19 The dance of blade from the sky

Fujimura pitted one zombie against a car with his shield while hacking a line of them with Ashura. The grey colored blade passed through the soft and fragile neck then tumbling the monster head to the ground. The troublesome of this kill streak was that he must make sure his enemy are thoroughly dead which is a hard thing to do with the zombie since you must beheading them or struck their brain.

One zombie down and another quickly lunged at him, he pushed straight Ashura and stabbed its head in the blink. The moment he retracted the blade from the zombie, he swung it once more to kill the zombie on his right.

His left hand was shivering as the zombie beyond his shield was not obediently stayed. It wiggled its body and its rotten hands unceasingly tried to reach out to him.

With his boosted attack power, he let go the zombie but quickly the iron buckler smashed its head and flattened it to the car. The monster showed no further movement.

From the back, many began assault toward their position, Kohta had to unleash the fury of his nail and brought down as many as he can, he aimed the gun and punctured the zombie's forehead with one or sometimes two nail. Not all zombie that are easy to kill, it seemed if the person had a good fit body before he died, its zombified form was strong and certainly far fiercer.

For example, the zombie that face against Saya was six feet tall and muscular form, it somehow managed to block Saya's Iron Sword attack and flung the girl to the nearest car, if not for Kohta swiftly brought it down and the other enemies around, she should be already join the community of the dead now.

Also there were many zombies that as if pretend to be death, they laid still on the ground or leaned on the car, but by the time they arrived at their location, they sprang all of the sudden.

Like one of the zombie now that grabbed Fujimura's leg and attempted to bite on it, but before the white pearl teeth sank their edge on his pants, a knife swiftly stabbed deep its temple and sent the poor soul to the other world.

Fujimura didn't need to confirm who his benefactor since he was the one who assigned Rei as his partner.

Basically as they progressed toward the bridge that around 1 Kilometer away left, they had been changing formation two times, if the field is vast, they will use a diamond shape formation (One person in the front, two on the sides, and one on the back) and if they traversed a narrow path because of the wrecked cars, they used square formation (Two person in the front and two in the back).

As for Shizuka, ah well, let just say she's like an imperial family member protected by royal knight.

"Huff... huff..." Saya leaned against the iron sword before she raised it again and punctured one zombie's head.

They fought their way and it was a miracle for her to hold on this longer. A zombie apocalypse was truly a nightmare for anyone who less fit like her and the fatty like Kohta, but the glasses boy luckily had the backing of expertise in gunnery.

Damn it she should have practice chemistry more and gained knowledge on making bomb, that way she could just blasted them all away.

Rei pushed one zombie with the back of her stick then she cut another zombie limb before she finished them both with a one clean sweep.

Fujimura smacked his enemy's chin with the buckler, the target flew upward to the air. As it hovered above him, he dodged an attack then countering it by a deadly slash to the back of its head and one fierce slash that cut their body into two. The moment that flying zombie touched down the ground, he brought down Ashura and stabbed the zombie's head.

"Urgh..." he heard a moan on his right.

"Quick Slash," Ashura glinted with a brief red light then it swiftly dragged his hand to the side and slashed down one of them. Rei sank the knife's edge on that unknown zombie's head as it fell to the ground on her own initiative.

It's one of her job to finish them after all.

Unlike where it cut his enemy from top to bottom, will randomly wound his enemy's body, maybe cut one of their limb if he lucky but as it's name stated, its speed to slash was really quick, he couldn't even see the shadow of his own hand.

Combined it with the attack boost, perhaps if his combo meter was high enough, he could easily kill with the skill.

Fujimura swung the buckler on his hand and smacked his enemy, flinging it to the group of them ahead and scatter their formation.

"Quick, now!" he roared, the group kept up with his pace, and finished the zombie who previously got trashed.

They were only several meters away from the bridge.

At this moment, one zombie with huge mass of fat sprung from behind one of the car, it knocked Saya from her feet and smacked against Shizuka on her side. Both female dropped on the ground with a groan.

"Takagi-san, Marikawa-sensei!" Kohta looked behind his shoulder and got scared by the turn of event.

"Damn it!" Fujimura ceased his steps and retreated back but to his surprise, despite the huge body it had, the zombie actually move fast, and instead focused on preying the weak target ahead, it swung its large hand and slammed Fujimura's body, caught him off guard as he flew to the nearest car.

He groaned at the feel of ache on his back, he fell to the side and feel jet lagged.

The fat zombie had its drool all over his mouth at the sight of two juicy dish but its head titled immediately to the side because of the struck of nails from another fatty.

Kohta was surprised at the zombie tenacity of not to die after getting shot in the head, but looking at the muscle all over its body, perhaps its skin was thicker than common zombie.

Before Kohta managed to shot it again, few zombie grouped from behind him, making him had to take them down. Rei took in charge of taking it down, she brandished her spear before swing it to cut the fat zombie's head.

But to her surprise, the knife stuck on the zombie's temple, glued to its muscle like a bunch of adhesive, she tried to pull it back but the monster grabbed the stick and swung it down, smashing her body along to the floor.

She moaned in pain but still managed to stand up before the zombie swung its hand and smacked her body to the side, hit against Kohta who focused on kill the other.

Looking at the 'main cast' getting beat up by a single zombie like this, Fujimura was surprised and shocked. This zombie was far stronger than they ever fought, humanity survival certainly gloomy if this monster was on rampage.

He immediately stood up and strode forward but his legs was grabbed by a zombie under a car and he slipped down, his face hit the asphalt below and cracked his glass in the process.

Fuck! he couldn't help but curse inwardly, he turned around and brought down Ashura to that hateful arm, he slashed it clean.

Fujimura stood up but because of his glass was broken, his eye sight suddenly went bad, don't count on slaughtering the monster, even taking down one zombie was a difficult endeavor to him. He could only see a blurry figure try to approach him, without the need to identify them, he just slashed with Ashura all the way.

Back with the group who hunkered on the ground, Saya recovered first but horrified that the fat zombie already near her and Shizuka vicinity, she looked to the groaned in pain Rei and Kohta then she glanced at Fujimura who struggle on his path toward the location, she reached out to the Iron Sword with a gritting her teeth and stood up while enduring the pain.

Facing the fearsome monster, she didn't hesitate to stride forward and tried to stab its forehead, but the pain came in the nick of time and she lost her focus, the sword slight went down and stabbed the zombie's face instead.

It didn't affect the zombie progression toward her whatsoever.

Saya struggled to push back the zombie but it was so strong that her body got pushed back instead. With this kind of situation, where they cornered by the fat zombie and soon getting swarmed by any of them, their fate certainly had been sealed.

She thought that maybe it was truly a bad idea to leave the bus?

When Saya legs began to lost their strength and the fat zombie already closed several inch toward her and Shizuka location, a loud sound of motorcycle entered her ears.

In the nick of time, two figure while one of them drove the motorcycle went into a ramp and launched toward the sky, directly several meters high above the bridge. Without awaited for the tire to touch the ground, a purple haired young woman crouched on the motorcycle's body and she stepped hard on it then flew straight toward the fat zombie.

Her blue eyes glinted as her figure went blurry, she gripped hard a long katana that closed to her own height and swung it fiercely. The edge touched the zombie's fat waist, it smoothly passed through toward its burly stomach and came out at the other side. The zombie's lower bottom lost its strength and it whole upper part fell on the ground, taking along Saya's hand because of the weight.

The figure didn't stop, her slender legs strode toward Fujimura position and she easily slaughtered any of them. Far easier than how Fujimura did it. One swing from her sword enough to banish two or three zombie at once.

The motorcycle landed, it restore the balance and drove toward the pack of zombie that tried to feast on Kohta and Rei. The driver hit the brake then drifted the vehicle, swept all of them with the back of the motorcycle.

Fujimura sighed as he knew the situation was clear, although they all injured but at least their lives are saves.

He sensed a figure crouched beside his side, a gentle finger caressed his temple and checked the wound as the result of the broken glasses.

"I could have handle them myself," Fujimura chuckled as he sat on the ground.

"Don't act cocky you moron!" this was not the first time she berated him, but he could hear a shiver on her tone.

Fujimura sighed, he raised his hand and touched the person's hair.

"Welcome back."
