307 GETTING MY WIFE BACK

"Zoe? Zoe?"

Zoe slowly opened her eyes and saw Kristie fanning her with her hands. 

She looked around and saw that they were still at the restaurant where they agreed to meet up. They were still all there with worried looks on their faces. Anika, Nella, Clay, Norcan and…

"Raigon?"

She thought out loud as she stared at the vast dark blue ocean in his eyes, his pointed symmetric nose and his thin but soft lips. 

His long hair was neatly tied up. But he was not wearing a royal robe. But a light blue polo long sleeves and looked like an ordinary handsome face in the corporate world. 

Except that his striking features don't look ordinary at all as she noticed that the women in the area were all ogling at this manly creature who just walked in the room and distracted them from their boring day.

"Is it really you?"

Zoe lifted her hand and touched his chiseled cheeks to see if she was not hallucinating. There are times that she will see him in her dreams. But when she reached for him, her hand would just pass through. 

But this time, it is different. Her palms felt their softness and warmth, making Zoe jolt up in her position and gave him an incredulous look.

"How did you get here?!"

Meanwhile, Raigon was just staring at her. His eyes glazed with the need to hold her in his arms. But he was restraining himself with all the people around him. 

He has crossed mountains just to get here but it's worth it as he was now holding her in his eyes.

It was Clay who answered for him as the two were exchanging glances that only the two of them understood.

"He contacted me a few days ago since I gave him my card back in Lord Howe Island. So I told him that we were going to meet today with the other Norfolks and invited him since he was also a part of us."

Zoe gulped to stop herself from asking for more details as she doesn't want him to be in the hot seat.

'You don't even get outside of Terra. How much more travel through continents?! How about Terra? Does your family know about this?'

She bit her lips and closed her eyes to prevent these thoughts from escaping through them. 

"So, you're the special guy of Zoe. I knew it! It's nice meeting you again, Mr. Gao." 

Kristie grinned from ear to ear, bringing back the vibrant vibe of the reunion.

"Yeah, we're glad to see that you're fine and well like Zoe." 

Nella commented as her face radiated with the sight of Raigon, making Clay clear his throat as she recalled her crushing on him during their survivor game in Lord Howe Island.

"Yes. It's good to see you here in our country. Are you also having a vacation here?" Anika asked him, making Zoe's ears twist up in attentiveness to what Raigon will answer. 

She doesn't know his reason for coming here and she was curious as well.

To her surprise, Raigon answered her in a straightforward manner. 

"No. I'm here to get my wife back."

The ladies' eyes and even the men's popped open in a baffled surprise as they all exclaimed.

"Whoooa!"

And to add to their astonishment, Zoe answered him back with a defiant look.

"I will not go back."

The group gave each other furtive looks as they seemed trapped in between two storms.

'How could you expect me to walk right back after what your people have done to me and my family?'

Zoe shot dagger looks at Raigon's eyes as if they could speak, slightly shaking Raigon's eyelids. But his sincerity and determination was more powerful than his guilt.

He will not leave unless he is coming with her!

She abruptly stood up and was about to walk away when Raigon replied to her in a cool and unwavering voice. 

"Then I won't come back either."

Zoe was already packing her things when she heard his befuddling answer. She thought he would leave as he sees her determination to stay where she is. But not coming back to the land that you must rule. That is insane!

"Are you out of your mind?" 

Zoe couldn't help but blurt out as she almost threw her things back to her chair. She was angry at him for being so reckless. But deep inside, a little feeling of warmth crept inside and made its way in her walled up heart.

"Easy easy… Nothing a glass of cold water won't do." Anika stood up and guided Zoe back to her chair and offered her a glass. 

Norcan also did the same for Raigon. 

"I know a good marriage counselor that could help you out." Kristie raised her arm and gave them an awkward smile. 

Zoe scowled but Raigon bowed to her with an appreciative smile.

"Why don't you leave your marriage issues aside and enjoy your time? It's the first time that we meet again for goodness sake!"

Nella reacted as she handed out the orders that the waiter just gave to them. 

"Yep. That's my girl." Clay put her arm around Nella and helped her with the drinks.

Zoe looked at all of them and felt a little embarrassed for her actions. It seemed that Raigon also felt the same way as he bowed to them in apology the Terran way.

A corner of her lip twitched up as she found it cute. He doesn't do that very often. And it's weird to see him do that with his get up right now. 

But then she shook her head to remind her that she must remain resolved to stay where she was and fulfill her goal.

'Besides, I cannot really go back there even if I want to.'

She sighed as she took a sip of her own drink.
