13 Power Leveling

Red: "Look how much money we have Pikachu, come to this forest was the right choice. "

'Pikaaaa pika pi' he nods with his head.

For the last two days, I've been searching all the forest for bug catchers. Fight them is easy and I have gotten some money. Karna and Pidgey did grow a little while fighting.

Red: "it's getting dark, its a shame but we should stop our hunt. Let's find a place to sleep."

'Pikachu'

We walked for a few minutes before we hear a scream.

Girl: "kyaaaaaa! Stay away from me!"

That voice means problems. Why is she even still here? She still has her bike and her pokemon should be capable of defeat any pokemon in this forest.

Red: "Come Pikachu, that useless girl needs our help."

'Pika pi'

Pikachu looks serious. I did just walk carefree. It was not hard to pinpoint her location with her screams.

Misty: "Don't come closer! You disgusting bug!"

Red: " Woah, to think that there will be a trainer that can be cornered by a little Caterpie."

Misty: "It's you! Hurry up and get rid of that Caterpie."

Red: "yeah yeah. Pikachu, we are going to test your Quick Attack against him"

Pikachu jumps and started to run

Caterpie did don't stand a chance, I did take this chance and use [eye of the soul] to see his stats.

Caterpie Lv.3, his ability is Shield Dust, and his nature is naive.

Well, that nature is not a good one, but he will become a Butterfree at Lv.13 and they were really strong in the early game. I could train him to become the stronger Butterfree but I don't know if that is what he wishes for.

Well, anything is better than stay here being bullied by Spearow and Pidgey.

I did throw the Pokeball and catch him easily.

Red: "Good job Pikachu, we got another friend."

I looked at Misty

Red: "You should hurry up and find a place away from here, many insect-type Pokemon are usually more active on this area at night."

Misty: "W-what? But its almost night."

I shrug

Red: "You has left Viridian City 3 days ago, how come that you are still here? On your bike you should has been able to cross it."

Misty: "I lost it..." She said in a low voice

Red: "Sorry but we are not leaving this forest in at least a week."

Misty: "Why would you wish to stay here!?"

Red: "Because there are many trainers and many pokemon that are weak against mine. I'm going to take this chance to strengthen my pokemon's confidence."

'And their level.'

I did turn around and started to walk. Pikachu stays worried, I did look back and I did see her following us.

'piiii piika pika'

I did pat his head. I will regret this later...

Red: "If you are going to follow us, you well could also walk along with us. You are being creepy."

Misty: "how rude! And I'm not following you, I'm just leaving this place full of bugs."

'What is she talking about, it's obvious that we are still deep into the forest you would need to walk half of a day to leave.'

She started to walk with us and smiled at Pikachu.

Misty: "Thank you Pikachu, you are really a gentleman. Others could learn a thing or two from you."

My face turned expressionless

Red: "Pikachu, should we leave Caterpie sleep with us? Maybe that could strengthen our friendship"

Misty got pale

Misty: "I'm sorry! I will not talk again, please don't let him out!"

We keep walking for a while until we find a place away from the swarms of Beedrill.

I started to take my sleeping bag from my bag.

Red: "You better wake up early if you want to eat breakfast before we start to move."

Misty: "Understood." she said with an annoyed tone.

why are they being so noisy...

Red: "Keep going guys, you 2 should be able to use Iron tail very soon. Pidgey, you need to build up more strength in your winds, keep flying."

'Rattataaaa' 'Piiiikaaaa' 'prrrr prrrrrr'

Red: "Don't waste your time complaining. I will be training with Mankey."

Pikachu and Rattata were lifting rocks with their tails. And Pidgey has a stone tied to him.

Misty: "What is this! How can you do force your pokemon to do such a training!."

Red: "huh? You already wake up?"

Misty: "Don't try to change the subject, answer to me!"

Red: "What is there to explain? they are training, lifting weight it's an easy way to start to learns steel-type moves. It's not that hard to realize that."

Misty: "Don't you see that they are hurting?"

Red: "Tch, don't talk like if they were a bunch of weaklings. They train hard but I will never overwork them. If you can not understand that difference then keep quiet."

Misty: "Why you..." There is no point to keep talking with him.

I walked to Pikachu, he did note that I was there as he raises his glare.

Misty: "I'm leaving this forest now, Pikachu. You can come with me if you want. You don't have to be with someone like him and go through this."

He glowered at my before lowering his look and keep training.

'piiiiika piiiiika piiiiika'

Red: "you are done? you are already leaving isn't that right? Goodbye" He said while looking at me with a glazed expression. I frowned

Misty: "I will stay a little longer."

He takes out a pokeball and let other of his pokemon come out. A Mankey.

Red: "Let's see how much have you improved." He turns around and started to walk away.

Mankey rushes to attack him.

Misty: "Look out!"

Red just move a little but was enough to dodge Mankey's hit. He is crazy!

Red: "You sure are eager, but you are being too slow. Try again!"

Mankey kept attacking with punches and kicks but almost everyone was dodged if not deflected.

Red: "You cannot hit me, not even think about hit another pokemon."

Mankey got angry and rush to attack him again.

Red: "You are full of openings." He makes a step forward while dodging Mankey attack and did hit him with his palm. Mankey fell on his knees while looking at his trainer.

Red: "Don't look at me like that, it's not that I'm strong. It's you who are too weak."

Mankey lowers his head and I could see the pained expression in his eyes.

Misty: "How can you be so cruel!"

He doesn't even look at me and walked to Mankey and lowered to meet his eyes.

Red: "I can help you to get stronger, to reach heights that you have never imagined. But you need to listen to me."

Mankey looked doubtful of his words, but when he raised his look and see his eyes. All trace of doubts disappear.

Red: "All right then! It's breakfast time. Come, everyone, that's enough training for today. Remember that today there are also going to be many battles."

Woaaah, that was really close. It was stupid to use my aura to attack,

I have to use too much aura to keep on with Mankey rhythm and he is not even Lv.10. I knew that I have no chance in a fight against Pokemon but reality overwhelming.

I let out Caterpie and Karna.

Red: "Ok, guys. Your food is ready. Eat till your heart is content"

I did sit close to Caterpie and have him to taste the food, he started to eat quickly after that.

Misty: "What are these?" She said from behind a tree.

When did she walk there?

Red: "Pokeblocks, they have all the nutrients that my pokemon will need. And the taste is according to each one."

Misty: "Where have you bought such a thing?"

Red: "I did it myself." She looks at me in awe.

I did take a flask with tea and drink it. I will be leaving this forest soon, I need to catch a Weedle before that.

After we finish, I did that everyone but Pikachu comes back to their pokeball.

Red: "Let's go Pikachu, we have a lot to do today."

Just at that moment, a Pidgeot did land close to us. I knew that Ash catches one of them, a terrible idea. He has better stats that Pidgey but he is under level, a Pidgey could evolve to Pidgeotto at Lv.18. But this one is not even Lv.8. He is not worth catching, it will be hard for him to learn new attacks.

'Piiikaa!'

What's wrong, Pikachu?

Huh? That Pidgetto is playing with something...seems to be a Weedle.

Misty: "That Pidgeotto is attacking a Weedle, we have to help him."

Red: "eh? I thought that you hated bugs"

Misty: "I do, but I can't stand to see any Pokemon being hurt."

Pikachu could OHKO that Pidgeotto with ThunderShock but it can also hit Weedle.

Red: "Pikachu use Quick Attack on Pidgeotto."

'Pika pi!'

'Pidgeoooottooo'

Red: "Leave now, Pidgeotto."

He did open his wing to pretend be more strong, but he did run away once Pikachu shows him some sparks.

We walked close to Weedle. To my surprise, is a very yellow one. He sees us and tried to use Poison Sting against us but he fails. He did keep trying, I decided to see his stats.

She kinda looks in a bad state but nothing dangerous. I was about to catch her when I started to hear something. It sounds like bad news.

Red: "This looks bad, a swarm is coming!"

Misty: "WHAT? But we help Weedle, they will not attack us. Will they?"

Red: "Tch, they will pursue us if we run. You don't seem to be able to fight a swarm of bugs" I let all my pokemon out. They looked confused.

Misty: "What do you think are you doing! We have to run."

Red: "Guys, a unique chance has been presented. Prepare for battle.'

We could see the swarm rushing to us.

Red: "Pikachu, let's start with a ThunderShock."

'Pi ka chuuuuu'

No one fell, but some of them have become slower. They got paralyzed.

'Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz'

Red: "Karna, attack with Ember! Pidgey use Gust! We better reduce their numbers now."

'Chaaaaaaaaar'

'Prrrrrrr prrrrrrrrrrr'

The two attacks get rid of at least a third of the swarm.

I can't use AOE attacks again, it could hit my own pokemon.

Red: "all right everyone, Pikachu and Rattata, use Quick Attack. Pidgey and Caterpie, you two will be attacking with Tackle. Mankey and Karna, use your claws to attack them."

'Bzzzzzzzzz'

The battle did last a few minutes, 3 of my pokemon get poisoned. It's fortunate that I did have the antidotes that bought in Viridian City. I also did use some potions on Rattata and Caterpie. Caterpie evolved into Metapod.

I finally walked to the little Weedle that cause all of this, I throw a pokeball at him and catch it without much problem. The pokeball did disappear a seconds later, I know that it goes to Prof. Oak lab.

Well. Let's check the gains from this little skirmish.
