19 First Adventure

I flicker to the edge of the mountain in a near instant. I look down and it's like a cliff that continuously goes on down, there are some dense clouds that cover my vision past a certain point. No wonders I couldn't see the edges of the mountain clearly it's a pure drop.

Being confident on my body I impulsively jump. Maybe I have too much confidence on my body? It seems I might be getting a little overconfident, I don't want to waste a revive from something stupid that could've been avoided. If this was before I would never have jumped off a cliff where I couldn't see the bottom.

I fly through the air as gravity increases my speed on my fall. I am flying at least 90 miles per hour right now and am continuously increasing, must be the heavy sword. I enter the field of clouds and feel the cool wetness of the clouds on my skin.

I have been falling for a while, how high is the mountain? I finally exit the field of clouds and can see what is below. There is a town a little to the right of where I am landing it has about 400 houses and some other things, where I am landing is a dense forest full of lush green trees.

I totally forgot how I was going to land, I will just land on my feet heavily, no biggie. Grandfather taught me a little on how to use Fighting Aura so I condense it and harden my body. It isn't significant enough to turn me black just barely enough to change to a slightly darker shade of skin. I am rapidly reaching the tree line and the ground shouldn't be far off. I position my body for landing hard. I pass the treelike in a mere second and heavily hit the floor. I create a small, thin translucent sphere-shaped membrane of Fighting Aura that is at the tips of my body as extra protection.

When I landed I create a big crater, cracking the ground and sending a shock-wave of dust in every direction. This crater is at least 18 feet deep and 30 feet in diameter, the surrounding trees were uprooted and sent flying into the other trees either smashing themselves or those trees.

...I should work on my landings. I jump and land on the outer perimeter of my crater. I look at it, then I look up to where I came from. "...How am I getting back up? It took me almost half an hour of free falling at high speed to even reach the ground floor of this cliff like mountain." I jump and pass the tree line, I use the mountain as a compass of where I am, I need to head to that town I saw to ask where I can find some monsters. I'll worry about getting back later.

I jump into the air and I turn my head to my left and I see the town. I land and I extend my tail and stab a thick tree branch. I lift myself into the air and I stay in the air. Then I rock back fully extending my tail to twenty feet the use some strength to launch myself towards the town. I fly true and straight towards the town. I put too much strength, at this rate I'll pass the town. I wrap my tail on my waist twice then use it as an anchor to stop myself. By the way it's my first time ever trying these things so they are imperfect.

My tail stabs into the ground and I transform the tip into a wide anchor, I stop immediately but... but the momentum kept going and like an idiot who forgot his skills fell like a tree would and created a small crater with my face. This happened in the blink of an eye with me having not reacted fast enough.

My tail retracts back to me and I push my face out of the ground and I grab my face with my hands. That hurt like hell! I open my eyes and I see a notification that says -10,000. ... I hurt myself quite hard with that. I am not bleeding or bruised because I have abnormally strong skin because of my training. I notice on the ground is my face print. I chuckle to myself. I stand up and dust myself off. Good thing no one saw that.

Just as I finish my thought I spot in the corner of my eye a human child, approximately my age, hiding behind a large tree. It is a girl with brown hair and is cute. She looks like she is holding back a laugh and her eyes are a little teary.

I turn towards her and say, "What's so funny?" I visible watch her spot my tail and horns and I see her face turn from about to laugh to an ashen faced about to cry, "I-I...didn't... I'm sorry! P-Please don't take me from m-mommy! I-I just wanted to see the f-forest!" She says that in a weak voice that sounds like she is about to cry and immediately gets on her knees and and slams her forehead into the ground.

I react instantly when she slams her forehead on the ground. I rush over to her and appear next to her in an instant then raise her to a standing position. I see blood flow from her forehead and tears are streaming down her face, her face full of fear.

What the hell is she talking about? Take her from her mom? The hell is wrong with her kowtowing so harshly at a young age?

I ask with a normal voice, "Why would I take you?" My voice causes her to gasp and cry more profusely while falling on her butt and started backing away on her butt trying to escape with pure fear in her face. "Please don't kill me! I won't disobey mommy anymore! Please! I'll never enter the precious forest in the night again!"

I yell back in response, "What?! Kill you?! Why would I do that?! Calm down and explain!" She is bawling on the floor speaking incoherent words.

I spot a pack of wolves closing in, there are probably 150 of them. Why so many wolves? I impulsively pick her up and put her on my shoulder while she struggles hitting my back, wiggling to free herself in vain and cries even harder than before. "NO! DON"T TAKE ME AWAY! MOMMY! WAH!" This little girl is screaming her lungs out she doesn't know I am saving her life and she is probably attracting that large pack by releasing so much fear.

I could tell because I gain some power from fear and I could certainly feel it. I could kill all these wolves but there is no reason for me to do so since it's a normal creature and I wouldn't benefit from killing it, most likely.

I jump onto a high branch and then push hard landing on a far away branch before kicking of to another. I lose the pack in a second. I sit on a high thick branch and place her closer to the tree. She backs away from me, her back firmly against the tree. She is still crying but quieter than before. I patiently wait until she calms down.
