316 THE CHAIRMAN VERSUS THE FORMER CHAIRMAN'S DAUGHTER

"What do you think, Uncle? Can we really talk about it? Are you willing to change the current style of management and align it according to Former Chairman William Cheng's vision for this hospital?"

Zoe asked sincerely to Uncle Bo, in the hearing of everyone in the room. As they heard her, all eyes glanced on the piece of board that was mounted up high on the wall behind the table. 

"To ensure accessible and affordable quality healthcare by compassionate medical professionals to all."

Some of them gulped while others lowered their heads as they glanced at one another as the issue about the current management rose up again wherein the directors have opposing views.

Zoe couldn't help but smile as she hit on the right target. But then Koby interfered and defended his cause.

Zoe's eyebrows furrowed as she narrowed her eyes on him, wondering how he could defend his point of view when it is completely the opposite of her father's.

"How can we fulfill that when we are running out of funds? If we do not do something about it, our institution will close in a matter of time. And that vision will last only for a certain year. It is not even employee-friendly if I may add."

The directors seemed to get his point as they started discussing to one another about their opinion on what he just said to his delight.

However, Zoe will not back out in a fight. "And your solution is obstructing human rights to medical care and displacing employees?" 

The directors who are aware of this matter and are on the brink of rallying against rose up and made remarks that agreed with her.

Zoe smirked as she witnessed her uncle and Koby's change of appearance from being sarcastic to hostility and embarrassment.

Her feet stepped forward as she added. "I would also like to add that my father, Former Chairman William Cheng, did not sell his share of stocks to Mr. Zhiang as you all know that the case is currently on its way to the court. Mr. Bo Zhiang has falsified his signature that he can get 'my father's company, the hospital that he has worked hard all his life, as you all see his dedication then."

She used his uncle's full name as she was already cutting off her ties with him. 

The faces of the directors went sympathetic as they now recalled Mr. Cheng's efforts in maintaining the integrity of the hospital and at the same time his compassion in treating the patients without prejudice.

Zoe's head nod as she stared at everyone present and lifted her chin.

"Sooner or later, Mr. Bo Zhiang will be proven guilty. His stocks will return to its previous owner and be his heir, to me. If you want to choose whose side you will be, better do it now. Because I, Zoe Cheng, will not tolerate people who will go against my father's set values and morality which he raised me up to have."

The people present were aghast at Zoe's astounding words. Her inexperience and age flew outside the window as they gazed at her as she roared like a lion that is taking back her place as the queen of the jungle. 

Even Bo and Koby underestimated her as they saw her succumb under pressure of her emotions just recently. As to add to their sudden intimidation at her.

"Those who want to remove Mr. Bo and Koby Zhiang from their position effective today, please raise your hand."

"Niece!" Bo exclaimed in bafflement, making Zoe's lips curved up in a sarcastic smile.

"Thank you for adopting my mother and me when we were both helpless. Even though you were the reason why she died. And perhaps other innocent people with her? I will just let it pass. But I think it will be awkward for both of us to continue living in a lie, don't you think so, Mr. Zhiang?"

"Enough, Zoe!" Koby tried to stop her as he assisted Bo whose knees crumbled as he fell on a nearby chair. 

His eyes stared at her, shocked as he didn't expect that Zoe will ever mention it. He knows that she knew that Terra is a hidden land which must not be known by the outside world. And it must have given him the audacity to keep his act of genocide hidden for a long time.

'He must have thought that I was still the naive and innocent girl back then.' 

Zoe narrowed her eyes at him as she now recalled the little times that he has shown his personality since then but she had blindly pushed at her subconscious mind as she chose to believe that he was her kind uncle who saved her when she became an orphan.

Regarding Terra, she knew that she cannot give justice to the people that he murdered then. But a defamation of character even though it's just a gossip is enough to kill someone's reputation. And a good reputation is one of the greatest assets one could have in this side of the world. 

She smirked as her eye caught on one of the director's taking a video of what was happening at that moment. She wouldn't be surprised if the whole building will know about his evil misdeeds in less than a minute.

One of the directors lifted her hand up. "I vote for Ms. Cheng as the chairwoman of Cheng Hospital."

"I agree." One also imitated her and another until all of them were raising their hands and then clapping as it resulted in a unanimous decision.

Zoe's heart fluttered at the unity of her father's former director who is now choosing her to lead them. However, Bo will still not give in.

"After all that I've done for you, this is what you pay me! This hospital will be ruined! That woman doesn't even know anything about this hospital. I am still the better candidate!" Bo lashed out at them.
