222 Monke and Emotional Baggage
The evacuation has been moving smoothly… Well, as smooth as possible after the sudden fistfight among their own. Apparently, the fight revolved around the concept of which is better: elves or catgirls?
A stupid topic to fight about, but nonetheless, a topic people would fight for.
'I can somehow understand where they're coming from. But with my girlfriend being a catgirl, I have my biases.' I snorted mentally as I watched the line of humans slowly make their way inside the school and into my Dungeon.
I also made sure that my primates and some of the humans from the Human Town were the main force for guiding them to their temporary homes until the storm blows over and their permanent residences are fixed.
Which might take a few weeks to a few months, judging by the storm still increasing in power as it continued on its destructive path.
Drake, who no longer needed to protect me, followed his friends into my Dungeon as he chatted with them with a smile. A smile, which I noticed to be genuine from the bottom of his heart.
Damn anime protagonist. We need a mangaka to make your story into reality. And no, I won't settle for American comics. No disrespect to them, but the current censorship going on is just too ridiculous. You might as well trust your story to a newbie studio in Japan.
At least, even if the quality is shit, there won't be any censorship, as far as I'm aware. And I'd take that over any kind of censorship.
Like, seriously, there was this one anime that was literally r-18, but not hentai. One anime streaming service in America in particular censored the lewd parts, but seeing motherfucking black bars taking half of the screen instead of the usual light mist was just too fucking ridiculous!
As my rant inside my head continued to devolve, I was pulled out of my funk by a soldier who was staring at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Sir, there's a commotion at the entrance of your Dungeon. Two civies have been calling for you, saying that they were your parents before your death."
At the mention of two people claiming to be my parents, my mood all but soured and a growl escaped my lips.
"Great… Those two…" I clicked my tongue and regarded the soldier with an intense glare. "Tell your colleagues I'm on my way, and let the other civilians through, except for those two. I will personally deal with them myself."
"Sir, with all due respect-"
"No, I won't do anything harmful to them. Just give them a piece of my mind." I sighed as the soldier in front of me began to tremble slightly. "Those assholes had it coming to them for a long time… By the way, can I tell you to relay some information about those two to your higher-ups?"

~ Third Person POV ~
Greg and Janice Baker were not having a good time. It was already bad enough that their ticket out of their social alienation was killed in broad public. What's worse was that the bank was doubling down on them to pay for their debts.
Greg had to work overtime for a month, while Janice had to – and she was incredibly pissed about it – sell her body just to get some extra cash to pay for their debts.
'This is all that damn brat's fault.' Janice scowled as she recalled the face of her no-good son. 'If he hadn't up and died, we wouldn't be in this situation.'
Sadly, as much as it is their fault for their current predicament, they wouldn't admit it due to their personalities. It isn't because of their upbringing, nor is it because of a tragic past.
They were just horrible people, plain and simple.
They didn't need a reason to commit immoral acts against their own flesh and blood. They just did.
It was from this lifestyle with his parents that Jionni grew distant and depressed when he was still alive. Greg and Janice used him as a tool to climb the social ladder, even though he wasn't doing jack shit due to the problem lying within them instead of their son.
But, given their personalities, they wouldn't notice even if you smacked them with a wrecking ball and pointed out all of their flaws.
"I demand to see my son, Joseph!" Greg's obnoxious voice echoed around the classroom as he zeroed in on the soldier who was growing tired of his tirade.
"Sir, please, we've already called for him and he is coming right this instant."
"No! I need to see him now!"
'Fucking Kevin.' The soldier grumbled mentally as he was assaulted with various insults and profanities, while Janice watched it all happen with a condescending frown. The soldier noticed this and re-evaluated his thoughts. 'And Karen.'
As this continued to happen, the line of evacuees continued to head inside the Dungeon, ignoring the irritating voice of the Kevin talking smack about the soldier and his regiment.
As much as the soldier wanted to arrest this man for his behavior, he had to restrain himself because, one, the Kevin claimed to be the parent of the bulletproof gorilla. That much, he could understand, even if the name they gave him was wrong, and he did not want to be in the crosshairs of that guy. And two, unless things get physical, he will continue to take the words like a boulder.
As Greg began to lose patience, a loud thud caught their attention. The soldier sighed in relief, while Greg and Janice had plastic smiles plastered on their faces.
"Joseph! So glad to see you!" Greg's voice did a 180 as he approached Jionni, whose face was a mask of indifference. Looking past the mask, the soldier cackled inwardly at the glorious soap opera and massacre that was about to happen in front of him.
"Greg." Jionni replied with a toneless voice, but Greg wasn't having none of that.
"Now, now, Joseph. Is that any way to treat your parent?" Greg grabbed Jionni's right arm, while Janice approached the two with a loving and caring smile.
Which was clearly fake to those who know by now the personalities of these two.
"Joseph, honey. We were worried about you." Janice let a few tears slip out of her eyes as she hugged Jionni's other arm. "When we learned about your death, we were heartbroken."
As the two continued to pepper Jionni with their love and care, Jionni had enough of it and gagged.
"Motherfucker… You two are even worse than I remember…" The words that slipped out of his mouth shocked the two adults, while the soldiers around the area, who were watching the drama unfold, smirked.
'Finally, goodbye Kevin and Karen.' Was the singular thought of all the soldiers present.
"What do you mean, Joseph?" Greg brought up a confused and disarming smile, which made Jionni feel like he was about to puke.
"And my name isn't Joseph. It's Jionni." The gorilla growled before he grabbed Greg's and Janice's arms and forcefully pulled them away from him. "Get your filthy hands off of me. You two disgusting pieces of human garbage, quite frankly, make me want to retch."
A stupid topic to fight about, but nonetheless, a topic people would fight for.
