20 Special Training

"Hmmm, just another five minutes..."

'pika pika' Pikachu keeps knocking my face with his paw.

*yaaaaawn* "what's wrong Pikachu?"

'pi pi' huh? The sun is rising, I would prefer to sleep a little more but it's time to train.

I pat Pikachu on the head as I sat on the bed and rub the back of my neck.

"Thanks for waking me up buddy. Give me a moment to fully awake then we can leave."

'Pikachu'

I walked into the bath and used cold water to wash my face and draw away my sleepiness. I smiled at myself in the mirror. I did put my cap and adjust it until it looks fine. "Let's do it."

I walked into my room again and take my bag.

"Come Pikachu, we are leaving." He jumped to my back and climb up to my shoulder. Like yesterday, there is almost no one on the streets. I walked to the outskirts and towards en hydroelectric plant.

I take Metapod out of his pokeball, he will grow faster if he stays out with the rest.

'Metapod'

"Hi there Metapod, from now on I'll be helping you to evolve." I gave him a reassuring smile before I put him on my bag. I can't say that he fits like a glove but at least he can see the landscape from there.

After a long time, I finally got to see the old building.

"Look Pikachu, there is it. It doesn't look too good but we are only going to stay there for a couple of days, it will be enough for us."

'pika pi' He doesn't seem worried about that. But well, I suppose that he as a wild pokemon was used to sleeping outside.

A few minutes later I was next to the dry river. It's not really dry yet but water barely flow on it, there is no pokemon on this river.

"All right everyone, come out."

I threw the pokeballs into the air with my both hands and let my pokemon out before I catch the balls again. It's something relatively easy to do if you have good reflexes.

"I hope that all of you enjoyed your rest yesterday because we are going to train really hard for the next three days."

Let's see...I'll start with Mankey.

"Mankey, your training is simple. Come with me." I walked toward the river and then turn around to explain him.

"You already are wearing a Macho Brace and that will help you to get stronger faster. Your training today is simple, you see this little river next to us? I want you to remove all the stones on 30 steps from here. Do it carefully."

Mankey walked into the cold water and start to pull the stones from it and throw them to the side. 30 Mankey's steps should be around 10 or 20 meters. It's not too much for a fighting-type pokemon, but the Macho Brace will make this task really difficult."

I walked back toward the rest of my pokemon.

Now it's Karna turn, he is fast but it doesn't have many moves.

"Karna you are going to train a new move, its called Smokescreen.

As its name suggests, you will throw smoke from your mouth and use it to hide. It sounds simple but its something new for you, take your time and you can try to go close to the river and burn something with your tail but try to limit yourself to little things like fallen leaves or branches."

'chaaaar' He walked away from us and started to burn some dry branches

"Well then. Rattata and Pidgey, you two. Come here."

I took a rope from my bag and make a big knot in one end and broach loop knot on the other end.

"Rattata you need to train the strength in your neck and your bite. You are going to bit this knot and not let it go. Don't bite it too hard, you just need to keep yourself on it without releasing it"

He doesn't really understand what was about but he bit the knot anyway.

"Pidgey, you are going to take this and fly around here. Don't fly too high."

'Prrrr prrrrr!'

He has been training with stones so is not really different from that. Rattata got scared but it was too late to release the knot as Pidgey was already flying around.

'piiikaaaaa' Pikachu cheered him as Rattata fly away.

"He will be all right Pikachu, don't worry. It's your turn now."

'pika pi?' He is clueless about his training, he will feel some pain but it will not really hurt him.

"Come Pikachu, we need to prepare everything."

We walked into the hydroelectric plant and found an old generator.

"This generator will produce high voltage energy, it will help you so you don't get tired while you train your new move. A static charge already flows through you, today I want you to wrap yourself on it. I'll move the water wheel outside, this will not hurt you but it can be painful if you don't release enough electricity ok?."

'pikachu'

I hooked the generator to Pikachu cheeks and go myself on the water wheel.

"I'll start now Pikachu."

As slowly as I can, I started to move the wheel. I don't want to super-charge Pikachu, I just need to give some spare energy.

'Metapod'

"Yeah. I know, Metapod. I look stupid doing this. But Mankey is busy and I don't have anything else to do. And you my friend, will keep me company while I do it.."

Pidgey and Rattata got tired first, so they stopped from time to time. After almost an hour, Karna stopped burning things and started spitting some smoke but not enough to call it a move. Mankey has started to sweat a lot from pulling rocks from the river, but he is already halfway.

The only one that keeps training without problems is Pikachu because he is cheating with the generator. We keep going until noon and stop to rest.

"You are really crazy when it comes to training."

I raised my glare to meet her.

"Hi there Misty, we just stop to rest. What do you need?"

"Brock asked me to bring you some sandwiches. It took me hours to get here, so you better be thankful." She took out a box from her bag and gave it to me.

"Thanks, I appreciate it."

I opened the box and take a sandwich, then I threw back the box to Misty.

"They are too much for one person, help yourself they are tasty."

I stood up and feed my pokemon while Misty sits and take a sandwich from the box to eat.

"So what kind of training are you doing this time?"

"Well, Karna is learning Smokescreen and Pikachu is getting used to high voltage electricity. The rest has been doing physical training."

"Your Charmander should not be learning flamethrower or something like that?"

"Have your Staryu already learned Confuse Ray or Psychic?"

"What does that has to do with my question?"

"That all those attacks are rank advanced ones. Almost every fire-type start learning Ember when they are young. After, they can learn Fire Spin or Flame Burst. Flamethrower is a rank advanced move, there are some lucky ones that learn that attack from its parents but the rest have to struggle really hard to learn it."

"That seems complicated, but at least he is not doing brute training like the rest."

"They are not ready to learn new moves, Pikachu would be the next one learning a new attack. As soon as he gets used to the high voltage we can start to test his new move."

"That's why you are training next to the hydroelectric plant? To charge Pikachu until he learns how to deal with that much energy?"

"Bingo!" A smirk appeared on my face, she can be grumpy but she sure is not an idiot.

Misty looked at Pikachu for a moment before she stood up

"Well, good luck with that. I'm leaving."

"See you, tomorrow!"

"Who said that I'll come back!" She frowns

"Brook's food is awesome but I'm also fine with some burgers."

I turned around to go toward the river to check Mankey progress and waved my hand at Misty as she is already leaving.

Let's see, he made a really good job. The sand at the bottom of the river it feels right, this will work to improve Mankey speed. But I leave him to rest a little more.

"Pidgey, come. I'll give you new indications."

'Prrrrr'

"You don't need the rope this time, you will not be lifting anything. I want you to fly between the nearby trees, try to go full speed and don't hit any branch. You are already strong but your reflexes may be too slow for your speed."

'Prrr prrrr' He fluttered his wings and accelerated, it's been a time since he flew without extra weight.

"Rattata you are going to rest, tomorrow you are going to start to test you Bite against the nearby trees."

'Rattata' He ran into the building and finds a place to sleep.

"Come Pikachu, show me your progress."

Electricity did flow around him, but it seems too focused on it.

"All right Pikachu, you did it very well. Now I want you to practice your Quick Attack while you keep the electricity flowing around you."

After giving him indications to Pikachu, I sat next to Mankey and keep him company along with Metapod. Karna finishes his food and returned to practice his Smokescreen.

Today training it's going fine. We have to get ready if I plan to stay on Mt. Moon for a couple of days. There are many rock-type pokemon and I may even come across the team Rocket again.
