82 SMALL REQUES

Three weeks had past and there's still no answer on Liu Yang's end and, Guan's patience is now wearing thin. He's sitting along inside the office today, finalizing the preparations about the incoming event which is only weeks away. Su Bin is out to buy food for them while Guan Qing is in a meeting.

As he was browsing through the files, a specific folder caught his eyes. He took it and his eyes glowed looking at the characters written on it – 'Guest List'.

He flipped and scanned through it. When he found what he'd been looking for, his brows formed into a tight knot. Just then, the door opened. He looked up and saw his brother with his secretary behind.

Guan Qing went straight to his desk and gave some instructions to his secretary. Passing by Guan, she gave him a seductive smile and even bit her lips, the latter smirked and shook his head slowly, feeling amused as the door to the office closed.

He stood and walked towards his brother with the folder in his hand. "Ge, can I make a small request? It's regarding the event."

Guan Qing, who is reading some documents, looked up to him and said, "What is it?" his eyes darted on the folder on Guan's hand.

"I know that all the guests invited have a good relationship with Yinyang," he paused and looked at his brother, "…and some are executives of the subsidiary companies."

Puzzled, Guan Qing raised his brows, "What's your point?"

Guan cleared his throat. "Isn't Yinyang Publishing our subsidiary?"

He saw his brother nodded then he continued, "It's just that…I saw that only the managing and finance department were on the list."

"Your sis-in-law was the one who is responsible for that. Just get to the point." Guan Qing is on a business mode facing his brother, as if negotiating a contract.

"Ge, how about we invite the editors of the publishing?"

Guan Qing narrowed his eyes to his little in front of him that made Guan uncomfortable. He darted his eyes to the view outside. Then, he heard his brother say, "Okay. I'll contact Min Chu right away."

Guan felt extreme happiness inside of him that he can't even explain. He suppressed a smile from surfacing on his face and walked back towards the sofa.

Liu Yang massaged her right shoulder and leaned her back on the chair. Finally, all went according to plan and they could submit according to the deadline. She smiled when she felt her phone vibrating.

"Yang, where are you? Wanna go have lunch with me?" Yu Mei's energetic voice can be heard.

Liu Yang giggled. "Young Miss Yu, is your boyfriend not treating you right?"

"Of course he is! Come on, let's have lunch. My treat," Liu Yang could see Yu Mei pouting in her head.

"Fine, fine. I'll inform Wan Li. Send me address."

"Okay, see you!"

A while later, Liu Yang and Wan Li arrived in a fancy restaurant. They were ushered by a staff in a private room. Since they were used eating at an expensive restaurants like this, the two of them were not surprised when Yu Mei sent her the address of the place.

As they enter, they saw Yu Mei casually sipping tea with a phone in hand talking to someone.

"Oh, they're here already. Bye babe, love you!" Yu Mei from her seat and hugged the two of them. "I already ordered. Let's have a seat. Tea?"

They both rolled their eyes at her that made Yu Mei giggled. Amongst the four of them, only Yu Mei is fond of tea, while the three of them prefer coffee.

Soon after, the food arrived. Wan Li almost salivated looking at the food. He really is famished working all morning as well as Liu Yang.

Das they were digging in, Wan Li asked, "What's with you today. Asking us out all of a sudden. And where's Jun?"

"To be honest, I only wanted to eat with Yang but then, you worked on the same company so, she brought you along. Jun said he's busy."

"So I'm just an option now?"

Yu Mei scoffed. "Shut up." She turned to Liu Yang, "Yang, I'm here to talk to you about your blind date. When will you go out with him?"

"What?! Blind date?" Wan Li exclaimed and narrowed his eyes at the two women.
