A sudden void developed inside me. I don't have words to explain this situation. I know my place but still, it hurts. I was tongue tied, after few seconds I controlled my emotions. I am a Captain, to a soldier like me emotions should be kept in control. I should never be overwhelmed by emotions.
Then I opened my mouth with a smile pasted in my face, "You can call me Liza then." She nodded and sat beside me. She removed her watch and extended her hand towards me. I sunk my teeth in her wrist while my mind fading away. I was in a daze thinking about the current situation.
Whenever she is hurt, she will convince herself with these words. Asuna lost her parents at the age of five on 10th day of reckoning while they were protecting her. Her father is an colonel and her mother is a military doctor. Basically she was born and brought up in military compound. Not only her parents are respected, she bought her respect through her hard work and perseverance.
The only thing that disturbs her most is others hurting themselves for her. She feels a tremendous amount of guilt for sacrificing Lady Claire for herself. But the thing that she hates the most is being a substitute and compared to others. Those things are common in military. She is now stuck inbetween the anger and guilty feelings overlapping, which led to despair. She is changing herself only for the life that she took from the family.
Every time when she was compared to Lady Claire, she is engulfed with numerous emotions she is at the verge of breaking into fury. She loved the field more, helping others, fighting evil like a super hero. She was with lots of freedom. Being with her team mates meant a lot for her. She became a caged bird kept for shows.
It is not like she hated the place or people around. Everyone treated her nice, gave her plenty of things that her age maidens will desire. But she a shield maiden, she prefer being in a battle rather than in a doll house.
Suddenly I felt the hand I was holding tremble, that moment I came to reality. When opened by eyes Lady Rebecca was breathing heavily while Lady Rachael was shaking me. I let go of her hand. Lady Rachael holded Lady Rebecca and said something while Lady Rebecca nodded as a reply.
I was still in daze, little by little consciousness faded. A black smoke appeared suddenly and it holded me.
"I will take care of the little lady here. Red hair, you take care of that brown hair girl."
Rachael was stunned by the sudden arrival of the black smoke. She was worried about both the girls so she didn't mind the fact that she was ordered by that smoke. She simply nodded at the smoke. Rachael helped Rebecca to lie down on the bed. This was the first time she sees a demon spirit this close, so she took lots of glances at the Asuna engulfed in smoke.
I feel warm like sun shining on me. Is Lord Valdimir next to me. The feeling of having family next to us is so good. Hmmm.... I opened my eyes slowly, Lady Rachael was sitting beside Lady Rebecca. When our eyes met she let out a heavy sigh and smiled at me. I smiled back at her. When looked I looked around Lord Raphael was taking a nap at the sofa. I felt someone holding me when lowered my eye level...
"So it's you ah? Haru", when I smiled relievingly at the smoke. I could sense him smiling back at me like saying I'm with you. Then he vanished. I strolled towards Lady Rebecca and said with guilt "I'm really sorry Rebecca! I was lost in.... something. I'm sorry..... for being irresponsible, you came to help but I harmed you inturn."
"It's alright Liza, I will be fine with some rest", Lady Rebecca replied in a low tone. Then only I realised she was awake, with her eyes open and felt more relieved. "I'm sorry for worrying you, Rachael", I said her while holding both of my ears in an apologetic tone. She smiled and said "Oh! Come on its alright. So he is your demon ah???" Lady Rachael looked at me excitedly with her brows raised.
"Yeah! He is", I said with pride. She wanted to ask me something before that we heard...

The door was opened by a fair hand, Lord Charles came in followed by Lord Daniel. Lord Charles analysed the situation then looked at me and asked, "Are you finished?" I nodded at him. "Go to the hall, Father is waiting" he said with his usual cold tone, after few seconds he said in a loud tone, "Everyone!" Lord Raphael who was taking a nap in the sofa was startled and fell from the sofa.
We all smiled except Lord Charles. He went out of the room, Lord Daniel and Lord Raphael followed him. Lady Rachael and I stood up. When Lady Rebecca tried to stand, "You should take some more rest, Rebecca. I will take responsibility for whatever that might happen", I said to her. She looked like she wanted to refuse first but after looking our concerned faces she nodded and lied down again.
Lady Rachael smiled at me and then looked at Lady Rebecca and said, "After you feel better, come and join us. Got it?" She replied, "Yep." We went out, outside the door all the three who went first were standing. Then we five entered the hall, everyone gazes fell upon us.
When I turned my eyes right, my eyes met with Lord Daniel. His eyes looked like he wanted to say something to me. For a second, his face looked like he was sad and in lot of pain. A pain striked my heart, that guilt of killing his love emerged. I don't get what he thought, the next second he smiled at me and averted his gaze.
We went to the hall, Father came to us in hurried steps. He looked at me asked, "Are you Alright dear, Sonja said you were feeling a bit of the weather. If you still feel tired you can excuse yourself, I will deal the guests." He was so worried about me, the look in his eyes made me feel happy, to know that he cares.
Still why she said that to everyone? I have no clue. I smiled and said, "I'm alright father. I don't want to worry you guys. I will stay."
He asked me two more times before leaving to join the other guests. Lady Rachael was beside me for the full party. After an hour, Lady Rebecca joined us. When I saw Jacob he winked at me, I gave him a smile while raising one of my eyebrows.
We greeted lots of people, everyone spoke to me gently. Still I had the thought that the smile was only because I was accompanied by those two ladies. The media kept taking pictures of us. The party nearly came to end.
