt a little bit aggrieved knowing that Yang hasn't put it on any occasion, ever. Just then, he decided, tonight, Yang must wear this dress.
