"Barthiz take him to recover and come back to me afterward. Do not lay him on the bed prepare some warm towels on the ground and lay him there."
Barthiz bowed before gently lifting Lucas up and carrying him away. Artemis smiled, proud of his son for what he accomplished today. Whether it was the mana gathered around him or the fact that he was capable of enduring the pain while maintaining focus between two completely different sources of power, it was impressive.
Truth be told Artemis was expecting his son to delay the process and in the event, he tried to move forward with it he wholeheartedly prepared to intervene as he felt almost completely positive that he would not be able to endure or split his focus but in the end, he ended up doing both.
'Looks like Barthiz will have to train on her own today and by the time he wakes up he should already be much stronger than her by many times.'
Artemis deeply sighed as the day was not going as expected at all.
--250 Miles Away From Outskirts of Kingdom of Dawn--
"Hurry your asses up we don't got all fucking day! I expect us to reach the borders by tomorrow evening, any pussies that can't keep up can go report to the emperor for their execution!"
Krodden Stood on a small hill a kilometer away from the rest of the demons as the commander he chose shouted orders at the rest of the group. Each demon stood at 8 feet tall minimum, with some reaching 9 or even 10 feet tall. This was an elite force comprised of demons of the top one percent of the top one percent.
This was a force capable of decimating any 100,000 man army as long as there were no grand council mages among them. The group consisted of 234 demons total if such a force were to have been gathered earlier then the demonic empire may have been able to continue pushing into the territory of the Hadriel Empire.
The only reason such a force was not gathered before was due to the heavy competitiveness that such high-level demons would naturally have amongst each other. Just to bring this group together for a single mission the emperor himself had to act and promise many rewards.
Due to the fact that the current emperor was not Artemis, he was not strong enough to completely force his will onto some of the stronger demons. This was not to say that he was weak by any means in fact if each one of the demons were to attack him all at once he would be able to hold them back and take at least 90 percent of the attackers with him if he were to die.
Despite this though he would not even be able to stop a single one if they chose to disobey and flee. As such it would be too costly and inefficient to group all his strongest leaders together permanently during the invasion. The group of demons continues moving forwards nosily as arguments and fights occasionally broke out.
As Krodden stayed ahead of the group scouting ahead due to the fact that he didn't want anything to do with such simple-minded loud-mouthed demons he suddenly stopped as a grim expression showed on his face. He could feel an extremely powerful pull of mana ahead as the mana in the wind became nearly corporeal.
Such a powerful force of mana caused the once loud group of demons to become eerily quiet as the only sound that remained was that of the increasingly powerful wind.
'What manner of power is this?! Is a grand council mage attempting to breakthrough and comprehend the laws of the wind? I have never heard of such a thing happening though! I thought it was impossible for mortals to actually touch upon the laws, is a divine being descending from the heavens?!
The divines have not been seen since all of creation though and even the strongest angel does not wield a power such as this! Wait, it can't be!'
Krodden's face paled as he remembered what the emperor had said when he was given his mission.
"I believe Gaolun perished during the process of sealing a powerful being that may even have the capabilities of completely overturning our invasion with their presence. Now it seems that someone has forcefully broken the seal and awakened this being. No matter the cost you are to go to kill this thing and if you can not kill it then you will need to at least seal it.
I will gather the strongest demons we have from across all of the empire. You will lead them on this mission and there are no restrictions even if they all have to die you absolutely cannot fail this time if you do everything we have been doing all the planning every demon lost will be for nothing!"
Krodden felt his back become drenched and felt thick beads of cold sweat come down is head making him look as if he was in a rainstorm as he thought of the emperor's words.
'Am I really expected to battle against such a powerful force? Even with the sacrifice of all the demons with me, I am unconfident in being able to even last five minutes against such a force!'
--Holy Empire of Hadriel, Capital City of Creation--
In a dark and eerily silent room where only whispers could be heard, occasional flashes of lightning made of pure mana could be seen as eight Cloaked figures sat around a grand round table. Each one of them looked like wise old men each having long beards and aged faces giving off an aura of wisdom and experience.
A few discussed different methods of meditation in hopes of one day being able to break through to the power of laws while others discussed different strategies to combat the demonic invasion. Suddenly all the flashes of lightning disappeared the mana being drawn into the wind and to another location.
Each one of the men suddenly stopped discussing all topics as they collectively looked in a certain direction each on having a serious look on their faces. A few moments past before the mana finally settled down and there was once again flashes of mana lightning in the room. Another few moments passed before one of the mages finally spoke up.
"Such power in the wind alone and there were no signs of it being drawn on or restrained in any way. Has an absurdly talented youth started learning magic?"
The other men in the room nodded in agreement with what he said before another man spoke up.
"It seems a weaker mage may have accidentally stumbled upon an unpolished gem, no gem would not be the right word for this amount of talent as if such a talent was to mature they would shine so bright that they could compete with the sun itself!"
The old men looked at each other with smiles shaking their heads as the one who had just spoken loved to make things sound grand with his choice of words. After standing in silence for a moment as each of them was thinking of ways to get such a talent to be their disciple someone finally spoke up.
"Well before we decide who gets him as a disciple shouldn't we all go collect them first?"
Each one of them laughed as they realized they were getting ahead of themselves before slowly exiting the room preparing to collect the immense talent that seemingly appeared from nowhere.
