329 THE REAL PROPHESIED QUEEN

She must have thought that her mother was serious in annihilating the royal family that Lady Thana stood up from the throne.

"Or we could have peace and a stronger alliance by uniting our family together. Raigon could leave Lady Asha and marry me. Just like what we originally intended."

She gave a side glance at Zoe as if telling her that everything would have worked well if she didn't enter the scene.

"Now that we have seen your family's true color, I would never connect my family with you again. I would not compromise our values just for your so-called peace!"

King Artair bellowed as he responded to her suggestion.

Zoe gulped as that idea also crossed her mind just to save the Wang family. They were outnumbered and are on the losing end now. She glanced at Raigon who was clenching his fist as he inhaled and exhaled forcefully a lungful of air.

"My daughter has given you mercy. Still, you insisted on your stubbornness. This attitude of yours is the reason why you're in this situation. I had enough. Prepare to die!"

She lifted her hand and was about to command her guards to kill them when Zoe knelt down. "Just kill me, your Majesty. Please leave the royal family alive."

"Zoe! What are you doing?" Raigon bolted to her side and tried to lift her up. But she even pressed her forehead down on the ground.

"You would gain the Terrans' trust if you bestow mercy upon the royal family. If you wanted to vent your anger, just pour it out on me. I am a descendant of the Three too."

To Zoe's surprise, Raigon also knelt to his feet as he spoke. "If you will kill her, do it to me as well. I don't see the sense of living without her. Just spare my family."

Zoe's eyes widened as she tilted her head to see him kneeling down beside her. A pool of tears welled up in her eyes as she thought about him dying.

Raigon also glanced at her and made a bittersweet smile as he grabbed hold of her hand while they were still in a kneeling position.

"I told you I will follow you wherever the universe will take you. And I intend on keeping that promise."

He spoke to her with the most adoring voice she has heard. Or is it because it would be the last words she would hear before she breathed her last breath.

"What a tragic love story from start to its end. I wonder what keeps you glued when you know that your relationship will bring each of you your own destruction."

Queen Wiktoria reacted in a disgusted tone, making Zoe lift her head up and confront her.

"It is love, your Majesty. And I would never trade every single day that we spent time with each other even if this will be its end."

She glanced at King Artair and Queen Rose whose faces were stricken by their actions. Zoe bowed down to them in gratitude.

"Your Majesties, thank you for bringing him into this world and raising him to be the man that he is now."

Then she faced Raigon who is now looking directly at her but his knees were still on the ground.

"Thank you for letting me understand myself and my past. My only regret is I should have come here sooner and spent more time with you."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she went near Queen Wiktoria's feet and bowed her head for her last words. "I am ready."

She closed her eyes and resolved to herself that she will lay down her life for the sake of everybody's.

"Very well then, if you are so eager to meet your parents, who am I to intervene?"

Queen Wiktoria grabbed a sword from the nearest guard and was about to put it in Zoe's head. Raigon plunged to the scene and grabbed the sword from her hand. A guard near them was about to strike Raigon but Azra quickly appeared in the scene and killed that man.

"Azra!" Raigon uttered in a voice of gratitude as both of them were saved because of his intervention.

"I apologize for being late, your Highness. We encounter an attack at a small village on the way here. We were able to save a few."

At a fraction of a second, the Hous clan showed up including Lord Hou.

"You don't need to regret anymore, your Highness. Because you will definitely spend a good old age with the Crowned Prince and the legitimate next in line to the throne."

Lord Hou exclaimed as he went beside the King. It seemed that they were in time to hear Zoe's last words, which made Zoe breathe out a sigh of relief.

Rose, Princess Ara and Princess Taia were being protected by the other members of the Hou Clan.

"Hous… You think you are all righteous by standing beside the Wangs. You could have the throne by yourself. But you are content with just being the servant. I had enough of you all. Guards!"

Queen Wiktoria reacted as Raigon pulled Zoe out of the scene and brought her to a corner.

Zoe watched in horror as the Hous fought with the enemies' side. Since they are naturally warriors and defenders of Terra, they excellently halted the mass murder of the Queen's guards.

However, Zoe couldn't help but recall the prophecy as she watched the pool of blood and pile of dead bodies on the floor. She remembers her treating the Terrans in a good manner then, providing them with aids and financial support during the outbreak.

But now she is destroying the people whom she has served. She is also the reason why the Tree of Egdelwon is dying now.

'Is Queen Wiktoria the prophesied queen? Is she the true blooded half-ling who gave Terra its blessing and its curse? Does that mean that I am not the prophesied queen?'
