1 Spirited Away to Another World
On the twelve floor of a building, an auditorium was finishing its classes.
Walking away from the door of an auditorium was a youth in his 20's, he was a third year named Cheng Xuan complaining about his schedule.
"Finally, I can go home now. Why did all my classes have to end until 7p.m. anyway?"
Behind him were voices of others ignoring his leave.
"Hey did you see the new movie coming this fall?"
"No, I haven't want to watch it together, but you're to paying cause it was your idea."
"Alright!"
Still inside was a group of teens chatting, laughing, and comparing their interest.
He, however, ignored them as well, for him such people weren't his friends.
He never had any friends in the university in fact, since they were all born with a silver spoon, he was sure they're not even close, their only connection was that there from wealthy families.
He couldn't bring himself to be friends who only sought out for benefits.
He had to work in the night just to pay his rent, and only ate in the morning for his classes, it was like that since his parents passed away, six years ago.
He eventually learned that money wasn't easy to earn, the money that was left for him was used up for his tuition so he had to use it sparingly.
"I have no night-shift today, guess I should go home."
He walked towards the hallway to the elevator, his goal was the ground floor.
"…"
???
"…"
He was starting to hear voices when he entered, must be due to exhaustion, he checked the time in his phone, it was nearing eight.
The sound the elevator reverted to his ears for about two minutes. Until he heard an out of place sound.
*CRASH!!!!*
Being startled from the sudden crash, he fell down to the ground, the elevator started shaking violently, the air started turning cold that he could see his breath, and his skin crawled from the increasing whispers, telling him to 'pay the ghost'.
Panicking from what was happening, he headed to the panel, and started pressing repeatedly the emergency button, out of desperation he started bashing the button with his fist.
After feeling his surrounding changed, he cornered himself against the wall to avoid the invisible specters, soon the sensation of falling came to him, the ground felt like there was no gravity and the elevator fell at a very frightening pace.
He heard screeching of metal going past his ears, getting louder and louder.
Panicking for his life he clutched on the rails for dear life.
The realization of death came to him, once the he hit the ground his life would end.
His life flashed before his eyes, he saw his childhood. with his mother sitting by his side on the porch reading him a book, his father was lifting him on his shoulder while he held his hands, and then he saw them lying on the ground not moving.
He whispered 'I'm sorry mother, father I can't fulfill a wonderful life like you wanted.'
It was at that moment, everything in that room turned dark.
***
Still inside the auditorium, the group of students from before were still chatting.
"Crap, the time is already 8:00, we should leave now before they close the gates"
"Hey that reminds me of something, did you guys hear about an urban myth about this school?"
"Oh, what myth, sounds interesting, tell us about it."
The others started to hear the story, since it piqued their interest it was summarized like this:
There once was a group of student who volunteered to help renovate an old building in the campus, however, there was a talk that a ghost was in the building so they had to place offering by the entrance before they could enter.
Each one had to give an offering, it can either food or money.
In the end, they can get them back at the end of the day.
The previous owner had given a warning never use the elevator at night if no offerings were placed, so they followed it, unknowingly, one of them didn't place any offerings, fearing that the money he placed will be taken, when they entered they felt a chill past them, but it didn't stop them from working.
At the end of the day, everyone came out except for one.
They assumed he had gone home before him, so they ignored the issue.
But as the days go by, because they started to ignore the offerings, more and more people never showed after the next day, no one knew what become of them…
"…"
"OK, that sounds creepy."
"Wait a minute, the story doesn't sound complete." A girl cut in the conversation.
"Yeah, the thing is I only heard about it when a senior was researching the history of the school for her thesis, and she found the urban tale form an old diary, the rest of the text had faded over the years, so no one knows the whole story."
"…"
"By the way, didn't the professor say there used to be an elevator here before, but was closed down."
"Don't know, never seen the elevator from the ground being used anyway."
"…"
It was at that moment, no one noticed that the person who left first never went down with them or walked in front of them, he had spirited away to another world.

Great Mordan City, a great city that establishes trade with the surrounding areas -- the main territory of the Naga Clan.
In the center was a residences that was housing the main family.
Outside the beautiful villa was a thunderous storm, its downpour was fierce, thunder was crashing, winds that were howling menacingly that could make any child cry and anyone feel a sense of dread.
An elder was sitting on a chair facing the window showing the ominous like storm, he had the stature of a veteran warrior with green hair and a long scar going to his forehead to his lips, it was what made his appearance fierce.
He was wearing a long sleeved robe made of jade-like silk with stitching of golden embroidery, and the smell of citrus incense was present.
A smoking pipe was resting on the right hand, and on the other was slouching on the armrest, staring outside of the window boredom was his expression.
"Disciple Harrison, greets Great Elder."
Before him was a man entered and kneeled, his personal disciple, a man in his late 20's with a long green hair tied like a pony tail, a talent only described to be a treasure among his peers he's known for his meticulous work, so majority of the minor task was handled by him.
"Have you disposed of that failure?"
"Yes, he was already considered a cripple in the family without any hope, so they only ignored his existence. In fact, I had instructed a third party to make it look like an accident, making sure even if he survived the injuries he sustained will end his life eventually."
The elder, who was the current patriarch of the Naga Clan, looked at the youth then nodded without even caring about the process, he just wanted the shame that was born in his family to disappear.
The failure he wanted to get rid of was a 10 year old youth that had a damaged vessel, he was a disgrace with no talent, who was born in the main family.
What was worse was that he was born from his direct descendant, if anyone from surrounding clans found out about his existence it would be an insult to the Naga Clan that had a long standing of supremacy in the region.
It would have sufficed if there was any hope in him cultivating into at least a higher stage, then sparring some time and resources was not a problem, but even after five years there was no change in his cultivation and only his younger brother who was a year late, born from another woman, had shown the most improvement.
But the issue was the younger was born from a concubine.
To avoid a scandal, they killed the concubine including anyone who knew her, and had switched their origins.
Thankfully only the mother and father including two wet nurses were present during the birth, so they killed the wet nurses to silence his origins, as for the wife, she had been exhausted from the labor and was separated from her child in the name of training, so for years so she was not aware of his actual appearance.
The reason for the elaborate plan was due to her origin was from an allied clan, so they had shroud the truth and appear as though the child was going through closed door cultivation.
The problem was resolved from the switch.
The younger was named Veritas, from the main family. While the older was then named Stigma[1] the failure who came from the concubine, the wife wasn't even aware of the switch much less the concubine's pregnancy.
But because of the younger's upbringing, living the life of luxury without being punished for 5 years.
He had accumulated the worst reputation by being influenced by his uncles and cousins who want to curry favors, from kidnapping and raping young girls, stealing young wives from men, beating citizens for fun and it was getting out of control.
Fortunately, the issues were from the city they ruled so they can make sure no news leaked out, but if things got out of hand it would lead to serious danger.
To avoid further humiliation, the main family came to an agreement, they would solve the problem by using Stigma to take the blame and had him completely disappear in the guise of banishing him.
"Good then just wait a few days before that brat Veritas can go out of his room."
He eventually turned his head away and looked outside, smoking with the look of indifference as Harrison left closing the door behind him.
He had already avoided a problem from occurring from his failure, so he had to focus on future deals.
Veritas was being punished for his incompetence, but will return to neglecting his training and live the life of a waste.
[1]Veritas – was name I choose to point out the irony of his name which means truth in Latin.
[2]Stigma – had to pick a name for his origins so I choose Stigma, which meant a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person
