After the light receded I saw Myla there stark naked and staring at me dazed. She then started to look down and I saw the fright and dread start to appear in her eyes. So I launched myself at her and knocked her out. I caught her as she fell to the floor unconscious and I brought her to a tree branch. I dress her in some of my clothes I have in my separate dimension after briefly activating my horns. I don't have any girl clothes considering I am not a girl myself.
I literally gave her my life, one of them anyways. I don't want her to squander it by dying anytime soon. I need to train her and give her power so she doesn't waste the life I have given her. Look at me I sound like a maniac. Whatever I can't have her seeing this mess of mush that once were her friends. I dug a giant hole and threw all the villagers remains including her grandmothers into this hole and set everything inside on fire. After everything is burnt to ashes I bury it all and make a tombstone from a part of the platform. With my finger I carve Myla's grandmother and villagers. I then place it on the mound of dirt.
As for the Ork Demons remains. I left those out for monsters, creatures, and bugs to come and feast on as they don't deserve a burial.
Now the hard part should I tell her I was the one who killed all those villagers or tell her the Ork Demons did? If I tell her the truth I will just be gaining an unnecessary enemy and one with new amazing potential that has gone through a nirvana too. Just like a phoenix she can become way stronger than she initially ever could. What's with the Special Revival though? Will that happen in every revival or is it per chance? I don't know and I sure as hell am not going to test it.
It seems that I have to lie to her. At least I am not the one who killed her grandmother. It would cross my bottom line if I had to lie about killing one of her family members. The villagers are a accidental friendly fire due to my carelessness. Am I being cold hearted? Maybe but I only feel a little bad about killing them and that is only because Myla knew them. Maybe it's my new race that has numbed these types of feelings. I am a Demon now after all. No point in dwelling on it and weakening myself with feelings and emotions like those. "Sigh. This fucking sucks."
I reaffirm my decision to have more control over my aura and continue becoming strong. Huh this is like the "With great power comes great responsibility." Quote I've heard. Here is an instance where that applies. I am responsible for controlling my own power so it doesn't harm those I don't want it to harm. As for killing? In this seemingly "dog eats dog world" and "survival of the fittest" I will have to do it over and over. At least now I know for sure I won't be brought down by unnecessary things.
After I cleaned up what I needed to clean up I smash the little temple into powder and head back over to Myla. I grab her and head over to a water source. When I reach it I get naked lean my great bastard sword on a tree and jump in to wash off the blood I am drenched in. As I wash the blood off a large snake comes slithering towards me underwater thinking I am not aware of it. Look at that even lunch delivers itself to me. How generous nature is. It attacks me by springing at me. I dodge it to the left and grab it seven inches from its head and squeeze tightly crushing its heart instantly. I chop its head off and hang it on a branch to bleed out while I jump back into the water to finish my bath. After I finished my bath I have the additional food of eagle and bear. How yummy. I'll be having a scrumptious meal. First I put on some clothes and I create a fire to start cooking the food. I start by skinning, plucking and gutting. I didn't bring any spices with me so plain roasting it is. As I cook Myla wakes up yelling.
"Where is my grandma!?" I look at her looking around anxiously. She stands up and starts searching around. "Come eat first Myla. I'll tell you after a good meal. She looks at the food I am cooking. Then she looks at me, "No fish?" Huh, that is not what I expected to hear but it is true here I am next to a pool and instead of eating fish like traditional people it's Snake, Eagle, and Bear. "No, do you want fish?" She looks stupefied for a second and say, "N-no, I have never had snake, eagle, or bear before is all."
She comes and sits by the fire and stares at me. "You promise to tell me after I eat?" As she is staring at me intensely I look at her oddly. "Hiii! I-it's just whenever mommy says that she never tells me what I want to know."
"Haha of course I'll tell you. I promise." I smile at her and she calms down a bit. It seems she has temporarily forgotten about what happened. Once I tell her where her grandmother is and what happened to her and the villagers she'll remember. I briefly contemplate not telling her but I decide otherwise. I have already given my promise.
After the food is finished we eat a quiet meal. She tries meat from all three and seems to like them as she eats it all delightfully.
After we finish eating, with me finishing most of the food, she comes and sits criss crossed in front of me and stares at me. "Sigh. It seems I can't get out of telling you."
She jumps up and and says, "O-of course not! Y-you promised! Where is my grandmother."
I look at her straight in the eyes and she stands straight quickly and quites down. "She is at the tribute platform." as I say this she interrupts me, "T-then let's head there! I really want to see my grandmother!" I keep staring into her eyes and she quiets down again. "You cannot see your grandmother there." Again she interrupts me "W-why not!?"
"Because she is dead Myla." As I say this tears start to come down her eyes. "N-No! S-she isn't dead! You're a L-liar! Y-your lying to me Sentan! She can't be dead! She is my grandma! She is the village chief! She can't be d-dead!" Screaming all this she rushes up to me and grabs my clothes. Tears are falling down her pitch black eyes as she peers into my eyes to see if I am lying to her. "She was killed by the Ork Demon, or what you call the horned lords." As I gaze into her eyes and see her remember everything that happens and she collapses onto me. "Wahhh! Grandma! Why did you die!? Wahh!"
Myla bawls all her sad feelings into my fresh shirt but I don't mind. She cries for three straight hours but I don't interrupt her. Some curious creature came close hearing the sounds of a young crying thinking they would have an easy meal but I scare them off with a hostile glare. I'll hold back on telling her she died and came back to life until I ask her to join me on my travels.
After a while she lets go of me and just whimpers there sadly mumbling to herself. "Hic. Grandma died and left me. Hic. Mommy and Daddy will be really sad. Hic." I look at her sadness and I start to feel more guilt over not taking action before. I could have saved her grandmother. Next time something like this happens I won't just observe. I'll save those I can save as repayment for my lack of action in this. I go and equip my great bastard sword.
