19 Till The Death

The next morning Daikon was packing his bag, ready to head north to train. Leaving the room, Daikon went up a floor instead of down to the main floor. He bought some food and other supplies before going over to the pokemon shop counter.

"I sold four pokemon yesterday, I'd like my money." Daikon said as he handed over his ID.

The receptionist scanned it and then asked for his bank card. "The four pokemon sold for a combined total of $25,000, it will be deposited onto your card."

Daikon was shocked, "Why so much?"

He had estimated the four pokemon would sell around $2,000 each, giving his a total of $8,000 but this was 3x the amount.

"A gentlemen came and bought them all at once with that bid." the receptionist answered.

"Weird…" Daikon muttered, "How much did the Vulpix sell for?"

"$10,000." the receptionist answered.

"What the hell!" Daikon cursed. Though it was a rare Alolan form, the price shouldn't have reached over $5,000. "I'm guessing the same guy bought it?"

Nodding their head, Daikon let out a sigh. 'People with money really have it easy.'

Shaking his head, Daikon left the floor and headed downstairs, but when he was passing his room he saw someone he recognized. Knocking on his door was the mother of the little girl he gave the tickets to yesterday.

"Can I help you?" Daikon asked as he walked up to her with a smile.

Seeing Daikon the lady broke down and jumped into his arms, "Please save her!" she cried, sobbing into Daikon's chest as his shirt became wet.

Stunned, Daikon asked, "What's happened? Save who?"

The woman wasn't able to speak clearly so Daikon took her into her room and gave her a glass of water. After awhile she was able to calm down.

"They took my daughter…" she said quietly.

"Who did?" Daikon asked.

She looked at him, her eyes red and puffy, "The police."

It all came together for Daikon. 'The fucking bastards.' he cursed in his heart.

They resorted to kidnapping innocent people he barely knew because their assassination attempt failed yesterday.

'Why go so far though?' he wondered. It didn't make sense for them to go this far for a simple fight.

Anger boiled up from Daikon's gut, ready to explode. He grabbed the women's hand and said, "Tell me what they said."

Nodding her head obediently she started talking. "You are suppose to go to an abandoned warehouse on the southside of the city, alone or they will kill my daughter." Choking up on the last couple of words she started crying again.

Daikon grabbed her hands and gave a slight squeeze, making her look at him. "Listen to me. Your daughter will be fine, I promise. This is what you are going to do. I will leave and meet them at the warehouse, 30 minutes after I leave you run to the pokemon gym and tell Misty what happened, okay?" he explained. He didn't want her going there as soon as he left in case they were watching them.

She nodded her head understanding.

"I will bring your daughter back unharmed, I promise." he looked her in the eye, showing his resolve.

"Thank you." she whispered.

Daikon soon left the pokemon center and headed south, looking for the warehouse. He soon saw it and headed towards it. Opening the door, he entered a large dimly lit room.

"Well well well, you were quicker than I thought." a light cocky voice rang out.

Two men stepped out from the shadows, he knew one of them while the other was a new face.

"You must be Jared I take it?" Daikon said calmly as he looked over the man. The man was average height with straight red hair and a face covered in freckles. He couldn't have looked more different than his giant brother Doug.

"Yes and you must be Daikon." Jared said with a vicious smile.

"Let the girl go." Daikon's voice became colder as killing intent rolled off his body.

Doug took a step back when he felt the killing intent, a trace of fear was on his face. Jared didn't step back but he frowned and looked a Daikon.

"Such strong killing intent, no wonder you were able to kill Shane and Trevor yesterday." Jared said.

"I won't ask again." Daikon said coldly.

Jared made a motion with his fingers.

A bipedal Pokémon with a wide, dull brown body and a large pair of gray, spiky pincers on top of its head emerged from the shadows. In its mouth were many long, flat teeth arranged horizontally. Its legs were short and thick while its arms are long and thin, and each limb ends with three gray claws.

"You heard him Pinsir, let her go." Jared smiled coldly at Daikon.

Pinsir released the girl and she started running towards Daikon. "Big brother!" she cried.

'This is too easy.' Daikon thought. He suddenly saw a flashed and screamed "No!"

He sprinted forward trying to block the slash but was too slow. Blood squirted from the girls back as she slowly fell to the ground. Daikon held her in his arms as she muttered, "Big brother…"

"You listen to me, you are going to be okay. Keep your eyes open, big brother is here, okay? Look at me! Don't fall asleep!" Daikon pleaded as the tiny girl's eyes slowly shut.

Tears started to form in Daikon's eyes as he held the little girl. He placed his forehead against hers and whispered, "I'm sorry."

He looked up and saw a Scyther standing there with blood on his scythes.

*SNAP!*

Something inside Daikon broke, all the emotions he was feeling; grief, sadness, and sorrow all vanished and were replaced by white hot rage.

Feeling the change in his trainers mentality through the blood bond, Dratini left the pokeball and appeared next to Daikon. Influenced by his trainers thoughts and seeing a bloody child, Dratini copied his master's rage.

Dratini quickly tapped Daikon's belt, releasing Espeon and Quilava.

"Espeon keep her alive the best you can. Quilava and Dratini… kill them all." Daikon voice alone made the temperature in the room.

Quilava let out a loud cry before sending a Flamethrower at the Scyther, clearly enraged at what he saw while Dratini attacked the Pinsir.

Daikon took out his sword and slowly made his way towards Doug and Jared.

"Go at him with everything you got." Jared told Doug as he armed himself with two long daggers, a thin layer aura covered them. Doug took out a gauntlet with three short spikes on the knuckles.

Not underestimating Daikon, Jared charged straight at him while Doug flanked.

Daikon was rotating his dragon energy throughout his body, the ten cycles rotated a record speed. A thin veil of black energy covered is body.

Jared slashed at him with his daggers at a very fast speed. Daikon parried the first one only to find another one headed for his throat. Moving his head, he barely avoided the fatal attack as the dagger cut open part of his neck.

Jared jumped back in retreat and frowned, 'That should have decapitated him. That weird black aura must have powerful defensive properties.'

Jared attacked again, slashing with his daggers. Each one of his attacks left cuts all over Daikon's body, causing him to lose lots of blood. Doug also landed a punch on Daikon's side, causing some of his ribs to break. They were not able to get in a fatal shot and Daikon kept fighting no matter what injuries he accumulated.

Frustrated, Doug let out a yell and threw a punch towards Daikon's head. Tilting his head to the side to avoid it, Daikon stabbed his sword upward and under Doug's jaw.

The sword pierced his head, Daikon watched as the life faded from his eyes.

"Doug!" Jared screamed, stabbing Daikon in the shoulder and shoving him away from his brother.

Daikon stumbled backwards and fell, exhausted. He looked and saw Quilava was covered in blood but continued to fight Scyther till the death. Dratini was fairing better but still had wounds on his body. Espeon was using her psychic powers and sealing off the wound to prevent further blood loss but even her powers were starting to run out.

'Thank you… everyone.' Daikon smiled as he fell back unconscious.

Jared held his brother, crying. He looked over at Daikon who was now unconscious with rage in his eyes, his dagger still stuck in Daikon's shoulder.

Gently laying his brother down, he started to walk over to Daikon with his remaining dagger but the door suddenly blew open. Misty and her sisters ran into the building and were horrified on what they saw.

Jared sprinted towards Daikon in desperation, wanting to kill him but was interrupted by a shadow that blocked his attack and disappeared as quick as it appeared.

Misty was able to release her Starmie and restrain Jared.

"Call the ambulances immediately!" Misty yelled as she started performing first aid on the little girl, Espeon had passed out from over using her powers.
