17 Chapter 17

One week after the proposal, a grand engagement party was held at the mansion. A lot of important people were invited from all walks of life. All my college's friends are here too. Everyone was having a good time. The couple were inseparable. They looked so much in love. Everyone's happy for them. Andy announced that the wedding will be in three months.

The mansion is in a very festive atmosphere. The guests were delighted with the music and the warm welcome they received from the couple. Lydia was wearing a white gown that accentuated her curves. He couldn't take his eyes off her. That made him very protective of his fiancee, Lydia. Whenever he notices a male guest or her college's mate checking her out or just expressing a plain admiration, he couldn't contain the anger and jealousy. Lydia had to calm him down with her soothing and angelic voice to stop him. She had to assure him every now and then that he is her one and only man.

"I love you darling." Andy whispered while they were dancing. Juliet leaned closer to her fiance. No words can explain how happy she is right now. Finally, she will start her own family with Andy. But her regrets was that her parents were unable to attend this happy occasion, her father can never show his face here as for her mother, she was working in another country away from her father. Her mother promised to come during her wedding. But she will never be alone.

"Andy Parker, I am going to love you as long as my heart's beating. I will be there for you as long as you want me to. That is my promise honey." Lydia declared with so much sincerity. They hugged each other oblivious to everyone. The night ended and the party was a success. Thanks to Andy' trusted staff. They pulled it out even for a very short notice. Andy was so eager to end the damn party so that he can have his wife for himself. He didn't expect that he can be this jealous when it comes to Lydia. He's madly in love with her.

He guided her back to their room. Lydia smiled at him and kissed him goodnight as he needed to attend to some guests. A simple kiss that ended into a night of passion. Andy couldn't be more proud that he was her first lover. He made sweet love to her until it was morning. He is indeed the happiest man alive.

However, Andy's ex-girlfriend Diana never liked Lydia. She never planned to have it known. She's fuming inside. A good for nothing person is never gonna be his wife. She's more qualified and prettier than her. This leech is just after his wealth too. She's going to do anything just to stop the wedding and have Andy fall for her. She's now scheming to destroy Lydia. That fairy tale is short lived girl. "I can't wait to see your destruction." Diana thought to herself.

*Lydia's POV*

Three days after the engagement party, Andy flew out of the country a few days ago to close a business deal with a Brazilian investors. It would strengthen his business in Latin America. He will be back two to three days time. Although, I am missing him so much I had to endure it for a little while. He never failed to contact me every single chance he has.

Suddenly, a wave of nausea hits me again. I was not feeling well for the whole day. I couldn't eat or keep any food down. I would throw up on anything that goes into my mouth hence, making me really weak. I wanted to call Andy but I don't want to bother him. I took my smartphone and had been battling with myself whether to call or not to call him. I scanned my phone app. and found the period calendar application and then it hit me. I tapped to open it and was took by surprise. "Three week late." I couldn't believe it! How can I forget about my period? I became so nervous that I don't know what to do. Should I call him now and share the good news? Oh God, I need to confirm it first.

I was now sitting in the bathroom staring at the two red lines. It's confirmed I am indeed pregnant. I bought a handful of pregnancy test kits the other day and all are screaming positive. What a pleasant surprise! I couldn't wait to tell Andy about this. But I am going to keep it a secret for now. It's going to be one heck of a surprise. Right baby? I couldn't help but laugh. I am now talking to my little angel inside.

"Mommy's so in love with you and I couldn't wait to hold you in my arms." I promise that my baby will never be like me. 'You're going to grow up with a complete family. No matter what happened, you still have me and daddy too.' I smiled while caressing my flat stomach.

*Andy's POV*

I came back from Brazil two days ago but I haven't had the chance to see Lydia. I missed her so much. How I long to touch and kiss her passionately. I wonder how she's doing. I haven't seen her for four days now as I need to accompany the Brazilian investors to the project site. I felt so guilty that I had to leave her for a business meeting. Oh, how I love my Lydia. I never thought I would fall for her but I am glad I did. She's the best thing that ever happened to me. I could still remember those days when....

"Andy!" Diana's voice snapped me out of my reverie. "What's the matter Diana?" I turned to her and was caught off guard when I saw face. She seems to be in panic. "You need to see this!" She handed me the folder and told me to check on it. "Diana, if this is not about business I will check it out later, okay?" I don't want to ruin my day with the investors.

"No Andy, check it now or you will regret it. Diana sounded so desperate. I opened the folder and I couldn't believe what I am seeing... This must be a mistake.

I went straight to the site office and made a few phone calls. I refuse to believe it but the people I spoke to are very reliable and worked for our family for years. I regret to inform you Mr. Parker but she is the culprit. Those words kept on playing on my head. I couldn't contain my anger anymore. I felt so used and I am beyond devastated. I started breaking things. I want some release. How could this happen to me? Aaaahhhhh... I want to wring her neck.
