'Black tortoise, today, I am going to break your defence.'

Lucas looked confident in completing the first monster boss room in the [Special fighting arena] as he checked all his weapons.

Lucas equipped himself with the two items from the Coward set, which were a magic robe and a rank 4 dagger.

In another hand, he equipped himself with another rank 4  dagger that could suck the blood of his opponents.

'These daggers are just for the show. To break the defence, I will be relying on the level 3 advanced spell [Infernal bomb].'

Lucas thought to himself as he entered the endless space of the [Special fighting arena].

Currently, there were two places where Lucas could fight in the [Special fighting arena]. One was a [Figher's room] and the other one was [Monster boss room].

Since he had to complete the first room in the [Monster boss room] before changing his option, Lucas didn't have much choice as he directly entered the [Monster boss room].

"Swoosh"

"Human brat, you are back? I thought you were scared to come back…Haha."

The huge black tortoise mocked Lucas as soon as its eyes landed on Lucas.

"Stop talking nonsense. Today, I am going to break your defence at any cost."

Lucas didn't attack the [Black tortoise] directly because he knew that the monster would not move from its place to attack him.

A huge fireball appeared above Lucas' head as it started condensing into a small fireball. With each passing second, the fireball 10 meters radius started getting reduced in its size.

At the same time, the colour of the fireball started changing from light orange to orange and orange to red.

The colour continued to change and from the look on Lucas' face, it seemed like he was not going to release the infernal bomb any time soon. 

'Huh? This brat increased the level of his advanced spell to such a level in a short duration of time?'

The huge black tortoise was surprised to see the colour of the infernal bomb above Lucas' head change into the colour of red.

'It must be currently at level 3; however, it is still useless against my defence. If the colour changes to dark red which happens at level 4, then my defence will be completely broken.'

According to the rules of the first hall in the [Monster boss room], the monster boss should not attack the challenger at any cost or not even move from its place.

So, the huge black tortoise could not stare at Lucas who was preparing his strongest spell.

Finally, Lucas felt he had condensed the infernal boom to his limits and released it at the huge black tortoise.

The place where Lucas aimed his [Infernal bomb] was the center of the shell of the huge black tortoise.

Lucas had already tried to find the weak spots of the huge black tortoise many times and he was unable to find any time as the shell had the same defence everywhere.

He even thought to wait for the black tortoise to stretch its neck completely out of its shell before using the spell; however, he knew that the black tortoise would go into hiding by the time he finished his spell.

So, other than breaking the shell of the black tortoise, Lucas didn't plan to waste his time in finding the weak spots of the monster boss.

The host spent 1000 units of magic power to release a [Infernal bomb].

The [Infernal bomb] hit the target. Gained 100 experience points.

After the smoke from the explosion was cleared, Lucas received a series of system notifications in his head.

'I still need to use this spell 14 times to upgrade it to level 4 spell.'

Lucas knew that using the spells is the most basic and simple way to upgrade them. With some time and energy, it is easy for him to upgrade any spell.

So, looking at the required experience points, Lucas calculated how many times he need to use the [Infernal bomb] spell before upgrading it to level 4.

Nevertheless, what Lucas currently cares about now is whether he made any damage to the shell of the huge tortoise.

Actually, the thing is, Lucas was not expecting that he would break the shell of the black tortoise with a single spell. But, he was hoping he would make some damage and by repeatedly using the spell, he was going to break the black tortoise's defence completely.

Just as Lucas was about to check the damage on the shell, he heard the black tortoise' words and became excited.

"However, it is nowhere enough for you to break my defence…Haha."

The black tortoise just wanted Lucas to get excited. So, it could see Lucas felt more disappointed when he failed to clear the room.

Lucas didn't mind the black tortoise's last sentence as he was very excited and happy because finally, he could make a dent in the shell of the black tortoise.

"Shall we go for round 2?"

Once he saw the dent on the shell of the black tortoise, Lucas didn't waste any more time as he started using the [Infernal bomb] again.

In a flash, Lucas used the [Infernal bomb] two more times and the small dent on the shell of the black tortoise became huge.

'This brat…the spell is much more powerful than any level 3 advanced spell. Is it because of the temporary boosts?'

Finally, the black tortoise felt that the attack power of the spell was much higher than it expected and the damage was obviously higher.

'He is not going to break my defence as he needed to use the spells more times and obviously, his magic sea will be depleted before he could achieve that.'

Nevertheless, in the next month, the black tortoise thought that Lucas was going to fail this time too.

'I guess, he will be completing the first hall in the next month for sure. It is already considered good. Let's see what I can reward him with after he breaks my defence.'

As the monster boss, it had to evaluate the challenger and if the challenger defeated the monster boss, it had to give a reward.

Since it was sure that Lucas was going to break the defence when he entered the [Special fighting arena], it started thinking of a suitable reward for Lucas.

'Huff…I can still use the spell three more times and I think I can break the shell for sure.'

As for Lucas, he was confident in breaking the defence of the black tortoise as he continued with his chanting of the level 3 advanced spell.
