27 Chapter 27

*Andy's POV*

"Why are you crying?" I was beyond shocked when I heard that familiar voice. Could it be?

"Lydia?" I managed to free her from my tight embrace. I don't know if I'm dreaming but a pair of emerald eyes is staring back at me.

"You're awake! Oh God, you're awake! Please tell it's not a dream!"

"Mr. Parker, why are you here? Why am I here?" She looked at me in confusion. What's with the formality? Maybe she's just upset with me. I rushed outside and called for help. I still can't believe it. I thank God for this chance. I am going to love, protect, and take care of her as long as I can.

"How are you feeling?" I asked her. She was not able to answer my question when Dr. Woods barged into the room. A couple of her staff followed after a minute. The doctor looked at me in astonishment. No one can really explain what happened. Lydia was declared dead a few minutes ago but now she was eyeing everyone with a frown. She was as confused as everybody was. The doctor had checked on her and I am thankful that they did let me stay inside. I don't want to stay outside and lose her all over again. I'm not taking any chances. I lost her once and I am not going to let it happen. Ever again.

The next thirty minutes was in chaos. Everybody was making sure that Lydia is really fine. They had her undergo a series of test to make sure that she is really fine. After that, she was finally moved in a private room. She's still weak and needs to stay here in the hospital for a couple of days to recover.

Marcus and Diana are already inside the room when Lydia was moved. I am giving Diana a cold shoulder. I know I may be rude but I can't stand the fact that she lied to me. She was the reason why this all happened. Diana did such a horrible thing to me. I know that Diana regrets it now but I don't know if I can just forgive and forget. It's not that easy to let this go.

The twins are already settled in their hospital cribs. They were sleeping soundly. Marcus who adored Lydia so much like his little sister was beyond happy to see her awake. I know they became closed for sometimes without my knowledged, I just kept my silent. Marcus didn't question how it happened but he was very thankful that she is alive.

"Darling, we're here. Do you want to see our babies before we put you into bed?" I asked her gently. She's still in her wheelchair. She's been quite after all those test. She must have been really exhausted. Her face grew more confused.

"Our babies? What babies?" She looked at me as if I've grown two heads.

I didn't expect that. I don't know how I will answer that question. Marcus was worried now, came to my side and tried to save me. "Lydia sis, you gave birth to beautiful twins. You have a son and a daughter now. I'm just happy that you're awake now. You scared us."

"I'm sorry but do I know you?" Lydia was eyeing on Marcus. Indeed, I don't see recognition in her eyes. It was all confusion. But why did she remember me?

"I'm closed friend, you treated me like your brother. Don't you remember? It's Marcus or Mar, my nickname by you"

"Friend, brother? For real?" Her face was full of questions. It doesn't seem that she believes what she's hearing.

"Yes, little sis. I think you and boss have a lot of things to discuss so I'll leave you two." Marcus and few of his men left and promised that they will just stay at the coffee shop across the street. They will be back later. Diana was left at the same seat supervised by two big men.

Lydia was staring at me intently. God, how I missed this woman. "Mr. Parker, care to explain what happened? "

"Lydia, darling, you need to rest first. I will tell you everything when you wake up. That's a promise."

She just nodded and didn't protest when I tuck her into bed. She fell asleep instantly. Although, I am dead tired I am still fighting it. I don't want to fall asleep. I want to make sure that she's breathing. That she will never leave again.

Dr. Woods arrived a few minutes later, she wants to discuss Lydia's condition. She said that Lydia is fine and only needs a few days to rest. She said it was a miracle. There was no other explanation. But she was as thankful as I am that she did wake up. I told her that Lydia didn't recognize me, Marcus and didn't remember about the twins as well. I also told her that Lydia remembered me but she was addressing me Mr. Parker. And the way she addressed me that, were the times when she was with Annie. Or let me say, when we first met and not yet associated romantically. Dr. Woods confirmed my suspicion. Lydia didn't recognize her as well. She said that she may have a temporary amnesia. She recommended a neurologist to check Lydia further. They will schedule a test tomorrow.

... ... ... ...

*Lydia's POV*

When I opened my eyes, I saw Andy. He was hugging me so tight. He was crying senseless. Whispering those words I want to hear a long time ago. I know he loved me but he was too blinded to trust me. He was telling me he wants me back. That he's sorry and that he loved so much. I love you too darling but I need to teach you a lesson.

So that's the reason why I play dumbed. I called him Mr. Parker just like the way I first address him when I met him with Annie. And as much as I want to see my babies and tried to reach out to Dr. Woods but I just stop myself. Andy is buying it. I can't help but smile inside. It's my game you're going to play now love. I tell to myself. I just want to know if you would fight for me now or leave me behind when everything gets rough.
