Lancelot

Seeing her almost naked for the third time makes my throat goes dry. She's talking to a cat and it was very alluring when she does that. I waited there but she didn't come out. Gibson stopped in front of me and cock his head. We went to the male's dormitory and Davin was there as well.

"How do you woo a woman here?" Gibson started laughing. I look at Davin who was laughing as well.

"Please do tell, why you couldn't get her heart and attention?" Gibson started.

"Well," I shrugged. "I try to do almost everything that I could in short moment. She's a very peculiar woman and I wonder what I did wrong to make her disappointed." The door opens and a winged man enter sideways.

He's somehow familiar to me. I wonder where I seen him last. He sat down on the bed which makes Gibson bounced because of his weight and bulky size.

"When did you get bulkier?" Gibson suddenly asked.

"Sorry." Clarence muttered. "So what is this all about?"

"Since you are here, our love expert, Lancelot here wanted to know how to woo a woman in this world?" Davin told him.

"Well, why won't you do the way you usually court a woman?"

"That's the main problem. I don't really court a woman. But of course I had experience on kissing and making love. Courting a woman wasn't my specialty."

"We actually saw both of you kissing." Clarence told and he pulls out the flat thing called cellphone and face the screen on me. I look at it as I saw two people's silhouette on the rain, with their arms wrapped at each other and kissing. "Guinevere told me that she wanted a proof of it."

"That's very not good. When do we get on that screen?" Clarence explained to me that it is called camera to capture things, photos for memories and even record a memory. That is something very magical to me. However it is called high-technology on them and we don't have that on the Insideworld.

"So, first of all. I am sure that Althea is attracted on you as well."

"But after that kiss, she told me something that really breaks my heart." I couldn't hold it. I saw her crying I swear it to Gods, though it is raining hard.

"And what is that?"

"She told me exactly that she's not the woman for me." I said it with a big pain on my heart.

"Oh, God!" Davin exclaims.

"I'm here." Gibson said. Alright, he's a God. "So, it's not really your problem. She's the one who has a problem."

'You have to find it out yourself by opening up to her. Make her tell you what's wrong. You love her, the first time you saw her and she surely feel the same. There is something that's stopping her, maybe her past or whatnot." I nodded on what Clarence said. She surely has a past. A dark past that makes her afraid of darkness and sleeping on bed.

It's like a puzzle and it started getting into my mind. Something really bad happened to her. I know that she's probably pushing me because she wanted me to have a better life in future. She's not thinking of herself she's not thinking of us. She was a gift to me. I was a gift to her.

"And how do you court women here?"

"Almost the same in insideworld. But insideworld was more of old fashion, here, if they like each other they could date and do whatnot. It's kind of liberated here. My parents told me the old fashion of courtship, which first, you have to visit her on their house, bring her flowers, and other things that she likes." Lots of things get inside my mind.

"A hundred of army and day lilies… that will do." I nodded at him.

"Why won't you oath yourself as her warrior?"

"How do you exactly know about oaths?" I crease my brow with suspects. "You are familiar to me and we probably met before."

"I'm your General's bastard." That just makes me snapped my fingers as I recall him.

"Oh, that's why. I wonder where you go off back then. I've been asking your father."

"You ask my father?"

"Yup. He only told me that he won't bother us again. Really odd thing. You are not a bother, sorry to say that." He only shrugged. "How did you end up here?"

"Are we going to talk about my past or are we going to talk about your plan for courtship."

"Oh, yes."

"Do you know how to sing?"

"A little bit."

"I just know a song for her. Why won't you practice a song that I will give to you and you could even ask for a band?" there are lots of ideas coming to me now.

I went to Guinevere's room and knock. I open the door and found Guinevere sitting on her bed, she's probably waiting for me and she cock her head to Althea who is sleeping on the sofa as the white furry cat is beside her purring.

"I try to offer the bed but she decline it." She mutter and took her robe. "I'm going to Clarence's room, you can stay here."

"Guinevere, when are you going back to our house?"

"Soon, brother. When everything here are clear." I kiss her forehead. "Good night."

I took the blanket and put it on her carefully not to wake her up. I keep the lights and I roam around her room. Lots of things are modern, that they called. I sat down on the bed and feel it. It was comfortable yet she's sleeping on a couch. She will wake up with stiff neck or few muscles.

I sleep a little, yet I couldn't sleep on what happened and on what she's hiding. I woke up when she woke up. I open my eyes and smiled at her.

"Why are you sleeping on the chair?" she ask.

"I would like to ask the same thing. Why are you sleeping on the sofa?" she look around and stood.

"None of your business."

"I don't understand what you mean last night." I need to open up to her. "I don't understand why you could say such thing. But still I won't quit. I will still court you and if it takes years, or a decade, I won't stop courting you and loving you."

"Lancelot. You don't understand. You have to live your life than do that thing on your head. You could ask for another mate, it is easier that way."

"It's easier for you to say that. How could I ask for another mate when I am already destined for you? How could you say that it is easier that way?" I stood and grabbed her arm. "I can't love any other. I can't let you do this to me. So if you keep denying it all, if you keep pushing me away, I will keep insisting just to get you. Last night, the kiss was the most amazing moment I ever had." I scoop her cheek and it felt so warm. "You are the only I wanted."

"Please stop." She shudder.

"No."

"Please don't do this." Her eyes started letting go those tears that instantly breaks my heart. I wipe it. "Just let me go."

"Althea."

"Lancelot," she pushed me. "Why don't you understand it?! I don't like you!" she wipe her tears as she walk to the bathroom. I stood there waiting for her, until the cat purrs and yawns in front of me. I sigh and sat down on the chair. She got out already dressed up. She put her boots on and took her bow and arrows.

"Where are you going?"

"Lead the way Katherine." She mutter and the cat jump down and hissed at me. I frown as they leave the room. I exhales and took my things and followed her.

"Lord Lancelot!" just when girls comes to me and greet me. I nodded my head and instead of using the long stairs, I jump off just to catch her up.

"Althea!" I call out but she ignore me. "You'll regret this moment." I said aloud. "I'll keep bugging you!"

"Sod off!" she scowl and lifted her bow and arrow pointing it to me. I still walk toward her.

"Would you kill me?"

"Step back." she warned. I still walk toward her and stop one step away. I hold her hand that is holding the bow and pointed the arrow directly to my heart.

"The God of love already strike your arrow here."

"Aren't you tired?" her voice full of loneliness.

"No. If it meant having you in my arms until death."

"You are such a dumbass."

"I know."
