81 CURIOUS
Guan Ning dragged Su Bin's body and throws it on the couch, making the latter wince in pain. He walked towards the kitchen, opened the fridge, and retrieved two cans of beer which he tossed to Su Bin who looked confused at his actions.
With hesitation, he twisted the lid of the can open and took big gulps while looking at his cousin cautiously; afraid that he'll go berserk again.
In the living room, the two of them sat silently, facing each other. After lighting a cigarette, Guan Ning tossed the lighter on the table, making an odd noise that made Su Bin jolt in surprise on his seat as he breathed out a big cloud of smoke.
Su Bin could see the piercing gaze given to him by Guan in between the smoke. But the latter still did not utter any sound. He could tell that he is fuming with anger.
"Why?" Guan Ning talked at last – after a long period of silence.
"W…why, what?" Su Bin's head is full of wonder what was happening to the man in front of him. What the hell is wrong anyway for him to be angry this way?!
Guan Ning smirked that send shiver down Su Bin's spine. "You still don't know, do you?" he paused and flicked the ash on his cigarette while looking at him. He continued, "Then let me lay them all out for you."
Su Bin sensed that something is not right. The Guan Ning in front of him right now looks like his father lecturing his own children – the dominance and aura, all these resembled to Niu Yizhang.
Then, he heard him say, "First, you went to her apartment without telling me. Second, you said you would send me all the information you have about her but, you didn't. And lastly, you didn't tell me that she was inside the café. What kind of a friend are you?"
That was it? So, it was all about Liu Yang? Su Bin is speechless at the moment. He didn't know if he should laugh or cry about it. All he know is, he could not wait to go home and tell everything to Yu Mei.
"What? You now realized all the mistakes you've made and turned mute?" Guan narrowed his eyes.
Su Bin cleared his throat and finally found his voice. "Correction, I'm not just your friend, I'm your cousin."
"Tch, even worse," Guan uttered.
"You sure are hilarious. Didn't know you could be this petty over that woman. Guan, tell me the truth, do you perhaps…like her?"
Guan's lips twitched. "That's not the case here. You lied to me, that' why I'm angry!" he roared.
Su Bin rolled his eyes and raised his hands in defeat. "Fine, I won't do it again." Then, he started to laugh hysterically.
"Why are you laughing?"
Su Bin continued to burst into a bubble of laughter while holding his stomach. He pinched himself to stop himself. He answered, "Don't you think it's time for Yinyang to enter in the entertainment business?" and slowly shook his head, "Dear cousin, that was a good acting you got there."
"If I didn't took the initiative, then who will? You?" Guan distinguished the cigarette in his hand and lit another one.
Amused, Su Bin shook his head and reached for the can of beer sitting on the table. He scoffed and looked at Guan. "Old habits never die, huh?" he stood up and went to the kitchen to fetch another beer.
Guan ignored his cousin's blabbering. He couldn't help but think about the woman in the café. The way her eyes stared back at him they're…beautiful and alluring. But he felt weird by how she hold her friend's hand at that time. Feels like she's afraid or terrified of something.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" Su Bin kicked the coffee table lightly.
The creaking sound snap Guan out of his reverie. "What?"
"I said, have you noticed the way Liu Yang hid behind Wan Li? She even bowed her head down. It just felt so strange."
"I did." Guan narrowed his eyes. His curiosity about Liu Yang dug deeper the more he think about it.
