10 Chapter 10

*Andy's POV*

The moon was bright and the sky was filled with hundreds-no thousands of stars. All twinkling down on the earth. The air was warm, but the breeze blew in through the window was cool. I couldn't sleep meanwhile Lydia had immediately fallen asleep. It was one of her many good nights as she didn't have any nightmares, sleeping soundly like a baby. I keep moving around in bed and careful not to wake Lydia up, just this feeling of holding her in my arms, make me felt comfortable.

I was staring at Lydia's face watching her peaceful sleep. It didn't occured to me that someday, somehow I will end up loving her. She was somewhat different from my other girlfriends. She's bold and confident. She wasn't materialistic and was not into designers clothings, shoes or handbags and others. Her skin was white like a lotus, from far away it even looked fragrant. Her casual bun loosened, a few strands of hair falling around her neck, which made her exceedingly fascinating and charming. The very reason why she wanted to be my mistress was because of Annie's death. She didn't intend to cooperate at first but due to her father's crime, she reluctantly agreed with me. I was a jerk back then.

It doesn't take me long to realize that I'm losing myself in my own guilts. I couldn't keep the shame from consuming me entirely, she had been so alone and I only worked on making it worse for her. She only wanted someone by her side, yet no one could give her that, not even me, who was supposed to protect and love her but in the end caused her even more pain. I sighed when I remembered that I was her first. I know she's already losing the battle but still she gave in to me. I couldn't believe how long she had held or how strong she was to hold on for someone like me that wasn't even worth it. A tear came out of my eye as I realized how much I had let her down.

She was way too good for me and that I would work every day until I could make up for the pain that I brought onto her, even if it was impossible. I had to do something to gained her forgiveness and trust. I couldn't even think of anythings else other than her right now. "I promise that if you stay I will treat better, I won't ever bring you pain again." I whispered softly near the ear and told myself to spend more times with her in the future as I know that she has feelings for me too.

Next morning she woke up at 8.00 o'clock and got down from the bed went straight to the bathroom, after finishing off her morning chores, she ran back into the room with a towel wrapped around her body. Cool air attacked her body as she made her way to the closet. She pulled out a knee-length grey short pants and a clean white blouse and tied her hair in a big bun.

"Morning Lydia." Andy said.

"Morning." She gave him a warm smile, then sat on the side of the bed, her back was facing him and before she said anything, his arms suddenly wrapped around her waist from behind. She let out a scream and turned around saw his handsome face.

"Argh, seriously Andy?! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!" She said. He chuckled, "I love you, Lydia."

Wait.... Did he just say 'I l-o-v-e you?' "A-a-are you serious?" She asked him. He nodded. "Wow... Are you sure?" She asked him again.

"Yes, I'm very sure from the day when I first met you few years back." He said honestly. "I want to kiss you too." He lowered his head to pecked her lips lightly.

OMG! I'm not dreaming right, he finally said he loves me. Still in a daze, she quickly got up and went in to the bathroom again to check up herself. 'Did I heard wrong, Andy said he love me. Why me? Wasn't I only his mistress and part of his pawn in his game? What about his other girlfriends, they're more pretty and gorgeous than me!?' His confession of love was so sudden that it even shocked her, it just came out without any warning. Never the less, she knew that he meant what he said.

"Lydia." Andy shouted out, wondering why she took that long inside. "Wait, you should go the other bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face first." She shouted back. He heard her loud and knew she was shocked. "Babe, you took so long in there doing your business. I will go to the other room to clean myself up." Andy said.

The sunshine coming in through the window bathes the room in gold, giving the illusion that Andy was angelic. He is wearing a long sleeved black cotton shirt, and grey sweat pants. It is the first time Lydia has seen him so casual. She was used to seeing him dressed in formal suits, like he was always going to a business meeting.

He intertwined our hands together and walked down the stairs to have breakfast. The maids and servant were all shocked to see us hand in hand. One by one greeted us. On the table, there's two cups of coffee and a plate of toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. Nancy, the maid brings in the porridges over to them, as some bonus side dishes. Andy finally puts grabbing a piece of toast covers it in jam, putting it on a plate for her. Lydia doesn't know what to think as he never treats her this way before. She only stares at Andy while he drinks his coffee.

"Why don't you eat?" He said. Looking down, Lydia begins to eat the porridge.

Andy doesn't mind her silence. He finishes his breakfast and pushes something towards her. She looks up and sees a bank card with a post-it note on it.

"This is for you. You can use it to buy anything you need. The pin is written here. Remember to change it." Not giving him an answer, Lydia continues to eat.

"Mr Parker, the car is ready." Nancy announces. Andy looks at his watch. "You can tell the driver here if you need the car. I have to go to the office now."

After Andy left, Lydia sits on the balcony, resting one hand on her chin and the other holding a book recalling about the sudden changed of Andy. She quietly give a little laughs, feeling at ease knowing that her life will never be the same again. Her heart is in for a small comfort now. She had been living with Andy here for two years, recalling the memories of sad and sorrows of her past which for the first time will brings her days better.
