3 A goodbye and a proposal.
4 years have passed. At this moment I find myself resting in the shade of a tree.
Sister Daisy will leave for her journey tomorrow and I am thinking about what gives her as a parting gift.
I have not seen anything related to Pokeblocks so far, they probably exist but are not the mainstream yet.
With that in mind, I started to write something and make use of my limited art skills to illustrate it. If she decides to use it or not is up to her, but it can give her an edge in the competitions.
---------------Daisy POV-----------------
Delia: "Oh Daisy, you look ready for anything. We are going to miss you dearly"
Daisy: "Thank you for everything, I will miss you and your stories too. But its moment to create my own ones, and I will call you every now and then"
Delia: "I am sure that your parents would be proud to see you if they were in the town.
Ash hurry up, Daisy is already leaving!"
Ash: "I am coming, mom!"
It's getting late, I also have to go to my granddad 's lab to say goodbye.
Finally, Ash comes out, bringing a letter.
Ash: "Sister Daisy! sorry for the wait, I was preparing this!" He said while giving me the letter.
"It's my parting gift, I hope this help to you to achieve your dream." I wonder what he has written...
Daisy: "I was already thinking that you have forgotten about me. Can I ask you a favor? would you keep an eye on my little brother, Gary, for me?"
Ash: "Consider it done." He said with a serious expression, I can help but smile and give him a hug.
"I am going to miss you so much Ashy-boy."
Ash: "Don't worry too much, we will meet again."
I started to walk away and I turned to say goodbye.
Delia/Ash: Goodbye and take care! / bye-bye!
I get into the lab to find my granddad.
Prof. Oak: "I was starting to worry about you young lady." He said with a concerned face.
Daisy: "Its ok granddad, I was saying goodbye to Ash and Delia"
Prof. Oak: "All right then." He walks to a group of Pokeball and takes one.
"This pokemon is very special. Its said that they bring luck and happiness so I decided that would be perfect to become your starter." Then from the Pokeball, a pink and smiling pokemon come out. I know this one, is a Chansey, they are very gentle pokemon. I look to my granddad asking for an explanation, after all its a really rare pokemon.
Prof. Oak: "I know what are you thinking, yes. Wild Chanseys are extremely rare to find. This one belonged to a Nurse Joy, until recently, but she was sent to other region and Chansey needs a good trainer. And I know that you are that trainer."
I look at Chansey, I waved my hand.
"Hello there Chansey, do you want to become my partner?" I said with a smile. Chansey look at me for a moment and then she smiled again as she nods.
Daisy: "I'm going to call you Seych, do you like it?"
Seych let out a cheerful sound as she agreed.
After that, she goes back to her Pokeball and I give a hug to my granddad before I go. While I do it the letter fell from my pocket, I have already read it.
Prof. Oak: "huh? what is this?"
Daisy: "Ah, its a gift from Ash. Some notes about pokemon nutrition. I don't understand much about pokemon alimentation but this was really easy to understand."
Prof. Oak: "I suppose it will not bother you if I see it."
Daisy: "Sure, but you have to return it. Even if they turn to be nonsenses at the end, it was a gift and could bring me some luck!"
After he starts to read it his expression turn serious and then thoughtful.
Prof. Oak: "It's an interesting hypothesis. In fact, there are some studies that showed a correlation between the flavor of foods and pokemon behavior."
Daisy: "So it could work, right?"
Prof. Oak: "I can't affirm that. We only would know that with certainty after some testing. I expect you to send me your comments about it. You said that Ash writes this? I know that he likes to read Pokemon books but to think that he can come with something like this. Maybe I can help to satisfy his curiosity."
Daisy: "Hehe, Ashy-boy is a little genius. I know that he was special."
It was noon already and I have to go if want to make it up to the Route 1 and have time to set up a camp before the night falls.
---------------Ash POV-----------------
Pallet Town is really peaceful, is easy to fell asleep in the shade of the trees. I'm running out of books and my aura training it's not really working. At least, meditate help me to keep in focus.
Mom: "Ash, can you come for a moment. We have a guest."
I hear mom talking to me from the windows. It didn't take me much time until I get into the house.
Really an unusual guest... to say the least.
Ash: "Good morning Professor Oak"
Prof. Oak: "Hi there Ash, I want to talk with you about something. I hope this didn't bother you, Delia."
Mom: "Don't worry professor, I'm going out to the market to get some things. Talk as much as you want"
And then she goes.
Ash: "Do you want a glass of water, professor?"
Prof. Oak: "No. I'm fine, Ash."
I did walk myself to the couch, I'm really curious about what he wants.
Prof. Oak: "Ash, I understand that you have written some notes for Daisy. Can you tell me where do you learn that?" He said with a smiling face.
I also was smiling, I can't go back out now. F*ck... I also can't say that I've learned that from a video game, I have to come out with something. I can't let pass the chance.
Right at that moment, I saw two Pidgey fighting out in a nearby tree and it gave me an idea.
Ash: "Oh, that notes. It's something that did come to my mind while looking at a flock of Pidgey." I said confidently. "Even though they were the same Pokemon, they tend to behave differently. After watching them for a week I noticed some things.
There were two Pidgey that stood out of the rest. One of them was brave and the other one was timid. They are both Pidgey but they were completely the opposite, the brave one love the spicier food and was very strong while the timid one was really fast and have a sweet tooth.
The books that I've read say that pokemon can be classified by Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed.
Using this its possible to draw a table that shows that exist at least 25 natures that should apply to all the pokemon. I concluded that their tastes for food were related to their strengths and weakness."
After I finished talking, look up and saw the professor Oak. He was really astonished about my words and looking at me like if I was a rare kind of pokemon.
Prof. Oak: "That was an amazing deduction Ash, the way you look this world it makes you very special.
Actually, I'm taking care of Gary, but I speed a lot of time in the lab. What do you think about coming to my lab some hours every day? You could have access to my books and I would be really thankful if you can become friends with Gary."
Before I can say anything mom walk into the room.
Mom: "You should accept Ash, it's a good chance to learn something new. And remember that you promised Daisy that you would keep on eye on Gary."
I smile at her words. Maybe I could learn the differences between this world and the games.
Ash: "You know me, mom. Of course that I accept."
Prof. Oak: "All right then, see you tomorrow at 10 am."
