306 THE IMPOSTOR BOYFRIEND

"I want a burger with lots of pickles and a vanilla ice cream." Kristie raised up her hand and gave her order, making Anika's face scrunch up at her.

"That's not so healthy, sweetie. You should eat more fruits and vegetables and low sugar snacks so the baby will be healthy too." 

"Aren't pickles vegetables? Maybe I'll just change to a low-sugar 'ice cream'." Kristie beamed at Anika making her frown even more.

Zoe chuckled as she watched the two bicker at each other. 

As they were doing so, Clay and Norcan appeared in the scene and greeted them. Anika moved to a different chair while Norcan sat beside Kristie and Clay beside Nella.

"Is this what I think it is?" Zoe exclaimed in bafflement as she watched the pair greet each other affectionately.

"Yes. That island is truly a perfect getaway. You get a boyfriend souvenir at the end of the trip." 

Anika answered for her as the four didn't know where to start.

"How about you then?" Zoe laughed as she gazed admiringly at the two couples in front of her. 

"Too burned to try again." Anika shrugged her shoulders as she munched on her order.

"How about you, Zoe? Don't tell me you didn't have one until now." Kristie asked her in wide-eyed curiosity.

"Oh, yes she has. And he'll turn up any minute now." Clay answered her, making Zoe furrow her brows in confusion.

'Who could he be talking about?' She thought to herself as Raigon was miles away from here. 

'Could he be talking about Koby? He's the only available guy on this side of the world. Or Enzo?'

She contemplated on the mysterious guy that Clay just mentioned. But thinking that he was just joking around, she tried asking a different question.

"So how's the both of you?" 

Norcan told them about his story as he was about to commit suicide and gave himself a last chance to enjoy life during their vacation in Lord Howe Island. But he took a U-turn as he got to know Kristie and her positive views in life and God.

"She just changed me. And I started to believe in good things again." He said as he gazed at Kristie adoringly.

Kristie's cheeks reddened at her husband's public admiration of her that she playfully swat his arm.

"You also gave me a reason to live as well." 

She then told them about her struggle with the chemotherapies and treatments. But what made her hold on is seeing Norcan change his negative outlook in life.

"So you're the one I have to thank for that we can still see Kristie and her baby today."

Zoe grinned and gave a smile of gratitude to Norcan. 

On the other hand, Clay also told them how he was almost acquitted with a crime that he did not commit. But Nella referred her cousin who is an excellent lawyer to him. And they became close since then. 

Zoe's eyes sparkled as she heard of the word 'lawyer.' She has been looking for a good one that would help her get back Cheng Hospital from her known Uncle.

At first it was just to take revenge for her parents. But after hearing Cayden's story about its moral deterioration, she wanted to do it for the sake of the patients who were trusting their hospital with their life.

"Can I also get the number of your lawyer? Maybe he could also refer to me as a good one who specializes in corporation rights and properties."

Zoe asked Nella, who was a little surprised so she told them a little bit of the complicated story that the company has.

She didn't tell them about what her Uncle did, out of respect since he raised her after all. 

"Sure, I'll help you." Nella gave her a reassuring smile. 

"Yes! We're all with you here, Zoe." Kristie beamed at her making Zoe heave out a sigh of relief, seeing that she has a support group whatever happens.

Their order came and they started on eating on their food. Zoe noticed that Clay kept on looking at the door as if he was really waiting for someone.

'Is he really waiting for 'my special someone'? Who could it be?'

As if Nella read through her mind, she asked Clay about it. 

"Are you waiting for Zoe's boyfriend? How come you know and she doesn't? Is it a surprise?" Nella curiously asked, making the other girls giggle in anticipation.

"I think so. He told me not to let her know about it." Clay nonchalantly replied.

"Oh, he's the romantic type." Kristie clasped her hands with her eyeballs seeming to transform into heart shapes.

'Who the hell are you talking about!?!' Zoe wanted to scream at Clay as she was also curious who could pretend to be her boyfriend at a time like this.

Zoe drew in a deep breath as she dampened the atmosphere of excitement with her cold attitude. 

"I think there is a mistake. I don't have a boyfriend right now. That person, whoever he is, is an impostor."

She uttered with a determined voice as she tapped both of her palms on the table, making the women jerked up in surprise.

"Am I?" A deep and sultry voice answered her, making Zoe's eyes widen in surprise as she slowly turned her eyes to whoever said it.

"Speaking of the devil." His face turned into a huge grin as he stood up to welcome him. 

He clasped his hand with his as he patted his back like they were childhood friends who have met each other again after decades.

"W-what are you doing here?!"

Zoe's lips turned pallid white as her heart dropped on the floor. As she saw who he was, she suddenly had a hard time breathing as blackness dimmed her peripherals until it clouded her whole vision. She passed out.
