3 I am Sorry

"I need something to drink first! I feel thirsty maybe an apple juice would do

More like I need blood....."

What am I saying? Why do I feel the need to drink blood. I was born normal. I am damn sure I am not an Vampire. Then what is happening to me? Why do I feel fuzzy again? I feel so tired and thirsty!

While I was reflecting on my words Lord Valdimir folded his sleeve and extended his arm to me. His pale skin sparkling as diamond and emitting strong sweet aroma.

"Wait a second! Why do I feel Lord's blood is sweet? First of all how can I smell his blood???? Oh God! Someone please explain me! I am going nuts here!!!....", I blabbered in a irritated tone.

Lord Valdimir retreated his hand gently looking at me, tenderly started his speech "Asuna dear, let me explain calm down first! During the summoning 2 months ago when fox spirit answered the summoning it came out as a black smoke. It engulfed the total surrounding to choose it's contractor.

Since he is one of the powerful gods everyone were pushed to a deep slumber. The marked people started to wake up one by one according to their power intensities mostly by 4 hours. It took a day for enmarked people to wake up. While the vampires and werewolves took 2 hours atmost.

Everyone woke up expect you and my little Claire. You both were transferred to same room to check if you have any connections for your deep slumber. Within two minutes she entered the same room as you, your heartbeat suddenly started to drop. In the end, doctors had to use artificial life support system to keep you alive.

After your heart beat was steadied, my daughter woke up!!! The only thing she said was to offer her blood and flesh to you. The fox spirit choose you over her. But you don't have the physical capabilities to contain the spirit. We searched for a week for finding an alternate solution.

While the life force of Claire started to deplete. Since the fox spirit is not in a contract her life force is being obsorbed by the spirit to keep it alive. I still didn't agree to let go of my daughter. So I arranged for a committee to search for an solution. I lead the committee, we searched for another week non-stop without food and sleep.

My insecurities which made me thought that whether my daughter will survive or not, only worsened her condition. Then the only choice it came to was to make you survive and make my daughter die" tears escaping from his eyes Lord Valdimir starred into the empty bed next to me.

When he said the words make my daughter die it made my heart crush, the tightened feeling started to choke me when I saw his tears. Silence in the room started to overwhelm the atmosphere.

I could feel everyone's eyes upon me. The moment Lord started to speak, I interrupted in an business tone saying "I'm sorry for everything! Even though the only thing I can do now is to say sorry . I'm an soldier sir! I was trained to serve the country even at the cost of my life. Even if you had taken and offered Lady Claire my life I would be have been glad sir."

"At ease soldier", Lord Charles said with a pained expression, in a minute changing his words as

".....I mean Asuna." Doc Noah explained "From the ancient books we learned that once the spirit has chosen it's holder then it's absolute until the next. Since Lady Claire was the who summoned the spirit and after it took all your life force it went for the summoner Lady Claire's. It was not the spirit's fault either.

There was nothing we could do at that time. The spirit will select its owner whoever the summoner maybe, it was proved now. If we didn't change you into Vampire you would be dead along with Lady Claire. You were an excellent Captain who kept your comrades alive for the past years ever since you took control. Now it's your time to accept the situation and move forward Captain."

Wait a minute!.... "Doctor did you just mention Vampire? That means I'm an Vampire???" I asked him with an expressionless face. The doctor noded with a tiny curve on one corner of his mouth. "I will take responsibility for you! You will be my daughter hence forth! You will take upon my late daughter's name and become a part of my family", Lord Valdimir said facing the empty bed, at the end he faced me and gave me a warm smile.

At that moment I had a glimpse of me having dinner with a group of people in an hall with baby pink coloured walls and red curtains hanging beside the french door leading to the balcony. I was seated next to Lord Valdimir, Lord Charles was there and few more Vampires. It doesn't feel like a glimpse it was more like an vision...

(The amount of mysteries unfolding keeps on increasing one by one.... How will Asuna deal it ? Or should I say Claire?)
