127 Chapter 127. Hope
"I think I saw her"
Alexander said and just stared into the darkness before him. Andrew was confused by his friend's words and wondered who she was.
"Is it.....?" He didnt take the name and tried to question Alexander. Alexander didnt even spare a glance to his friend and just shook his head. He knew, what Andrew was implying to and it wasn't the thing to which he was implying to.
How did Alexander knew, who was Andrew talking about? Simple. The softness in Hus voice says it all. And, no, she wasn't anywhere near to be associated with softness. It would a straight up insult.
Andrew's was confused yet, again as Alexander dismissed his thoughts. 'As far as I know, she is the one always in his mind. If not the Empress, then who cou-' Andrew's eyes widened like never before when a chord stuck in his head.
He looked at Alexander and immediately looked around to his surroundings. When he was convinced no one were pay in them any attention, he hissed in the direction of Alexander.
Alexander nodded his head at the reaction and realized, his friend got the meaning. He smiled and faced Andrew, who looked livid. His nostrils flaring up and his eyes unstable while looking at Alexander.
"Relax, Andrew. I didnt exactly see her." He comforted his agitated friend. Anyone, who knew about her would be having a similar reaction to this. He, too was close to loose mind, when he first saw that glimpse.
"Explain." Andrew said in stern tone. Alexander was about to open his mouth when he was stopped again. "Don't hide anything." Knowing Alexander for these many years and being close with him, these words were the perquisites when you inquired him.
Alexander sighed and started to tell the events, "When I saw her face in the hallways, I was speechless. I thought I was going crazy. She was an exact replica of her." Alexander explained, his eyes wide and hands flying in the directions.
But, Andrew was not having it. "She is in the Palace?" He was close to snapping someone's head now. Alexander sensed this and cane to the rescue of the situation.
"Calm down, Andrew. She wasn't her. They closely resemble each other. Thats it. There are probably many people out there looking like that. It means nothing. Just based on the looks we can't conclude anything." Alexander explained to his agitated friend.
"You don't seem convinced by your own words, Alex. I know you were thinking what I'm thinking right now, in the throne room. If they are related by some means, what are you going to do?" Andrew voiced out his worries.
"We can't be sure about that, Andrew. The possibilities of them being related are there, but without knowing her family I can't conclude anything. Even , if they are related, what are the odds that this girl, would know everything?" Alexander argued back.
No matter how disturbed he was, it is his responsibility as an Emperor to think from all the sides, before taking any action. "You don't that for sure, Alex. If there is a doubt, its good to investigate and get it out of the way. We have other problems, besides all that. And, if its try, then that would be a bigger problem than anything. We wouldn't want the history to repeat."
Andrew gave Alexander a pointed look. Alexander sighed heavily. "I told you what's bothering me, Andrew. Yes, I have doubts and I'll look into tho issue myself. And, of course, will keep you updated on this. I don't want those all to repeat itself. My empire and people have suffered even because of it. Whatever it is, I'm going look into the issue."
Alexander said, determination lacing his words. Andrew patted his back, in encouragement. Alexander already has a lot on his plate and now this problem showing up, would have a bigger effect on him.
And, now the bad feeling in the pit of the stomach was increasing. He didnt know, if it was him panicking or sue to the nature giving him signs. He just hoped, nothing bad happened. As a warrior thats all he can do. Hope.
...
Felix pulled the reigns of his horse, so that it can stop, before the mansion. When it stopped, he jumped down and carassed the head of the horse and led it to the stable. The stableman came forward and took the horse and guided it to one of the many stables.
Felix sighed and looked up to the dark sky. It was somewhere near to the midnight. He stared at the pitch black for a while and made his way into the mansion. He saw that the butler and some maids were in the main room of the mansion.
He frowned and approached them. When they saw one of the owners of the mansion was approaching them. they bowed from respect. Felix bowed back slightly. He looked at the butler of the house, "Is everything alright?" He inquired.
The butler scrambled forward and nodded his head. "Yes, Sir Felix. Everything is alright. The summoning alert was sounded and everyone gathered around here to know the situation." The butler explained in a hurry.
Felix nodded his head. "Everything is alright. The capital is under watch. Tomorrow, extra guards would be coming to the mansion. Is Aeinshia asleep?" He asked.
"Yes, Sir Felix. Princess Aeinshia is asleep already. Crown Prince personally escorted her here and the princess was already asleep, when they reached. Crown Prince hurried from here, as ssom as his highness heard the summoning alert." The butler explained clearly.
The butler knew, when it came to the matters of the daughter of Rutz, every bit of information should be given, or they could be beheaded. The princess held that kind of power among the royals and the family.
Felix smiled, convinced that Evan did his job correctly. He was about to go to his room, when he stopped and turned towards the maids. He spotted Shirley and some of them. who always lingered around his sister.
"The princess would be staying the Palace for a while. We would be leavung tomorrow early in the morning. Make sure to prepare her necessities." He said, without any expression on his face. And, the maids bowed back in response.
He turned and made his way, to his room, leaving the maids and the butler to return to their tasks and some to sleep. But, amongst them, one was really curious onto why the Princess would be going to the Palace.
'Isnt she supposed to go on her journey. Why would she be staying at the Palace for sometime. Something must have happened in the Palace. I must know what is happening there.'
Shirley thought as she made her way to the chambers of the princess. But, she went back downstairs, when she saw her brother enter the room. She better stay out of all this.
Felix slowly peeked into the room and saw his little sister, peacefully sleeping on her huge bed. Though, her bed was big enough to fit four to five people, she was snuggled up in the corner of it. He chuckled at her cute habit and went near her.
He sat the edge of the bed and saw her face. Her hair was slightly falling onto her face and her lips were set into a small pout. He smiled and the guilt was stabbing his heart, more than ever, now.
"I'm sorry, my sister. I won't be able to keep my promise this time." he softly whispered to her. A gust of wind. made him look to the window that was open and he frowned. He stood up and closed the window shut, after scanning the area around it.
When he was sure, everything was fine, he sighed. 'I'm becoming paranoid to some reason.' He thought to himself. It was true. These days, he was getting overly obsessed with his sisters security. One thing out of normal and he would go paranoid on thinking all the possibilities.
He took one glance at his sister, who was snuggling close to her blankets. He walked towards her and kissed her softly on the forehead and adjusted her blankets.
'I hope you would be safe my little sister. I hope I would never break my promise given to mother and myself.' He internally thought, while sadness took over his handsome face.
Thats what he should have now. No matter how suffocating and difficult the situation seem, only one thing could keep him calm. Hope.
He decided it was pretty late and he had only some hours before he would be leaving to the Palace. He needed the sleep as much he can, as he was sure he won't be getting any of it, anytime soon.
Shirley immediately scrambled behind a pillar, when she sensed, Peter was coming out. She wished she could grab some information, while he speaks to sleeping Aeinshia. But, no luck.
'I think I need to go to servants quarters tomorrow.'
Alexander said and just stared into the darkness before him. Andrew was confused by his friend's words and wondered who she was.
