309 TALKING WITH THE LAWYER

The next day, Zoe proceeded on her plan. She met up with Nella's cousin lawyer who gave her the number of another lawyer who specializes on land rights.

"Just wait, Mama and Papa. I will restore your vision for Cheng Hospital."

She uttered under her breath as she waited for the next lawyer whom she needed to talk to. As she was waiting, a familiar face greeted her and said hi.

"Zoe? It's really you!" His shocked face quickly brightened as he realized that he was not seeing a ghost but a human with flesh and bones.

"Enzo.." Zoe chuckled as she invited him to sit down. "I'm actually waiting for someone. But it's good to see you again. How have you been?"

"I'm good. Are you waiting for an excellent lawyer who could help with your parent's company?"

''Zoe's jaw dropped as he detailed out her heart's goal. "How did you know about that?"

"I believe that excellent lawyer is me." His eyes twinkled as he leaned forward, disarming Zoe's composed appearance.

"Y-you're the lawyer?" Zoe scrambled to get the card that Nella's cousin gave her.

"Atty. Lorenzo Wong?" She read out his name out loud. "Why didn't I think of that?"

Zoe gave her an apologetic smile after slightly smacking her forehead with her palm.

"It's okay. I know you wouldn't think of me as being a lawyer anyway." Enzo said to pacify Zoe's guilt feelings.

"Yeah, I don't. I thought you would strive for the National League. You were very good at sports."

As she said that, she was reminded of Raigon of how she thought of him as a bodyguard on the beach when in fact he is a Crowned Prince in a hidden precious land.

'I wonder what he is doing now…' Zoe thought as her anxiety rose up again, recalling the fact that he is alone with his hidden identity in this side of the world.

Seeing herself trail off in front of another man made Zoe shake her head.

Why would I think of him in this situation? Focus, Zoe Cheng.'

"Well, I have my reasons." Enzo smiled at her revealing his sparkling set of white teeth.

'I want to help you get back what was lost since then.'

He told her through his subconscious mind, but he was not brave enough to speak it out in words.

After he saw how devastated she had been after her parent's death, he resolved to himself that he would take up law so he could help her when she's finally ready to face the truth.

"But are you really prepared for what might happen? You will be against the family that raised you up."

He confirmed with her with an obvious concern in his voice. From what he knows, Bo Cheng is a big name in the industry. And he would certainly not allow it to be tarnished with even a little speck like this.

"I know. That's why I would really be grateful if you could help me."

She looked at him with those puppy eyes that made his heart beat fast since then. And surprisingly until now.

He then showed her the pros and cons and the documents that she would need to prove her alibi. Zoe listened to him attentively.

"So you're telling me this would take a lot of time?" Zoe sighed. What is she expecting? She is trying to break a hard and concrete high mounted wall.

"Yes. Aside from the fact that Bo Cheng has lots of connections, even in the legal office. Fortunately, your lawyer is knowledgeable enough to know who's the real deal or not."

He shrugged his shoulders expressing a self-assured look. But it wasn't enough to give her the confidence that she needs to break through the whole process until she wins.

Just then, a text message popped up in her phone, distracting her from her thoughts. It is from an unknown number.

"I know you can do it. You've been in greater turmoils and you succeeded. You are the Crown Princess of Terra."

It was from Raigon!

At first her eyebrows knitted together as she figured how he could text her since phones aren't a common commodity in Terra. But then she permitted him to communicate with her as he requested last night.

Her eyebrows relaxed as she pondered on what he said.

'He's right. I have been through the worst. From a sadistic bully to a murderous queen. This is a piece of cake.' She clutched in her chest as she drew in a deep breath.

"Thanks for cheering me up, your Highness." Zoe may have thought out loud as Enzo asked again.

"Your Highness?" He tilted his head so he could hear her clearly.

"I mean, goodness. It's lunch time already! Let's go grab some food. I'm starving." She grinned at him sheepishly, hoping he would buy it. The term is not common in this area anyway.

"Sure. Let's go." Enzo stood up and was about to leave. Zoe was about to follow after him when she stood frozen on her tracks.

She heard a teenage girl and her elderly grandfather talking about Cheng Hospital. Enzo noticed it too as he went back and waited for Zoe's next move.

"We will go back. I will ask my boss to give me extra shifts. I have been there for more than six months -"

"Hush, child. Your exams are coming. Just focus on that. Your granny can handle this." He made his weak voice sound cheerful. But he ended up coughing.

"I told you to have the surgery then, when the owner is still Mr. William."

"That's my father...." Zoe abruptly stood up and went to their table.

"I'm sorry to interrupt. Do you know Mr. William personally?"

Both the girl and her grandfather gave her doubtful looks. Enzo intervened and explained on her behalf, which made the girl answer them.

"Not personally. But he is so kind that he offered a very low rate at that time for grandfather. Unlike now that it skyrocketed five times!"

The girl's teeth gritted but then she sighed as she knew she couldn't do anything about it.

Zoe nodded as she understood. But then she offered a choice to her.

"Maybe I can help you out." She gave an encouraging smile at her.
