167 Mai Yuerui's pas

The soft rays of the morning sunlight entered the hotel suite through the window and tingled Yuerui's eyes. Mai Yuerui finally woke up from her sleep and she found herself with a bag of saline on her. She sat up and put on her glasses. She looked around the luxurious hotel room for some moment. As she was busy scrutinizing her surrounding, Kong Xianwang entered the room and found her awake.

He ran towards her with large strides and hugged her tightly making her unprepared.

"Are you alright?" He asked with concern.

"Umm.. yes." She replied.

"Why are you always so careless? How did you fall on the water?"

"Umm... My leg slipped on the wet soil." She was too embarrassed to say that her swing stripped while she was swinging.

Xianwang released her from his embrace and looked at her with warm eyes as his hands gently caressed her cheeks.

He didn't say anything. He just kept looking at her intently.

"Umm... Mr. Kong" Yuerui asked.

"Hmm..."

"I am sorry."

"For what?" Xianwang frowned.

"For everything."

"It's okay." He didn't say anything else. He just immediately accepted her apology. But Yuerui thought he was not serious.

"No. I am really sorry. I am sorry for making everyone worried. Especially you. And also..." She paused for a moment.

"And?"

"And also for this." She touched her glasses.

Xianwang gently held both Yuerui's hands and patted lightly.

"You must have your reason. Besides, it's been only a few days since we started dating. We still have a lot of time to get to know each other." Xianwang's warm words touched Yuerui's heart. It was like a warm spring breeze that blew on her icy cold heart.

She cannot help feeling thankful to him.

"Have you really forgiven me?"

"Yes." He replied with a smile.

"Really, right?"

"Yes, yes my lady."

"Hahaha... " Yuerui couldn't but laughed.

Knock... Knock...

There was a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" Yuerui asked.

"It must be room service. You didn't have your dinner yesterday. So I ordered food for you."

"I am hungry actually." Yuerui chuckled.

Seeing the cheerful face of Yuerui, Xianwang couldn't help patting her head which made Yuerui a little shy.

Before Xianwang could say something, his phone rang.

"Umm... I got some business to do. You have your breakfast I will return before lunch." Saying that he patted Yuerui's cheek and left the suite.

Yuerui subconsciously touched her cheek that had his warmth.

Xianwang came to the nearby coffee shop and entered without any hesitation. After scrutinizing the whole coffee shop his eyes stopped at one corner of the shop and he approached the person sitting on that table.

"You are punctual with your time, I see. Ms. .... Ning." Said Xianwang.

"Just trying to not waste any second of yours." Ning Tan replied indifferently.

Xianwang sat on the opposite side and ordered one Americano for him.

"So Mr. Kong, may I know why you called me?" Ning Tan asked.

"You didn't seem surprised when I called you last night." Xianwang wondered.

"I was actually expecting that you would call me. But I didn't think that it would be this fast."

"Then you already know why you are here."

"You want to know about Mai Yuerui and Han Yefang."

Xianwang didn't say anything but gave out a smirk in reply.

"And why should I spill about my friend to you, who I barely know?" Ning Tan replied.

"I know that we barely know each other. And I absolutely have no right to ask about my girlfriend to other people behind her back."

"Precisely." Ning Tan nodded.

Xianwang continued, "But since some guy is kept interfering in our relationship, I cannot help wanting to know about this person's relationship with my girlfriend. And you also know how your friend is. I think she is not ready to share this with me yet. I would appreciate it if you tell me what is their relationship so that I can protect her from harmful people."

"Han Yefang really got under your skin, huh!" Ning Tan smirked.

"You can put it that way if you want." he replied indifferently.

Ning Tan took a sip from her latte and replied bluntly, "Han Yefang is Yuerui's ex."

After hearing it Xianwang subconsciously tightened his grip on his glass.

He took a few seconds of silence and replied, "You think I didn't figure that out yet?"

"Then what else you wanna know?" Ning Tan asked.

"I wanna know what happened between them?"

"Why? You wanna patch them up?" She leered at him with angry eyes.

"No, to help her get over him." He replied with a straight face.

Ning Tan almost spilled her latte from her mouth.

Seeing Ning Tan speechless, Xianwang continued, "I may be new to this kind of relationship. But I can tell if any relationship is being toxic to one person. And I want to help her get through this."

"But what if she cannot get over. Instead, she wants to go back?" Ning Tan asked.

Xianwang's hands quivered a little.

"I just know that I have my full sincerity to help her. But the final decision is hers. I only want her to be happy. Nothing more."

Ning Tan kept silent for a few seconds.

'Mai Yuerui. This guy has sincerity for you. I can see it in his eyes.' Ning Tan felt relieved for her friend.

Ning Tan took a sip and said calmly, "If you can help my friend to get over her stressful past, then I don't have any problem to share her past with you, Mr Kong."

"So here it goes." and she continued the story of Mai Yuerui and Han Yefang.

Cling.... Cling.....

Cling.... Cling....

"Hmm... It's morning already! Ahh... I wish I could sleep some more..." Mai Yuerui murmured in sleep under her soft and new blanket.

She turned off her alarm and get off her bed reluctantly.

"Let's see... It's 7 in the morning. And the class is at 8... Huh! Still got enough time."

Today is Mai Yuerui's first day at University. She had worked hard a lot to get into this University and finally today is her first day.

It's only been a couple of days since she moved from her father's mansion to live separately.

So there is still a lot to do with her new apartment. Even though her parents allowed her to stay separately, but they ordered her to stay in the apartment which they will buy for her.

She took the house that is closer to her University. But it still takes at least 30 minutes to reach her University.

Before she used to go to her school in her car and it was not far from her house so she only had to get off from her house about 10 minutes before her class. And this habit of hers made her late for the first lecture of her University life.

She thought like any other first-class the first lecture will be about introducing with each other which she is actually not interested in. So she leisurely dragged herself out of her apartment and reached her department on foot.

But Oh my dear! She didn't know her predictions will be wrong. Not only she reached 30 minutes late but also saw a huge crowd of students and the teacher had already started briefing about their course.

'Oh boy! What a great start!' she wondered.

Mai Yuerui had studied in an all-girls school. So, of course, she was looking forward to her first day at University cause now there will be boys studying with her. She also wondered if she would feel awkward if a guy sits next to her. But mostly she felt excited.

The girl who spent her entire student life with the same friend circle was now thrown into a pit with new and unknown people. She was excited initially but as we all know how introverted people go. Her introvert nature restrained her from approaching people. In the middle of the crowd, her innocent eyes wondered if they will find a person who will rescue her from this anxiety.

And fortunately, God was not that harsh on her. And help came in the face of Ning Tan.

"Mai Yuerui? Is that you?" Ning Tan shouted with excitement.

After the class, Yuerui was sitting obediently and watching the people around her. Suddenly she heard this familiar sound and found a familiar person, Ning Tan.

She looked at her and gave her a smile.

'I heard from my friends that you got admitted to this University. But I didn't know it was the same department.' Yuerui thought.

Ning Tan came close to Yuerui and said, "What are you doing here?" She asked.

"To study!" Yuerui bluntly replied.

"Oh yes, of course, to study. But I didn't hear that you were in the same department like mine." Ning Tan said. She was really excited to find her former classmate here.

'Girl, I am not that famous that everyone will know about me.' Yuerui thought.

"Haha... I also didn't know that you were here." Yuerui replied politely.

"Okay skip the formalities. Have you talked with anyone? If not, then let me introduce you to some people." And Ning Tan dragged Yuerui with her and introduced her to other people. And thus their new friendship started.

Yuerui was so grateful to God that she found Ning Tan here. Without her, she didn't know how she would pass her University life.

Mai Yuerui's University life passed with ease with the help of her two friends Ning Tan and Yang Zi.

Yang Zi is a bright girl with a skeptical mind. The first time Yuerui saw her she knew that she is not like those bubbly girls. The very first day Yang Zi interacted with every single person in the class. Not only that she was even able to leave a good impression on the teachers.

Yang Zi has a strong belief in her own thoughts and always ready to raise her voice against injustice.

While interacting with new people Yuerui and her friends came across the beauty of their class, Shu Ren. On the very first day of their class, she was announced as the most beautiful girl in their class. And why wouldn't she? Unlike Mai Yuerui who came in her plain tops and jeans, Shu Ren dresses gorgeously and made herself stand out.

"Hello, my name is Shu Ren." Shu Ren introduced herself with a sweet smile.

"Hi. I am Yang Zi and this is Ning Tan and Mai Yuerui." Yang Zi said.

"Hello." Ning Tan said.

But like all other times, Mai Yuerui didn't say anything but smile.

'She is really pretty.' Yuerui admired Shu Ren inwardly.

"So, are you in the dorms, or do you live nearby?" Yang Zi asked Shu Ren.

"No. I live nearby." Shu Ren said.

"O... I and Yang Zi have applied for the dorms. And Yuerui...." Ning Tan said.

"Oh... I rented an apartment." Yuerui finally said something.

"Oh, it must be really great to live separately. I also wanted to apply for dorms and enjoy my dorm life. But my parents worry about me a lot. So they didn't let me apply. Instead, they bought me a new car and even hired a new chauffeur so that I won't be upset." Shu Ren said pitifully.

'Ahh... So you are those daddy's princess type?' Yuerui thought.

"Aww .. your parents are really caring." But she had to reply otherwise.

As soon as Shu Ren left them the three friends burst into laughter.

"What a Daddy's princess!" Yang Zi said.

"Yeah, and she says as if just because we live in dorms, it means that our parents must have left us in the name of God. And washed their hands off us. Such a Daddy's princess " Ning Tan said.

"What a girl. Not only that she brags about her rich daddy but also all the boys in our class are head over heels for her." Ning Tan added.

"Yeah... But do you know that she had already broken their hearts?" Yang Zi said

"Really? How?" Curious Yuerui asked.

"She is already dating one of our seniors. He is in the third year and his name is Bo Hai " Yang Zi informed

"You really know a lot of information, Yang Zi." Yuerui complimented

"Yeah. Gathering information is my specialty you know." Yang Zi blew her small hair.

"But in my opinion, she is not that pretty at all. My Mai Yuerui has such killer eyes that can strike people's hearts in one strike." Ning tan said.

"Yeah, but what's the use of that if she doesn't talk with them. To make them fall for her they at least had to see her properly." Yang Zi added.

Yuerui didn't say anything. She just listened to them with a blush on her cheek.

"Oh .. Yuerui, you know about the fresher's party tonight, right?" Ning Tan asked.

"What party?" Yuerui asked.

"Oh, you silly head. You are still the same." Ning Tan poked Yuerui's head.

"It's an orientation program organized by our senior to welcome us." Yang Zi explained.

"O...."

"So you better come well dressed and don't be late. It's at 6 pm." Ning Tan said.

"Where is the party?" Yuerui asked

"It's at our cafeteria. They rented the cafeteria for this."
