3 Chapter 2
Oliver simply followed the other recruits since he didn't have a clue where he was and what he was supposed to behave like.
After brisk walking for around 10 minutes they reached a big dome-shaped building.
A red-haired woman was standing at the entrance of the building. Although she was just standing there, Oliver couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. There was something wild…. something predatory about her gaze.
Her sharp eyes, that looked very similar to that of an eagle, were constantly scanning the area.
Not only that, the way her shoulder length hair lightly rested on her slightly muscular arm, along with her toned legs and abdomen made her look like a real-life goddess of war.
Oliver decided that he would never fuck with this woman. The thought became more prominent after receiving a scathing glare from the said woman when his gaze stayed a tad bit too longer on those bulging mammary glands of hers.
'Well, she is wearing a black latex like material suit. Those knee-high boots don't help much too. *Sigh*'
After everyone had arranged themselves into a proper formation…again, the red-haired woman finally started speaking.
"Greeting, I'm Wolf. Please refer to me as Instructor or Instructor Wold. I will oversee the general training direction for your batch. The building behind me is a large-scale virtual reality chamber with individual rooms. Very helpful in getting your body used to rush of the battlefield. Now get inside and take a room. There will be an inactive armor in each room. Activate it and then you will be provided further instructions."
As soon as she finished her speech Instructor Wolf turned around and vanished into the virtual reality chamber.
All the recruits hurriedly followed her in. Oliver did too.
Though after Oliver entered the building, he realized that it was ever more outlandish than he could have ever imagined. Instead of finding a hall, a corridor, or stairs he just found a small room with a circular symbol in the center. It seemed to be embedded with various metals.
Now, Oliver knew that he didn't understand most of the technological stuff in this new world but even he wasn't stupid enough to not know what to do next.
He quietly and quickly walked into the middle of the symbol. After a moment, he saw a bright flash of light coming from the ground and then the scenery completely changed. A completely white room with a completely white bed appeared in front of him.
The room was very spacious. It felt like someone could even play basketball inside if they wanted to. Oliver turned around to examine the bed and he realized that there was white skeleton sleeping on it.
"The heck is this? Prologue to a sci-fi horror novel!"
But after a closer look Oliver realized that the bones of the skeleton had a metallic luster to them. Not only that, instead of a skull being connected to the spine Oliver found that a small chip had hijacked the position.
"Is this the armor Instructor Wolf was talking about? Looks awesome just like this, but now I'm really excited to find how it would look when fully deployed. Sooo…do I lie down on it or what? An instruction manual would have been greatly appreciated."
Oliver decided that it was better to take action rather than just think about stuff he had no idea about. So, he gently lowered himself on the skeleton, trying to match his spine to the spine on the skeleton. After a few twistings and turnings the back of his skull finally touched the small chip.
A jolt of electricity went through his brain and he blacked out.

|Neuro Chip successfully embedded….
|No anomaly found, No explosives found….
|Okay to proceed….
|Initializing…..
|Neuro Chip #4412345678 is active. Hello master, what would you like to call me?
Oliver realized that a lot of his firsts were taken away in less than an hour. Like talking to an AI, world travelling, joining the army, preparing for war, and the newest addition to the list is having an out of body experience.
Oliver felt it was very cool and creepy at the same time. Hearing a robotic voice directly inside your head, with a background music of every minute sound a human body makes, while not being able to move was a crazy thing even by Oliver's standard.
And Oliver knew that he had done some crazy stuff in his life. Like dating a scientist with cerebral palsy even though he had dropped out of the college. There was more where that came from, but they are stories for a later time.
"So, do I need to talk out loud to reply or you can read my thoughts?"
|I am perfectly capable reading and responding to upper layer thoughts of human brain. Any deeper
|level thought needs the authorization of my master i.e. you. What name would you like to refer to |me by, master?
'Yeah, that doesn't sound scary at all. So, are you a male or female? Or are you neutral?'
|I have no gender. But I can change my voice to suit your demands, master.
The chip then decided to give a few examples by speaking a dialogue between a family of three. Oliver was definitely impressed by it.
'I will call you Grace. If I were to die on a battlefield, I would much prefer the voice of a sexy woman rather than a man bidding me goodbye.'
|As you wish master. Would you like me to prepare a small farewell speech in advance?
Oliver was very happy to hear the slightly mature and smoky female voice. But when Grace finished the last part Oliver almost choked on his own saliva.
'Grace do you not know how to respond to a joke?'
|Was that a joke. Sorry master. I will keep this in my memory bank and come up with better responses.
'You..This…*Sigh* Ok, lets move on. What do I have to do next Grace?'
|Complete tutorial. Get the best suited position for you. Train like crazy if you don't want to die on the front line.
'Sounds hardcore. Well, the sooner I start the earlier I will finish. Let's do this Grace.
|Before that I would like to remind you a few things. Mainly the reason why I am here and what is an armor.
'Oh, that completely slipped my mind. Honestly, all of this is too shocking for me especially when you take my mental health in consideration.'
|No worries master. I will remind you of all the things you forget.
'Thanks Grace. And please don't call me master. I would like you to call me Oliver.'
|Okay Oliver. Now as I was saying, I am here to remind you of things. Like the weakness of different
|types of hive creatures and how to kill them quickly. I will also help you manage your armor better. |As for the armor, you must activate it as soon as possible. Although I am the one who will do |everything to activate it, but I still need your permission before I can start the activation procedure. |So, should I activate the armor Oliver?
'Do it Grace.'
