86 Day One

Yu Yang explained the rules of the competition to the disciples, and then he started the match.

There were 185 disciples, and Jian had decided to divide them into four different areas for the competition.

So g.he had told Yu Yang to be the primary Judge of the competition while the team of five which went to the city with him will be the referee of the other four areas.

So it leads to a total of 180 disciples for the competition. After choosing their ballots, they will be divided into four groups A, B, C and D.

So each group will consist of forty-five disciples, and then they will fight in their designated arena to choose the top twenty from each group for the main competition.

Jian saw that they had started to arrange the disciples according to their groups.

After half hour, everyone was gathered. And then the competition had started.

In each arena, the fights were started simultaneously. Jian was checking each hall very carefully.

He was in search to see the level of their basics martial arts. He wanted to know how deep their understanding of their essential martial art was.

He was looking very carefully. The disciples were using wooden weapons to fight so that the fighting would cause no fatal injuries.

The competition didn't continue for a long time. It was over when the day ended, and on the first day of the competition, even half of the matches were not completed.

Jian knew that the competition would continue for days. So he didn't have any problems with the number of fights.

Jian was sitting in the Sect Hall. Ling'er and Ye Qiao was also there. Ling'er was using the wooden sword she took from Yu Yang and was practising as she saw in the competition.

Jian was thinking about how the fights were concluded and were deep thoughts. He would recall the fights and frown. He was continuously doing it.

The day went without any problems. There were no injuries in the fights. It is to say that it went too smoothly, which led Jian to recall and think about the war continuously.

Ye Qiao saw that Jian was still frowning in the sect hall. She was with him watching the competition the whole day, and she saw that Jian was frowning throughout the fights.

Ye Qiao moved towards Jian. He was in such deep thoughts that he didn't feel Ye Qiao move towards him.

Ye Qiao saw that Jian's attention was not there" Jian, what are you thinking.."

She had started to call him Jian at his request. When Jian heard someone call his name, he immediately looked up and saw Ye Qiao. " What?"

" What are you thinking about? Are there any problem?" Ye Qiao realised that his attention was not there when he asked her, so she asked again.

" Nothing, I was thinking about the fights." Jian shook his head and sighed.

" Why is there was the problem? Didn't everything go without any hitch?"

" No, the fights were fine, but they were too fine" Jian stopped midway while speaking.

" what do you mean?"

Jian sighed and stood up and started to walk back and forth " What I mean is that the fights went too smoothly. There were no injuries, nothing new was there everything went according to the plan, which caused me to think about it."

Ye Qiao immediately understood why he was concerned. She nodded, indicating that she also understood why he was worried.

Because anyone would be concerned, more than forty people fought b, ut there were no injuries and incidents. No one would believe in such fantasy.

Ye Qiao also thought for a while, " So what are your concerns?"

Jian didn't reply immediately. He stopped on the spot and thought about it. " I can't put it in words, but there was something wrong with the fights."

Ye Qiao thought for a while, " I know what are you talking about."

Jian didn't expect Ye Qiao to understand what he was talking about. He couldn't help but want to listen to what were her thoughts.

Ye Qiao saw that Jian was waiting for her to explain what she was thinking " It was the intent which was lacking from the fight."

As Ye Qiao finished speaking, Jian's brain started to work like a computer. He then began to recall the fights, and as he recalled, he would get the same conclusion as Ye Qiao.

He had finally realised what was wrong with the fights. He was finally able to relax, but it was not for a long time. He immediately started to think about how to correct it.

The problem with the fights was that they had no intent to fight with each other. They were fighting to get good rankings.

They had no intent to take the life of the opponents. They were not ferocious enough. They were lacking the main thing, which was very important for a cultivator.

Jian had already decided to change how the sects work but still, he couldn't help but think about it.

Jian knew that the reform of the sect would help solve this problem, but when he thought about it, he realised that it was his mistake that he made disciples rely on the sect instead of themselves.

Even though they can rely on the sect, but they should at least think about how can they improve themselves.

Because self-improvement is more valuable than with the help of support.

Jian thought that now he had helped them realise this; otherwise, when they leave the sect for mission or other things, they will not survive.

He was providing them with everything without them doing anything, which had led them astray. They were cultivated in a very sage environment which had led to this problem.

Thinking about it for a while, Jian then started to prepare for the next day of the competition. He had to think about solving the new problems and confirm that the fights were similar to the first day. If it is, it is not worth it for them to hold the competition which requires them to fight.
