78 FATE MUST BE ON YOUR SIDE
In the afternoon, Liu yang felt her throat went dry by reading the manuscripts the whole morning. She was about to get her purse when Wan Li called.
"Yang, I'm going for some coffee, want some?"
"Sure. See you downstairs."
"Hmm." She immediately took her purse and went to the elevator.
Down on the first floor, Liu Yang saw Wan Li reading a magazine by the waiting area. She went up to him and poked his cheek, startling the latter who looked up to her. "Have you been waiting for long? Let's go." He just nodded his head as an answer.
The two of them went to a café across the street and ordered coffee and sandwiches. The smell of coffee relaxed their exhausted mind and body. Liu Yang watched the busy street bustling with cars and people.
"Can I smoke here?" he heard Wan Li across her seat. She faced him with pouted lips, "You know this is a public place, right?"
Wan Li rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. I'm so, so stressed these days. Will this ever end?"
"It's almost the end of the month, it'll be over soon. And you only have one author working for this project, right?"
"Hmm-mmm, but still…" Wan Li's body turned jelly just by thinking about the workload waiting for him.
"Tell me about it. Good for you, you only have one," she took a sip from her coffee, even just for a brief moment, it calmed her mind.
They both sighed in resign. Liu Yang glanced at her watch, it's too early to go back to the publishing. The two of them continued their leisure time and talked about other stuff, forgetting the stress that awaits them.

Guan Ning decided to not go to the office that day. In the morning, he busied himself by reading the documents about the company when Su Bin came informing him about the busy schedule of Liu Yang. Then, continued his work with the help of Su Bin, exchanging their ideas about some new projects and collaborations.
By late afternoon, he asked Su Bin to accompany him for a drive around the city. He had been home for over three months, and he hasn't seen how Xinjiang had improved through the years. Back in his teens, he knew the city like the back of his hand but, when he came back, new buildings and establishments had been built.
Inside the car, Su Bin sat on the co-pilot while he drives. After an hour of driving around, he invited Su Bin for some coffee. "I know a place. Let's go," he initiated.
As the stopped in front of a café, Su Bin felt some familiarity of the street and the line of establishments. As he gets out of the car, he saw a familiar building across the street.
"Are you kidding me? Really?" he looked at his cousin incredulously with raised brows.
"What?" Guan Ning replied, feigning ignorance. The truth is, roaming around the city was just his alibi, and his purpose was to wait for Liu Yang to come out of the publishing just for fun. He just had the urge to see her.
Su Bin pointed Yinyang Publishing. "You can call her, you know?"
"I don't even have her number and I doubt that girlfriend of yours would even give it to me," he frowned and strode past him.
Confused, Su Bin stood rooted to the ground for a moment before returning to his senses and followed him inside. "Wait, who are we talking about? Is it Liu Yang?"
Guan Ning stopped in his tracks and glared at him. "Who do you think it is?" Then, he continued his way inside.
"I thought it was Min Chu," Su Bin uttered but Guan Ning probably wasn't able to hear due to their distance. He ran after him inside the café.
They choose to sit right next to the window where the view to the entrance of the publishing is as clear as the day.
Guan Ning is casually sipping on his coffee while looking outside when he heard Su Bin utter some nonsense.
"Oh shit! No way!" he chuckled and looked at Guan Ning with an amused face. "I think fate must be really on your side!"
