282 CLAIMING IDENTITY
"There's more?"
Zoe's dainty fingers touched her parted lips. She was still feeling elated that the Three's blood were flowing through her veins. Her confidence shot up like a skyscraper. What more does this book have to offer?
She gazed at the people around her, especially Raigon. His face is also beaming unlike the sad disposition that he had before the book came out. Her lips curved up as she felt glad that he was not the type of a royal who gets intimidated when a new power arises in his eyes.
As she stared at him, his smoldering eyes flitted to her side as well. And as his gaze fell upon her, his lips slightly stretched revealing his gladness that now she doesn't have to cower her identity in the darkness.
"I hope it will bump up what we have learned so far. Because this information will be futile if it was supposed to be kept buried here in our vault."
Lord Hou responded to Madame Lin as his eyes narrowed to peek on what she is referring to.
Zoe slumped on her seat as she thought about what Lord Hou stated. What will be the sense of being a descendant of the Three if other Terrans couldn't find out?
"It would."
Raigon stood up and sat beside Zoe, as he had been sitting adjacent to him so far. As he sat down, he gently placed his hand on her shoulder and removed them away as he was comfortably seated.
It was like a simple reminder to her that he is on her side no matter what they find out, which made Zoe feel secured somehow.
Madame Lin continued to read the other words that were written in the book.
"It said that this information could be divulged to Terra if the Wang's monarchy is in jeopardy. And this will further establish their sovereignty over Terra."
She then glanced at Raigon and Azra, whose heads jerked facing towards one another as if that is connected to something that both of them know.
Zoe's eyes narrowed on them as she curiously asked. "The throne is not seriously being threatened, isn't it? I know there are rumors. But are they enough grounds for us to blow the lid off this?"
Her eyes darted both at Raigon and Azra as she felt that they were hiding something from them. She was more concerned with the fact that the King is in danger rather than exposing her true identity to Terra.
Erin also nodded in agreement with her as she crossed her arms. "It will be a big trouble not only to the royal family but for every citizen if that occurs."
Raigon's head angled as he clasped his hands. "We know. That is why we would do everything to stop it."
Zoe gasped as she got a heavy feeling in her stomach. He may not answer it directly but it means that it is true.
To make matters worse, a servant rushed inside and quickly bowed down to Lord Hou. "The Queen's guards are at the gates, my lord."
Everyone stood up, horrified as they know who they are looking for. Zoe quickly jumped to her feet and put Madame Lin behind her back.
"They cannot take my grandmother again. Over my dead body!" She seethed through gritting teeth.
They may have hurt her grandmother then. But not on her watch. Raigon also walked forward, determined to protect his beloved's family.
Lord Hou gave the book to Azra. "Keep it. I will go out. Stay hidden, everyone."
The women nodded their heads. Erin then guided them to the backdoor leading to her room. Zoe gently put her arms around Madame Lin and assisted her affectionately while they traverse to their would-be secret hideout.
As they quickly go there as silent as a mouse, Erin asked in an intrigue tone. "How could they have known that she was here?"
It was Madame Lin who answered her as they finally closed the door to Erin's room. "Maybe they followed Zoe. They knew that she was my granddaughter."
Zoe swallowed hard as she swiveled to face her grandmother.
'It is I who led them here to take her back to the dungeons?'
Her lips pressed tight as she recalled seeing people who seemed to be observing them in the Capital. But she just ignored them thinking that she was not doing anything wrong.
Her shoulders hunched down as she uttered. "Does that mean that we cannot see each other without you being in danger?"
Before the existence of the Queen's guards in the Hous territory, she already imagined herself living somewhere with her. And if that scene wasn't possible, she visualized herself leaving from her residence and visiting her from time to time.
But with this, wherein they weren't leaving yet and there's already difficulties, how could those scenes be possible?
"That is why you must claim your identity and let the world know who you really are. You are fit to be the Queen." Madame Lin held her hands firmly.
Erin seconded the motion as she grinned while putting her two thumbs up in the air. "That's right!"
Zoe couldn't help but feel relieved with the support of these two people who love her to the core. She may have enemies on this land, but with them around, she feels she can overcome anything.
If their plan would be successful, she would not only be with Raigon without hindrances. But she would also help free her grandmother. And even lift the shame from their family line that has been tainted in time.
However, as they were rejoicing, someone came and knocked on Erin's door. All their hearts beat wild as they ponder who it could be. Erin motioned them to hide somewhere before she opened the door.
